I own 7 guitars (all Gretsch), and 9 bass guitars (6 Gretsch) and the only one I use flat wound strings on is my old archtop jazz guitar. I love the way they feel on my old fingers, and they really give the guitar a nice warm sound that is perfect for that instrument. I've been using DR's since last century, and will probably continue until I can no longer play.

I have used DR Titefit strings almost exclusively for the last few years. They sound good, don't turn your fingers black like some brands, and they last a long time. They are only a couple of dollars more than the cheap brands for a premium string. I also have never broken one of the DR strings.

But if you look at the photo of the pack on the top left hand side it states "electric".
I did not notice it until after I opened the package, so now I can't even return them.

UPDATE: Amazon did allow a return and refunded my money.
