The button design is very slick as well. Everything is easy to push for me, and I love the addition of Android/Shield specific buttons - the touch sensitive and lit Back/Start/Shield/Home buttons look very slick. The clickable touchpad comes in very handy when using things such as Gamestream (for popup items such as in Skyrim's intro), and the volume buttons are much more useful than I would have thought. The headphone jack just makes it that much easier to relax in a chair while you game on the tablet, or TV if the tablet is set up that way.
I have experienced no latency or stability issues through the wi-fi connection. The controller itself retains the charge for a very long time while in sleep mode (I've gone 2 weeks after a charge to find it still over 75%.) I'm not sure if it drains the tablet battery anymore than other methods but I end up charging my tablet almost nightly anyway.
The controller seems to work with no extra set-up in many games and emulators that can use it. Otherwise, the included nVidia mapper software is so very easy to use compared to the hacks that I have used in Android in the past - those were necessary and I was thankful for them, but the nVidia version is just so incredibly easy in comparison. I have heard that the gamepad mapper was a battery drainer when left on so I have it disabled at all times I'm not actively using it. The controller connects with it off (which can be done via the settings menu for the controller) and most games and software work with it off, but if something needs the mapper it is very easy to turn back on.
If you're wanting to game on the Shield tablet (and I assume Shield for the TV) then this is easily a worthy purchase. I have used gamepads for Android in the past but run into issues with needing to have the right controller software for the right version of Android, needing to buy a button mapper for games they weren't supported in, and needing to do a lot of manual set-up for each game. The Shield and its controller have been near effortless in comparison. You will still need to do some setup or try mapper profiles in games it's not supported in, but it's pretty intuitive.
Functionality - The controller works very well for navigating the K1, but also with playing games on with gamestream or moonlight. I notice no lag and with every game I have tested thus far it maps seamlessly. I have also used this with my remote PS4, and it worked again with no issues what so ever, I was fairly impressed. The controller has several options that work in conjunction with your K1. For instance there are volume controls on the controller, as well as a flat silver plate at the bottom of the controller that acts as a mouse. If you decided to play a game from the play store you can map buttons from your controller to said game. As an example I downloaded slither.io and mapped my left joy stick and a button for speed. You do this by pressing and holding the start button which brings up the mapping options.
Feel - The controller feels great in my hands, though I have large hands, it is a little large as for my son but he quikly got used to it, and the overall weight is enough to let you know your holding a controller but not so bad that after several hours of play it bothers you.
Look - The controller has a sleek look, that speaks Nvidia.
Life - Nvidia advertises 40 hours of continuous play. I cant speak to 40 hours but I can say that i have played it for 3 consecutive days without charge and the controller still said it was at full charge (4-8 hours each day).
I have been testing out the controller, it feels comfortable and weighs about the same as a PS3 controller. It synced up immediately to the Shield Tablet, super easy.
The buttons and triggers feel good and the responsiveness is great. Was able to do very well in Super Hexagon due to the responsiveness and low latency. And if you know Super Hexagon, then you know how important a responsive and accurate input device can be.
The controller also has home, back and play touch buttons at the top along with a Nvidia button that takes you straight into the Shield hub. The volume buttons under the joysticks are nice, but can be tricky to use at first and take practice, otherwise it jumps to mute.
The headphone jack on the controller is a really nice touch, next to the micro USB port which is how you charge it. It also has a microphone which I haven't had a chance to try out yet.
My only complaint is that the touchpad doesn't track well due to the low tracking sensitivity and small track area. Also the surface isn't slick enough to prevent the friction from slowing down my thumb creating inconsistent movements.
Overall this is a very good controller, and beats trying to use a PS3/4 controller. The battery life seems to be very good, but I won't know for awhile and will update this review after testing further.
If your debating a controller for the shield tablet, and plan to play games / emulators you should do yourself a favor and pickup this controller. It will make your gaming experience easier and more enjoyable. Well worth the investment.

Have it for a few months now. No issues
Materials: premium
Battery time: played my last game end to end (Lara Croft) on one charge only
Headphone jack: great sound for immersive playing ( better that raising the TV volume!:-)
Touch pad: responsive.
Game play with game streaming: no issues. No latency.
Only con: The middle button triggers the 'OK Google' feature and it's really annoying if you touch it during game play as the game streaming is interrupted. Perhaps there is a way of deactivating this but I have[t found it yet.
