Product Description

Evergreen RCA

Evergreen Analog-Audio Interconnect Cable Mini to RCA

All cables in our Bridges & Falls Series place their left and right channels in a single jacket, and feature our Asymmetrical Double-Balanced geometry with separate high-quality positive and negative conductors. This design allows for a thin, flexible, and uniquely versatile high-performance cable that can be terminated with a variety of today’s connections, including 3.5mm (male or female), DIN, and RCA. Do keep in mind, however, that, by necessity, the plugs on Bridges & Falls cables are fairly close together. If the L and R inputs of your components are more than 3″ (7.6cm) apart, please consider models from our Rivers or Elements Series.

ASYMMETRICAL DOUBLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY

Purpose designed for single-ended applications, Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry offers a relatively lower impedance on the ground for a richer, and more dynamic experience. While many single-ended cable designs use a single path for both the ground and the shield, Double-Balanced designs separate the two for cleaner, quieter performance.

METAL-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION

It's easy to accomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation. Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise/RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal. Noise-Dissipation "shields the shield," absorbing and reflecting most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to ground.

SOLID LONG-GRAIN COPPER (LGC) CONDUCTORS

Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) allows a smoother and clearer sound than cables using regular OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) copper. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of distortion. The surface quality is critical because a conductor can be considered as a rail-guide for both the electric fields within a conductor, and for the magnetic fields outside the conductor. LGC has fewer oxides within the conducting material, less impurities, less grain boundaries, and definitively better performance.

FOAMED-POLYETHYLENE INSULATION

Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.

I’m pretty sure this is the most I’ve ever paid for a patch cord (per ft). I can’t detect a sound difference between a $10.00 cable and a $100.00 cable unless one doesn’t work at all. I just purchased a Dragonfly Black & wanted to ensure a compatible connection with my AVR. Without disassembling it, it’s hard to say what the build quality is but it appears good from the outside. It’s very flexible but the male RCA terminals are too tight. I plugged into the wrong inputs at first and had a problem getting them off without damaging my receiver, I had to use pliers to remove them. Even though I think this is overpriced I do have to admit they work perfectly and I certainly don’t need to worry about it coming unplugged from the back of my receiver. I’m subtracting one star from my critique because I think it’s priced too high and the RCA plugs are too tight.I’m using this cable to transfer Hi-Res audio from my iPhone to my audio video receiver via a Dragonfly digital analog converter. It’s doing the job perfectly.

I was somewhat skeptical but was relieved at the noticeable uptick in sound quality. The cables not only deliver higher quality audio but I hear far more in the tracks than I did previously. I took the time to go through and do some sound quality tests using the default cheap audio cable that came with the computer and the mid range cable I was using and there is no doubt the AudiQuests deliver a noticeable improvement. I would say they are a luxury but if you have the funds or audio quality is important enough to push make it a higher priority, I think you'll be happy with this purchase.

I always thought fancy, expensive cables were more gimmick than value but well, I was wrong. I'd been experiencing noticeable to significant sibilance on certain tracks and was trying to route out the problem. "Is it my DAC?" No. "My amp?" Nope. "Headphones? TIDAL? MacBook?" Negative. "Is it the lousy $6.89 cable I'm using to connect all this stuff?" Yes. Yes it was. I still suspect the return on investment diminishes pretty rapidly as the price goes up, but the jump from $5 to $50 yields noticeable, tangible results. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link...

I've been an amateur audiophile for a while and always thought the whole "cable quality" thing was mostly snake oil. However, I needed a cable to connect my Schiit Mani to my PS Audio Sprout. I hadn't been completely happy with the phono pre-amp in the Sprout so I wanted to try it with a different pre-amp. I had an old cheap headphone jack to RCA cable and even with that, the Schiit sounded better. However, the cable I used was old and frayed and I wanted a replacement. I went ahead and splurged a little to get this Audioquest cable. The difference made me question my skepticism about cables. The sound opened up, the bass was less muddy, the midrange was clean and pronounced, and even the imaging sounded better. I can't explain it very well, but the best analogy is that it's the audio version of those Claritin commercials where they peel back the screen and everything is brighter and less fuzzy. These things are great and now my mind is spinning wondering if other cable upgrades would make the sound even better. If you have a system that needs this cable, spend a few extra bucks and get this. I am sincerely impressed.

High quality chord. Delivers top notch sound from my head phone amp to my iPod . I like the three foot length so I don't have a long chord to control. For my listening purposes this is perfect. Others may find a longer length to be more useful.

The price does not match the component quality. $80 is unacceptable for poor terminations and construction. The shielding and insulation worked fine and no interference was audible near various sources (power sources, amps, other sound devices). Ended up with channel imbalance problems after about a year, so needed to be replaced.

The technical jargon they use to describe these cables is amusing. There is good reason that the cables actually used in recording studios, for live performances, etc. don't sell themselves on stuff like "double-balanced asymmetrical geometry."

Played my favorite playlist I’ve heard 100 times. Noticed immediately more crisp mids/highs. Jury’s still out on the bass, possibly less distortion (I thinks so!) because of the clarity from higher frequencies. I’m only going from head unit to phone which is still amazing.
The difference is great enough to buy the length straight to the mono amp; that’s probably why I can’t see a huge improvement in lows. Never tried any other brand besides $10 RadioShack version which is why the 4-star.
So far, pretty good.
