    I took the leap..
Before anything I must first say that the original TV delivered to me on 12/10 was either a refurbished, show room, or previously returned TV. I was sent a TV with dead pixels straight out of the box AND with cracked bezels on the top left side. I also knew it was used because in addition to the aforementioned issues, the tv came without the protective screen plastic all new TV's come with. I paid 2k+ for this?! Completely unacceptable and I was HIGHLY disappointed/angry that day. Now, to be fair, the TV appeared to have been shipped from an LG factory in my state so I don't fault amazon. I'm guessing they were just the third party here. Additionally, and this is why I went through amazon, the return & replace process was so easy and effortless. I finished the process in less than 5 minutes and scheduled a new drop off date for the TV; they took care of picking up the used one too. However, it did take a whole 2 weeks before I got my replacement which was just the cherry on top. So, kudos to Amazon but at the same time, please explore opportunities to improve the return process. I shouldn't have to wait 2 weeks for a replacement after paying 2K for a new TV. All in all.. I'm glad I stayed with the purchase and didn't opt to go with something else completely. *I didn't include pics of the returned TV since this review is on the working and new TV*For what it's worth, this review is coming from someone who had a 55" Vizio for maybe the last 6-8 years. I know a decent amount about TV's but I'm no expert That said.. WOW.TV: This thing steals all the attention in my living room. It's thinner than my iphone! It just LOOKS effin sexy even when it's turned off. Speaking of "turned off" it was mind blowing to me that it appears to be off when there is no feed coming in. Talk about True Blacks! I guess i'll need more time to get used to OLED tech lolSet up: The set up process that I see some people complaining about... it's really not that bad guys. Smart TV's are evolving so it makes sense for it to request your WiFi info, language preference, time zone, etc. right out o the box. Takes about 5 minutes total, no big deal. Getting it out of the box and ready for the my TV stand was just as easy, just make sure you have an extra hand for the base install. It weighs like 50 lbs and you'll want someone to help you pick the TV up. Do not attempt to do it yourself.Controller: I for one LOVE the controller it comes with. I love how I can effortlessly scroll through the menus without needing a L, R, U, D button.Sound: The speakers are decent but to be honest I've always had a sound bar hooked up. The TV speakers go pretty loud but lack the depth a decent sound bar will provide in my opinion.Picture: I mean it's an OLED guys. I could write a huge paragraph telling you how amazing it looks but if you can't see it for yourself, it's pointless. If you're interested in an OLED, visit your local electronic store and check it out. I'll tell you going from a 6+ year old LED to an 2019 OLED was like going from Motel 6 to the 4 Seasons.I wish I had the extra $ to drop on the 77" but the price jump is crazy. I'll enjoy my 65" for now. 5/5 for the TV.If you're on the fence, take the leap. If you don't like it, send it back. Amazon return policy is A1.

Top reviews from the United States

Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2020
I have owned this TV now for about 2 months and change and overall am very impressed. In contrast, I purchased several TV's prior to this model ultimately returning them for one reason or another (cumbersome setup, poor interface, image quality, poor sound, low value for money). Some review points on this model:

*Image Quality: Very good. I don't give "perfect" ratings effusively, but 5/5 here. Compared to my previous models, none of which were OLED, this TV has really nice black scene contrast that you can really appreciate out of the box. I did not have to do much in the way of calibration. The room it is in is a typical family room with above average natural light, no windows pointing toward the screen directly. TV is setup in the corner of the room on wall mount.
*Angle Viewing: With corner mount, we have been able to assess viewing angle, which again is 5/5. The advertised wide viewing angle is completely justified here and from all angels of our room the image clarity is the same as looking straight on, zero degradation.
*Super thin: I felt a little bit apprehensive about handling the TV to get it mounted. The screen is so thin! the base of the unit where the speakers are is a little thicker. My advice, follow instructions on where to hold the TV as it really does help and will make sure you don't damage it by holding the wrong area. Looks great and really light compared to my other LED and LCD models in the house.
*C9 processor is snappy. The webOS interface is nice and quick. Again here, a significant upgrade compared to my Samsung LED model and Sony LED model. Apps load quickly with significantly less lag time than my Samsung TV (less than five years old).
*The integrated apps are limited, so we do use a Roku Ultra over the native interface because Roku has ALL of our apps (see my review on Roku Ultra).
*Native apps in webOS such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video will support Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos, which will give you the highest-quality audio and video.
*Sound: The built in speakers for this model are quite good. The bar has been lowered by the industry in general on flat and thin screen TV's and I was simply expecting to again consider a sound bar or center channel speaker to augment the TV sound, but I was pleasantly surprised here. Rich sound, nice bass to round out a well balanced frequency response for mid and high frequency.

You could do better by spending in the $2500 to $3000+ range, but the VALUE here is excellent at the price of less than $1,500.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best TV of 2019 for Dark Room Viewing
Reviewed in Canada on January 10, 2020
    Where to start?

    the good.

