I own all of Muse's CDs and Concert DVDs and never get tired of their music or concerts. Live At Rome Olympic Stadium sounds and looks fantastic and is a great addition to their body of work. The sound quality is the best of any Muse DVD. The set and light show is a marvel all its own.

The 2nd Law has not been my favorite Muse CD, but after viewing the concert I want to give some of the songs that I tended to pass up on the CD more play. Follow Me, Guiding Light, Explorers, and Panic Station were more commercial than I tend to like, but I enjoyed them very much as part of this concert. Supremacy, Knights of Cydonia (with it's haunting harmonica intro), Animals, Follow Me, Hysteria, Feeling Good, Madness, Time is Running Out, Supermassive Black Hole, and Uprising were my favorites in the Rome concert. Time is Running Out has to be one of the best concert songs of all time.

I saw Muse perform live at Uncasville, CT this spring with the same pyramid set they used in the Extras songs; having a recording of this set is a particular treat for me. Stockholm Syndrome sounded edgy and raw compared with the Rome concert. The use of the pyramid with the haunting blue eye is visually captivating. Unsustainable opened the US Arena shows and the song and light show exemplifies Muse's creative range. We also get to see Chris sing lead on his song, Liquid State. The final Extra is a short film called The Road, set to the music of Animals, it is a look at the roadie pre- and post-production activities that goes into the concert experience. Don't miss any of the extras.

The editing of the concert is less frantic than for the H.A.A.R.P. concert which gives the viewer a more relaxed experience which fits in better with the playlist and really highlights the artists' musical abilities on their instruments. As a Muse fan, it's great to see how they create some of the effects.

ETA: I've watched the Blu-Ray of the concert now at least 12 times and I'm still not ready to put it on the shelf yet. I've just started listening to the companion CD and it is also awesome. Some of these songs such as Animals and Uprising are becoming new favorites over their studio versions.

These guys are the real deal. I was going to go into detail about all the things that make this the greatest home concert experience of our generation, but suffice to say that I work at a high-end home theater dealership, and the track "Madness" is going to sell systems BY ITSELF.

The picture is just wonderful. The crowd shots are amazing and dribbled out in perfect little tiny doses. The editing wowed me, and I'm a former professional video editor. The surround mix should be a benchmark for all other concert Blu-Rays. The audio is crisp and clean and perfect. There is well-defined sub-bass tones of a kind you normally only find from a well-miced stand-up bass in a quiet room. The word is perfect. No other word will do.

But I may be making it sound like you need to be a snob to appreciate this disc. FAR FROM IT. This is a rock concert and it rocks out loud. It's a show and a half and a half. The visuals are as dynamic as the sonics.

I was very lucky to see Muse put on a phenomenal show at Madison Square Garden in April 2013, and have been a huge fan for years. My first impression is - this CD is phenomenally produced. It does a great job translating the energy of the crowd, which really adds to the music. The mixing and camera work are both absolute top-notch; if you've been getting by watching YouTube clips of the band, boy, are you in for a treat. One thing I enjoyed in particular is that the live instruments - the drums and bass in particular - came through much clearer and more raw than they do on the recordings, giving the overall sound a more hard rock sound, which I personally loved.

However, the best part of the CD for me was the energy of the crowd and how the band seemed to respond. Matt is on fire, and you can tell Dom and Chris are having a blast. Muse have called this show their best of the tour, and I can see why.

One last thing - get the blu ray if you can! I got the DVD, and while it's still wonderful, I'd really appreciate the phenomenal 4K quality.

Great blu-ray and CD combo. Both the sound and video of the Rome concert are fantastic. In fact, I prefer the live versions of many of the songs here to the original studio tracks, as the live performances seem to have much more depth ("Supermassive Black Hole" is an excellent example of this). The blu-ray also contains a few songs filmed at other locations as a bonus. The audio/video quality in these bonus songs isn't quite as good as the main concert, but the performances are amazing. The band's performance of Stockholm Syndrome amid a pyramid of video monitors in Las Vegas just flat-out ROCKS. The CD doesn't contain all the tracks from the main concert, probably due to size limitations of the CD format (in which case I would have preferred a double-CD set that included everything). But I was surprised that the tracks on the CD are in a different order than presented on the blu-ray. It's still a great set though, and worth it for the blu-ray alone.

The staging and performance here are incredible and the quality of the recording is excellent.

I'm giving it a 4 simply because I felt the CD audio was not as entertaining to listen to as the previous live album they did. It's just the way they're performing a lot of the new material really. On the most recent tour, there's been very little improv/instrumental jamming going on, and what little there was hasn't been included in this concert recording. This show is definitely all about the visuals, so that aspect is lost a little on the CD compared to the HAARP release.
