If your into high end gamming and want the best gpu card then I would still probably recommend the GTX 690, but if you want comparable performance and a single gpu card then by all means go with the titan. I must admit as of right now I am not getting my moneys worth with this card as I currently just have a single monitor setup and on top of that it max out at 1080p. So right now all that extra vram is just being wasted and that's one of the main things that set it apart from it's competition. I am keeping this short and just saying this is a great card and the fact that it is a single gpu unlike the 690 scaling in sli is a lot better. If you want a full in-depth review of this card I suggest looking it up on a technology site (toms hardware is usually pretty good).

Update: I have now had the titan for a few months and absolutely adore the card. Yes the card is still a bit steep in price and you can find comparable for less when you look at the 780 or you can go the SLI route and you can get two of a numerous cards and out perform it for still less, but if you can afford it I highly recommend. First off as you probably have read when considering the card it has 6gb for vram, but after having this card that isn't my main point I like about it much. I particularly like the boost clock and how it is directly correlated with the card temp. I think the base clock say it at 830 something boost 870 something don't kill me if I am off just going form memory, but just from keep you card cool this is with out any over clocking my gpu with the boost clock on all my games run at a constant 993 mhz. Again that is no tweaking involved. Secondly as stated in my original review this is a single gpu card unlike the 690 which makes for much better system temps for your rig setup and when it comes to doing sli on cheaper cards as well to equal or surpass this one card performance. I know they have the 780 now which is close to power and on a lot of set up you probably won't see the difference, but do take into consideration you lose out on 3gb of vram and as games continue to evolve and higher end montiors continue to drop in price you may miss that down the road. Thirdly this card in virtually quiet at least in my setup it is unnoticeable and though I have a headset I play my games a lot without them as well and no complaints from sound.

Died within 2 1/2 years with no warranty. Actually EVGA state that they provide 3 y of warranty, but they don't honor it and come up with some lawyers small-print about only authorized resellers.

The card throttles horribly while gaming. Driver support for tri sli is very poor, at best. Get another for better price and performance.

Never a more accurate quote. I use it for simulation in research, Great price point for research. It is unbeatable in 4 way SLI. However this card in SLI is more than anybody will need presently. Quite expensive for gaming. You can do better at a better price point with other cards if you are a game enthusiast. I give it 5 stars for research but for gaming it is too expensive. However, if you have deep pockets why not.

Pros:
Rendered in Blender 2.68 an object that took 5 mins before on my old FX5800 in under 1.5 mins
Rendered in AE faster by 60%, I will miss ray tracing, but hope it will come later
Rendered in Davinci a project that went great
Games on ultra settings to be tested, Arma 3 on Ultra with sampling at 80 gave 55 FPS

Cons:
Expensive if you wanted to run SLI, right now I can think of no need
Ray tracing in AE
Now I wan to get a new monitor to push the card on ;)

Overall, I look forward to the Titan journey. I will SLI this card when the time comes. Might as well pick a vendor and see where it goes.

I mean, its a friggen TITAN when it comes to gaming. I'm running a Dell Ultrasharp 30" 2560x1600 monitor and this video card let's every game run at max settings!

I think I want to get a second one just for that extra FPS boost that will be needed soon, however I'm sure the price will drop or another more awesome card will come out. At least it was cool having a top-end card for a week.

This thing runs at about 80c under heavy benchmark load (furmark, MSI Afterburner), fan is silent(ish). I had a colleague tell me that he had read there was coil whine from some of them. I either can't hear that sound, don't know what it sounds like, or it isn't happening to my video card. In my system I have the GTX Titan running as my primary graphics card and a GTX 470 dedicated to Physx, both cards are running in PCI x16 lanes, if you can dedicate an Nvidia card to PhysX it does make a big FPS difference in the few games that take advantage of that technology.

I purchased my card used, I saved about 100$ and it worked perfectly, was able to get it registered with EVGA, came with all the cables, accessories and other useless stuff like the poster and stickers. You can't say anything was missing from this package.

Honestly, coming from a GTX 470 SLI rig that would heat up my entire room, this thing is fantastic at staying a lot cooler and sucking up way less power.

imagine buying a 2013 card in 2021 that has the same performance as a rx 580 but costs 3 times more

This card is extremely powerful, quiet, runs cool, and does not give any frame stutter.

I'm running a 30" monitor at 2560X1600 better than my SLI 480's ever dreamed of doing.

I originally purchased it to give it a try before hooking it up in SLI, but I don't know if I even need to. So far it's running amazingly. The first thing I noticed upon firing it up was how much better even the colors and smoothness of text seemed in Windows 7.

I could go on all day about how groundbreaking this card is. I have it slightly overclocked to over 1.1GHz and it's still running cool and stable as can be!
