    I needed a soundbar for my new home office, as my monitor does not have built in speakers. Standard speakers would not work for my situation, as desk space is already limited and I opted for a pretty large 32" monitor, hence my exhaustive search for a suitable soundbar to fit in the space underneath the monitor.After much online research, reading reviews, visiting the local big box stores for in-store listening etc, I pulled the trigger on this soundbar/ subwoofer combo. I could not be happier that I did. Now, Yamaha does not need this review or my support- they are doing just fine without me. But I am so impressed by the sound at this price-point that I felt compelled to leave a few words. I am 100% happy I purchased this. I had listened to the similar, smaller SR-C20A (in a store) and was somewhat underwhelmed despite all the positive online reviews. However, I realized that many of the other YouTube and online reviews are comparing that soundbar against others which are similarly priced (and so they probably sound even worse). Therefore, I guessed that getting a similar speaker to the SR C-20A by the same manufacturer, but with a SUBWOOFER would make a huge difference, and I was right. The sound of the SR-C30A is full, balanced, and does not perceptively distort at louder levels (and the system does get loud). Music is detailed and rich with good depth, and the sub provides as much bass as you could need, and realistically ask from this type of system. The soundbar with the sub disconnected sounds thin and uninspired, but with the sub connected is amazing (and I only have it turned up to a very low level to add a bit of depth).The biggest downside is that (at least at the time of my purchase) there was quite a leap up in price from the SR-C20a to the SR-C30a with the subwoofer. However, I feel that having a good sub is essential for any quality music or movie listening, and I could not be happier that I shelled out the extra cash for the SR-C30A. The only other faults I can find are that the "remote control experience" feels very basic, and that there is no adjustable equalizer (both of which I expected and neither of which I can complain about for a system of this price). I would easily buy this soundbar system again if I needed to, and recommend it to others who are in the need for one. I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

    the great parts: it sounds GREAT for TV/Movies, it is super easy to set up, the wireless subwoofer is awesome. It's so inexpensive, and yet, it will turn a small TV room into a theater. If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, want an excellent TV/Movie experience, and don't have a huge room to fill, then stop right here. All the hype and accolades are warranted. I can't believe how much fun this system has made movie night. the difference between this and even a very good tv system is beyond night and day. You will never go back. Enjoy!

    I am very happy with this purchase. My space is limited so I didn't want a big huge bar. The compact size is perfect. The quality of sound is impressive. It has a built in subwoofer so there's no need trying to make space for another awkward box.

    I grew up on tube amps and vinyl and of course this doesn't really compare. They are completely different beasts, but to be perfectly honest, when I crank it up listening to jazz, classical, hip hop, r & b, old soul, blues, Sinatra, loud rock n roll, whatever, it fills the room and sounds great. It doesn't sound like compressed mush like some smart speakers, especially of a budget variety. One can hear the individual instruments as well as the studio atmosphere.

    It's not super customizable. You can turn up the bass or volume, no real treble control, but it doesn't bother me and I'm fairly picky about sound. Movies sound great. No need for subtitles with this thing. Also I haven't experienced the commonly ridiculous audio disparity. I hate turning up the volume to hear dialogue and then there's a deafening sound effect or orchestral swell. This thing is pretty even while still packing a punch.

    Big bang for the buck. If you're looking for an inexpensive sound bar with kick and quality, this is it.

    Dialogue was difficult to hear through my 43 inch Samsung TV in the bedroom, so I bought this all in one soundbar. I could hear a marked improvement in sound clarity and particularly dialogue. I was a pleasantly surprised by the level of bass it has, although it won't rock the house. Used an optical cable and connection to the TV was a snap. Used the Yamaha remote for initial sound settings where I boosted both dialogue and bass As a bonus, I found that I can control it using an Xfinity remote which is super convenient. I had originally wanted the Bose TV Speaker, but couldn't justify spending $279. Picked up the Yamaha for $149 on sale on Amazon. For sound enhancement over regular TV speakers, it's a great deal. Just don't expect a wide sound stage or thundering bass.

    Update 12/9/22: While I still think this is a great soundbar for the money (currently on sale for $130) I ended up returning it. I had set it to the clear dialogue setting. Sometimes it was anything but clear; in some cases the dialougue was very hard to hear or other times it was far too loud. There was just too much inconsistency between shows, movies or commercials especially for a bedroom TV where you don't want sudden loud shifts in dialougue to wake you up when you're dozing off. I did a little more research and ended up getting a Bose Solo 5 which after a few days use seems to suit my needs better.

    (For this review, I am using the soundbar as my computer speaker.) I never review things, but this Yamaha soundbar is so good, I had to submit a review. I love it that much! I was looking for a soundbar for my desktop computer, because I was sick of using weak computer speakers. This sounds great and couldn't be easier to setup. I am using a standard aux (1/8" audio jack) cable to connect to my Mac Studio. The sound is crisp, clear, and powerful. When I watch a movie on my computer, this soundbar lets me feel it, too. I'm glad I spent the money and went with Yamaha.

    I bought it to make the TV sound clearer, and so I could listen to music tolerably in that room. It didn't make too much difference for the former, but it is good for the price with music, with adequate bass. I did find it a big tricky to set up, somehow, but then my skills have declined.

    This is my second Yamaha sound bar (my other one has a separate sub woofer), I was skeptical about how it would sound. After a week of usage movie, regular TV/News and football I am very satisfied with my purchase. It’s really disappointing how most new TV s have terrible sound, but this sound bar will resolve the issue. I will be using this in a bedroom so it’s plenty loud and adds great depth to all audio. Set up is simply and easy I used the included optical cable. I would wait until Black Friday or maybe prime day as it’s about 40-50% off, I picked it up for $169.

    I got this soundbar for my smallish living room after reaching and watching reviews from multiple sources.. n I am a happy man to have chosen this.

    Delivery: prompt and safe with original packing

    Build quality is premium with mesh cloth cover and touch buttons on top floor volume and on/off buttons.

    Sound: i was a bit skeptical about the bass output since it is so compact. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the sound and the bass. I found the bass extension option a bit unnecessary since it diminished the over all sound quality.

    The different modes work perfectly well as they are meant to.

    Connect using the ARC port for the best output.

    Cons: no option to add an external sub woofer

    Does this soundbar produce the best sound in the world? No. It is certainly much better than my previous sound bar. It is on par with Bose TV speaker. The bass is sufficiently rich. Speech is still somewhat muffled. I was afraid that the mesh material on top would collect a lot of dust. To my surprise I do not see much of dust, if anything at all. I connected Yamaha to my computer via optical cable. Works great. The Bose TV speaker I returned was overheating and turning off after 1-2 hours of operation. This one heats up too. But not to the same degree, and does not switch off. Recommend.
