I would say the overall description of this device is traditional NAD austerity. Plain, clean lines, a simple interface, and decent connection options. I have this powering a pair of Dynaudio Emit 10s and they are never harsh, and have improved in overall balance with the addition of this amp.
The only miss would be that they failed to include a USB connection. I suppose they didn't want to obliterate their lower lines such as the 3020, 3045, etc., and force users of this line to focus on the BlueOS option. To add a USB MDC will cost you in the mid 200 range.
For 1149$ I am somewhat disappointed with the lack of control over the bluetooth functionality. It's important to me for the remote control to allow for changing and pausing of tracks. Those buttons are included on the remote, however they only function if you can afford the 500$ addon card with bluetooth and USB options. Kinda pricey at nearly half the cost of the amplifier itself. For the good side of this review , I say will that I'm fairly impressed with the class D sound of this NAD amplifier I do notice that it's not as punchy and dynamic as the ROTEL 1572 amplifier, which does bluetooth track changes. The NAD remote has nearly blinding blue LEDs otherwise it is good solid controller. If I'd been able to find this information before my purchase, I wouldn't have
Purchased to downsize from my venerable Arcam Blackbox 500 DAC, 290/290P amps. No downsize in audio quality. Three boxes replaced with one that has more facilities and more detailed sound. Even makes my freeview box sound acceptable. I'm using only digital sources so cannot comment on the analogue inputs. Used with Spendor SP2s makes a great sound.