It comes pre-color-calibrated (saves $300 on getting Bestbuy to do it)
    It supports Nvidia Gsync
It has true blacks and vivid colors; perfect for HDR
Dolbly Vision and HLG and HDR10 support
    Future HDMI version support
"AI Sound - auto adjusts sound"
Ambient light sensor - AI adaptive brightness
    Proper True Black HDR certification
Blows away any LCD-based 2019 TV
StarScapes (star war space scenes, etc) are Mind blowingly well done.
Handles all content types, from games, sports, movies, and TV all very very well.
Very low input-latency, if you are into gaming
Cheaper than other OLED TV brands
Better near-black levels than the cheaper OLED models; uses dithering to avoid colour banding

    the bad?

Speakers are B-rate: I had to enable the bass boost.
Remote Control has an annoying layout; I would prefer a better remote for sure.
WebOS is a mixed bag; I dislike it, but some people like it.
Brightness is lacking -- I have it setup to HDR Bright mode and would still prefer 30% more brightness for day use.
OLED burn in, while it may not be a real issue, it causes a lot of concern about leaving static images up on the TV for a lengthy time.
Maximum rate at 4K is 60fps or so? Would have preferred 120.
Mini-LED TV's of 2020 will be competitive, given how bright they will be and yet still contrasty
A bit costly and poorly marketed

    Conclusion:

I would STRONGLY recommend this TV for movie viewing, assuming you have a room with controllable or dim lighting.

I would not recommend it if you intend to have static content on the screen for 12 hours at a time, due to burn in. If you want a very large TV or have a bright room, I would also say consider some LCD alternatives as they may offer better value in those cases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long overdue upgrade. Best bang for your buck

Absolutely ecstatic of the overall product. But then again I upgraded from a 11 year old 1080p display.

I'll start off with the delivery experience. There was no booked appointment, just had to be available when shipping company would arrive with a heads up email a day prior. They helped me bring it up one flight of stairs and of course signature. Upon inspection of the packaging itself. there was one hole in the middle of the box but thankfully the display is covered with Styrofoam so it didnt break the actual TV.

Setup requires two people especially since the top half of the display is really thin and most of the handling is done on the bottom thicker half where all the components are housed.

Absolutely love how the display outputs rich colors and pure black in dark scenes in movies. In terms of making sure everything is up to date software wise was a bit tricky at first as the settings menu isn't as straight forward of where to locate update button. I would recommend getting the latest firmware as it takes advantage of the TV features for example: gaming, they recently allowed gsync compatibility so any pc gamers with a Nvidia GPU can have Smoother, Tear-Free experience.

The TV remote can act like a cursor or a wiimote navigating menus. The one surprise i wasnt expecting was being able to control my xbox dashboard and apps on said remote without having to grab an xbox controller. The TV remote won't however be able to turn off or on the console.

Overall best display quality for TV and movie experience. Gaming on it is excellent especially if you can take advantage of the refresh rate. So if you can find it at a discount price definitely purchase one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow.

Our "old" TV is a 55 inch Samsung that is still in good shape, but when my wife decided to repurpose a spare room as a workout room we decided to move the Samsung in there and upgrade to a 65 inch. This screen is a monster - almost a little too big for our TV room but it has fabulous colour and contrast. A bit of a struggle to mount on the stand and place on the entertainment unit (the screen is thin, and the manufacturer is very careful to point out the correct way to handle it as you are moving it about) but we love it. Have decided not to wall mount it like our last one as frankly I'm afraid we'd damage it, and given the size we decided having it on the stand is fine. Totally different setup for cable box, blueray player and audio receiver than I had with my last TV (where everything was connected to the audio receiver first) - I just ended up plugging everything directly into the TV and there is an onscreen menu that lets you choose inputs. Even came with an adapter for my kid's old Wii! Took a couple of hours to get it out of the box (carefully) and get it playing. Very happy so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly awesome tv!

If you're looking for a mid-range high-end tv for a solid price then look no further! In terms of black levels, brightness, features and overall build quality this is by far the best tv I have ever owned. I've only had this TV for a couple of months and thus far I have encountered 0 issues with the exception of 1 - draw distance. I have a rather small room (14'x10')and even maxing out that distance, I've encountered a bit if eye strain. So as a note of caution, I would reccomend placing the tv atleast 15' minimum away from your head with distance of 18 to 22' being optimal in my opinion.

Note: With both the LED and OLED technology's there is a chance for burn-in to occur. I haven't had my tv for very long and have not encountered this potential problem. If and/or when this potential problem arises, I'll revise this review and update it with the appropriate information.

EDIT: LG helped me outside of warranty even though I bought used to quickly repair the TV so I'm editing it back up to 5 stars for how beautiful the TV is, how crisp the image is, how BLACK the blacks go. Easily visually the most beautiful TV I've owned and I'm very thankful for the great LG customer service.

It's now flashing white bars and won't turn on at points. Livid - I spent so much money on this and it didn't even last a full year and my dumb butt bought it used like new so I'm stuck
