Customers have mixed opinions about the image quality of the monitor. Some say that it has great color reproduction and image sharpness, with top of the line resolution. The song and dance is worth it, for a Mac Pro (Late 2013)
So far so good. I have a 2013 MAC PRO and it took a few things, to get the monitor working. I'm going to post what I did, since it was written in a few places and various articles.Your going to also need these (2) two cables: (order these at the same time as the monitor other wise your going to be staring at a black screen until you get these cables)StarTech.com 6 ft Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 Adapter Cable M/M - DisplayPort 4k with HBR2 support - 6 feet Mini DP to DP CableLook at the attached photo, shows you where to attach the cables. With both devices off, connect the left DisplayPort port on the monitor to the number two(#2) mini-DisplayPort port on the Mac ProYour going to the (2) two cables noted above.Mini DP to DP Cable, Rankie® Gold Plated Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable 4K Resolution Ready 6ftThe monitor is going to appear dead at first. Next reset the PRAMHere’s how to reset your PRAM:1 Shut down your machine. All the way down, not sleep or logging out.2 Press the power button and then press command-option-p-r. You have to make sure you get those keys pressed before the gray screen comes up or it won’t work.3 Hold those keys down until your Mac reboots again and you here the startup chime.Let go of the keys and let your Mac reboot normally.I'll update my review at a later date, since I only have a few days with the monitor.

Bought this for a hackintosh build, it was recognized right away from the UEFI BIOS and after a few tweaks, I got it to full resolution without any hiccups; plus no dead or stuck pixels. For photo/video editing needs, this monitor is a dream; a lot of screen real estate and pixel density without sacrificing color depth. It was easy to make a custom icc profile although it wasn't too much of a change from the standard preloaded packages so even without professional equipment, this has excellent color reproduction out of the box. I, however, cannot speak for gaming purposes on its response time although it doesn't hinder my work in the slightest. Just make sure you have dual display ports on your gpu for full 5K resolution. As a side note, the lack of speakers and vertical rotation is what you're saving money on over buying the Dell version of this monitor, so if that's worth $500-600 to you, then get the Dell, but keep in mind that the rumor is that it is the same manufacturer is doing HP, Dell, and Apple's 5K monitors and given the way business is these days, I don't doubt it especially given the high quality of product I received.

The monitor is great! Colors are good, and it's very bright.

It's perfect for running Windows at 200% scaling. This is the sweet-spot, IMO... apps that know how to take advantage of the DPI look awesome, and anything that doesn't will just be "pixel doubled". (Unfortunately, there are a lot of apps that tell the OS they know how to do High-DPI, but don't do a very good job of it... for these apps I'll usually just edit the manifest on the EXE so that the OS will do the scaling.)

This one requires two DP cables to drive it at 5k/60Hz, but I've not noticed any problems with that setup in Windows 10 or in any games I've played. It appears to the computer as a single monitor. Unfortunately, like all DisplayPort monitors I've tried, it will "disappear" from Windows when you turn it off, which will move around all your windows. There are hardware solutions for this if you're using HDMI, but 4k and 5k monitors require DisplayPort connections.

I've had good luck playing (older) games at 5k on my GFX 1080 TI, though newer games will probably require a dual-card solution. (I'm not a "twitch" gamer, so I'm probably not the best judge, but I haven't noticed any input lag or anything... seems very responsive.)

With LCD displays nowadays, people are very likely to encounter light bleeds, dead pixels, stuck pixels. I have had good luck with HP displays. I own both ZR24w and ZR2440w and I love them, then I bought a BenQ 27" 1440p, experience was disastrous. I replaced the monitor 3 times, all of them had ridiculously bad light bleed regardless which brightness I use, until one BenQ decided to replace the monitor "one last time" and the replacement was actually acceptable but yeah, it also comes with huge stuck pixel. After several months, I decided to upgrade the BenQ to HP Z27q. Initially I have good impression, NO LIGHT BLEED... but then it turns out that there are several defects on the screen that I cannot overlook. I am disappointed. There's a red spot on upper left, half the size of a finger tip. 3 dead pixels, not stuck but dead. They can be noticeable when background white, like writing this review at full screen. And then there's a half inch long scratch beneath the screen at upper right. Right now I'm in process of getting this monitor replaced. I wish I was lucky enough to get a near perfect screen.

I have amd radeon 7800 with 2 display-ports. I tried the 2 cables and only one cable is enabled as a separate monitor at a time in windows 10. Max resolution is no more that 2560x1600. I was connected to a 4k monitor through a display-port to hmdi adapter until now, so I know single displayport can support a 4k monitor. Looks like this also needs the latest graphics card not just 2 Displayports.
Something else I noticed the black levels/contrast are terrible compared to my 300$ 4k 40inch seiki.

The first one arrived with a few clumps of dead pixels. I was bummed, but I sent it back for a replacement to give this model another shot. Once that got here, all I can say is WOW. This is by far the best monitor I have ever owned: The colors are great, the image is sharp and vivid and the price/performance ratio is through the roof. The one single nitpick is the dual-cable input mode, which occupies two of my GPU's displayport outputs and thus reduces the maximum number of displays I can run (seeing as I only run two, it doesn't truly matter to me, but it might affect other people). That could not be helped when this model was released, however, as DisplayPort 1.3 and 1.4 were not yet in existence when this model was launched. I do wonder when it will get updated to more modern connectivity.
