Everyone one in this movie, and boy were there just great performances all across the board, were exceptional. The story is great, the editing- like all Guy Ritchie movies- makes the action, the cut scenes are really clever and fun. An easy buy and I would probably buy all of Ritchies stuff.

An amendment, and the first time I have ever come across this.
Upon loading the disc, it appears to read the Table Of Contents, but all that happens is a diamond appears on the screen, and no buttons pushed ( play , enter ,menu(s) will make the disc do anything.
However, by cycling through the Resolution settings on my Blu-ray player, if I turn off AUTO , and scroll to 1080P only ( 1080P/24 doesn't work ) and then press play or enter, it comes to life with a menu .
I have never had this happen on any of hundred discs before, so I suspect it is authored at an unusual setting (1080P/25?).
It worked for me, but I don't know how it will go on other players without this capability.
It was tried on a Marantz UD5007 player .

I have seen the film before , and enjoyed it ,but despite being an All Region disc , it won't display any menu upon loading.
It has been tried on different players with the same result.
I suspect a faulty disc , and / or batch .
The disc is unmarked in any way , it just won't display a menu .
It was cheap , so probably not worth the postage cost to return it .

"Nicht so einfach, in der Boxwelt über die Runden zu kommen. Da muss man sich gelegentlich auf Dinge einlassen, die gegen die eigenen Prinzipien verstoßen – oder kurz gesagt: vergessen, dass man welche hat."

Box-Promoter Turkish und sein kleiner Assistent Tommy ("Sind das Lancashire-Schweine?" - "Wer redet denn mit dir, du Wicht?!") sitzen in der Patsche: Versprich nie einem Gangsterboss mit einer Schweinefarm ("Ich erwarte, dass meine Kämpfe pünktlich beendet sind!") einen Kampf, wenn du keinen Boxer hast. Hatten sie zwar (Gorgeous George: "Küss die Erde, Mann! Du wirst nicht mehr aufstehen!"), doch der bricht sich dummerweise beim Wohnwagenkauf den Kiefer.
Nun geht alles schief. Ein als Ersatzboxer angeheuerter irischer Gypsy ändert mal eben (auf eigene "Faust") den abgesprochenen Ausgang des Kampfes ("Jetzt geh da raus und boxe – und pass auf, dass du ihn nicht auf die Bretter schickst!") und beschert damit den beiden Pechvögeln eine mächtige Menge ÄRGER ("Brick Tops Methode, sich lästiger Mitmenschen zu entledigen, hat was mit 'nem Betäubungsgewehr, 'nem Plastiksack, 'ner Rolle Klebeband und 'nem Stall voll hungriger Schweine zu tun...").
Unterdessen kommt dem spielsüchtigen Gangster Franky Four Fingers ein gestohlener Diamant abhanden (faustgroß, "so groß wie 'n Pferdeapfel": 86 Karat, "brillant geschliffen"). Boss Avi aus New York (ein jüdischer Juwelier) beauftragt deshalb den gewalttätigen Bullet Tooth Tony, den Stein zu finden ("Er findet auch Moses und den brennenden Strauch, wenn ihr dafür bezahlt!") und setzt damit eine Verkettung von klein- und großkriminellen Machenschaften und RACHEAKTIONEN in Gang, von deren Folgen keiner der Beteiligten verschont bleibt...

Regie führte im Jahr 2000 mit einem Budget von 6 Mio. Pfund der 32-jährige Brite Guy Ritchie (Bube, Dame, König, grAs, Revolver, Rock N Rolla), der wie schon bei seinem Debüt 1998 Bube, Dame, König grAs (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Filmdebüt von Statham!) auch das Drehbuch schrieb ("Das sind Filme mit schnellem Tempo! Da darf kein Fett dran sein.").

Ritchie war von 2000 bis 2008 mit Popstar Madonna (die kommerziell erfolgreichste Sängerin der Welt und zehn Jahre älter als Ritchie) verheiratet. Die beiden haben zwei Söhne.
Produziert wurde der Film (wie schon sein Vorgänger) vom 29-jährigen Londoner (Vater Aristokrat und Patenkind von König Georg VI.) Matthew Vaughn (Regisseur von Layer Cake, Der Sternwanderer, Kick-Ass, X-Men: Erste Entscheidung, Kingsman: The Secret Service, seit 2002 mit Claudia Schiffer verheiratet).

Fazit: 103 Minuten schrägschrille rabenschwarze GANGSTERKOMÖDIE aus London und "raffiniertes wie respektloses Flechtwerk mit Zitaten aus Bankraub- und Boxerfilmen" (Cinema), bereits KULT (und Chaos) im PULP FICTION-Stil, mit abgefahrenen Typen, Diamanten stehlenden Rabbis, herrlichen unverständlichen Dialekten ("Die Hälfte von dem was sie reden versteht man nicht!"), unglaublichen Knalltüten, einem selten dämlichen Überfall auf ein Wettbüro, einem Quietschebällchen und einem drollig-anhänglichen Pitbull, der (jawohl!) von einer Brieftaube abstammt. Absolut genial und für mich Note 1

Der Soundtrack von Komponist John Murphy (und Noel Gallagher, damals noch Oasis) ist gelungen-fetzig, das Titelthema DIAMOND von Klint mächtig cool und einprägsam.
