I have my cord under my rug so tripping on it is not an issue. May be smart to tape it down if you may trip over it.
The only downside to this is the hard mouse pad area. I advise using an actual mousepad here because there is VERY little friction and the mouse will slide everywhere if not totally balanced.
If you sit using correct posture, this is extremely comfortable. While it's not as comfortable as sitting at a desk, it is definitely better than having some janky setup. I have also found that I can sit in a nice computer chair or on the couch while I play games with this. If there are arms on the chair, it may interfere with your ability to balance it so it could be awkward.
Can easily connect a controller to the board. There isn't a headphone input which would be cool. I wonder if there are headphones that use usb...
Overview: 10/10 would buy again. Great for a living room gaming setup.
pros: long cord, solid construction, comfortable to use, required to use GREAT gaming keyboard, can use own mouse, easy to assemble and manage cables, aesthetically pleasing, comfortable cushion that is removable, can be placed on a surface to mimic a computer table, quick to set up and get comfortable, lightweight
cons: forced to use their keyboard, mouse slides easily unless using mousepad on top of existing mouse area, no headphone jack, takes a few minutes to get set up, big unit
There is a detachable foam base that attaches via magnets. I find the connection plenty sturdy enough for normal use. I have never had the Lapdog slide off of the foam base on accident. I like that it is detachable, because the foam piece is contoured to fit your lap comfortably, which means it does not sit flat on a table, so I slide the base off when I store it on the back of my computer desk, and it sits flat, and the base I can just tuck down to the side of my desk. There is an insert in the base for the included driver that is used to remove the screws holding your keyboard in. I would not advise storing the driver here, as it does not fit in very snugly. I just keep mine with my other hardware, it is not like there is a good reason to be swapping the keyboard and mouse out often - that kind of defeats the purpose.
The Lapdog provides a very comfortable experience. The foam pad is contoured to fit your lap, and also lifts the unit enough that it feels like a natural height for your hands. I usually game for several hours at a time, and have never experienced any fatigue or had my lap get warm from the unit. There are a few small issues that could be improved upon, but I do not find them major. One issue is that if you like to sit cross legged on the couch, the unit will slope back towards you, and your mouse will not stay still. I noticed my sister had this problem when using it. This could be solved by the inclusion of a second foam bad which is more wedge shaped, in order to support the side closest to you. The other small issue is that on the mouse side, there is a slightly raised lip on both the right side, and the side that faces you. This is to keep the mouse from sliding off, which is nice, but can cause some discomfort if you try to rest your wrist upon it. I usually have a pillow tucked under my arm anyway to provide forearm and elbow support, so I don't have many problems with it, but I could see it causing a small issue for some people. Lastly, typing on the keyboard feels slighly awkward, since it feels like it is fairly far left when sitting on your lap. This is an extremely minor quibble, since most games don't involve a ton of typing, and you can pretty easily adapt to it if necessary.
The last issue with the Lapdog is the price. At $120 and no sign of a sale anytime soon, it is a fairly large investment for a peripheral. Combine this with the fact that the keyboards it supports aren't exactly cheap - ($70-$100 range on average?), and it would be a pain to remove the keyboard/mouse frequently, you are investing a good bit of money into fully utilizing this piece of equipment. I'd like to see it come down in price soon so more people can enjoy it.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with the Lapdog. Anyone who has ever tried to used a keyboard on their lap and a mouse on the couch next to them knows how that experience is in no way pleasurable, and stuffs sliding around everywhere. Having both keyboard and mouse in a self contained unit that fits comfortably on your lap is a great experience, and definitely worth it. I would recommend to anyone interested in couch gaming.

It has a pad that is very soft and forms to your thighs which is very nice feature. You can also take the cushion off and sit the top part on the table which sits flush on the table.
My only complaint would be that my mouse slides a lot when I pull my hand away from the mouse and always end up off the mouse pad unless I angle my legs weirdly but that's a minor thing and I may put something on the bottom to catch the mouse or for the mouse to rest.
ps. Apologizes to W. Shakespeare for paraphrasing that first part.

I will also say I happened to have one of the two keyboards that fit into this before ever making the decision to buy it. if you don't need a new keyboard or don't own one that fits its hard to recommend for the total price.
