With that said, the video quality is excellent, and yes you can only use it in a dark room, but that is what you’re paying for. My friend has the smaller and older model of the nebula capsule and there is a noticeable difference in video steaming quality and sound quality. Truly.
I only use this projector in my 12 x 12 room and it works well. I have the projector set up approximately 11 feet from the wall and the quality is amazing. While I use the Nebula II in a limited capacity, it gets the job done. When I have the money I will definitely get an epson model that boasts 4K quality optics for the living room.
I also see a lot of complaints about not having access to Netflix. While I agree, it also doesn’t cost much more to get a roku streaming stick —don’t most people have one these days? While I wish this projector could stream shows and movies without WiFi… it is what it is. I bought this thing after doing my research, knowing it’s pros and cons. I also think that the capsule could benefit from having a longer charging cord, but oh well.
Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase and it made the pandemic a much more tolerable time. I give it 4.5 stars but rounding up to 5.
I’ve included a video if y’all want to see the video quality. In real time!
Edit 9/13/2021:
The background noise is NOT the projector but a fan and air purifier (because CA is going up in flames and the air quality is bad). Also at the beginning of this video you will see a transition in clarity. This is because I had to adjust for the initial blurriness when shooting the video on my iPhone 11 in the dark. This video was shot in the late evening in my bedroom.
