This game comes highly recommended for anyone looking to have a great time. The story is great and the character dialogue is hilariously fun as the characters constantly talk/argue, bicker and pop jokes about each other and their environment/circumstances throughout all of the chapters. Graphics are great, it is immersive and vibrant and the various planets that you visit look extraordinary - you really feel like you are on a new planet every time as elements are not repeated. Similar to the Marvel's GoTG movie, the soundtrack in this game is awesome and the game has a cool way of integrating the music into the gameplay. Combat system is unique for these kinds of games but is most welcome as it allows you to attack/defend as a team rather than spam the moves of your favorite character only. You primarily play as Star Lord but through the combat system, you can direct the other members of the GoTG to carry out strategic moves that impact the whole team's success. My only complaint with this game is that the story is on the shorter side and after you have finished the story, there really isn't much playability to look forward to beyond that like challenges, side quests, etc.

Today I take you on an adventure with a review of Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy, developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix.

You play as Star Lord through out the galaxy and adventure that embark on with your team. You are tied to just playing as star lord but can command the other guardians to do certain actions in and out of combat, now I never thought this concept would work to its full potential, but it does work better then any other game I could think of with this type of game play especially in battle. In combat you feel like a general on a battle field commanding your soldiers to unleash a devastating attack while you are distracting them with your blasters which unfortunately in this game feel like the weakest weapon in the game unless you are unloading a special attack, but none the less they do work. Combat at times can feel a little chaotic but its a good thing that works in this game. Each combat scenario you do will give you a grade at the end with points that allows you to unlock more abilities for each guardian. One very unique thing in combat that I never got tired was the huddle system where if you were losing a battle you could do a football huddle with the other guardians and boost morale in the battle, then an amazing 80’s song would play which amped you the player and your team up to win the battle

While you are not in combat you are on your ship the Milano talking with the guardians finding out back stories, upgrading Star Lord Specific abilities from currency or tech pieces that you find from the places and planets you visit. When you are on planets and not in combat the games feels very familiar I would easily compare it to Naughty Dogs Uncharted from the exploration, collecting costumes and logs to sliding down a mountain side and having to jump at the last minute to make it to the next cliff before plummeting to your ultimate death.

The Soundtrack is one thing I want to talk about in this game it is by far one of the best licensed soundtracks when it comes to video games for myself I would easily put this soundtrack right up there with Mafia 3. When it battle there is nothing greater then listening to the final countdown by Europe or I need a hero by Bonnie Tyler which I always associate with the movie Footloose. The game is filled with lots of 80’s rock and pop hits which is very cool and nice to see because what would Guardians Of The Galaxy be without the awesome licensed music.

Each Guardian is just like how they are portrayed in the movies, Star Lord is his comical witty self, Gamora is quiet but deadly, Drax is funny but on a path of revenge, Groot can only say one sentence and yup you guess it “ I am Groot”, Rocket is the furious potty mouth raccoon every one knows and loves & I would not have them any other way.

Guardians Of The Galaxy is way more than I expected I went into this game blind and with no expectations but I loved every moment and I highly recommend for everyone to pick this game up at some point or another. I give Guardians of the Galaxy a 9/10.

This game was a very good experience overall! Loved the narrative and the world. I had a lot of fun with it, there were some bad things about it tho. This definitely feels like a “one and done” game. I don’t think I’ll play it again unless they add a DLC or something. I think it was well worth the $39,99 I paid for it but I don’t think I would have paid the full price. If you’re a fan of the movies, you HAVE to play it.

- Very funny
- Entertaining
- Voice acting on point
- Beautiful world, environments and lots of enemy variety
- Fun “team” gameplay

Cons :
- Poor performance at times
- Performance mode only runs at 1080p, which is very lame
- Gameplay can be repetitive

Didnt know what to think of this at first. They just looked so different than thier movie counterparts but believe it or not it still works. The non stop commentary in the back ground as you traverse levels is very entertaining to listen to not to mention the superb VA work on this game. This definately has a big replay value because youll always be curious and to what would happen or what was said if you only picked the other option from the different storyline branches this game has. I dont regret this purchase
