I love this motherboard. It has so many options and the hardware is top-notch. I wish it had USB 3.1 but oh well. I was able to overclock my Core i7 5960x to a blazing 4.8Ghz on this motherboard under water cooling and 4.6Ghz under air cooling. I could possibly go higher if I spent more time in the BIOS tweaking things but I am very happy with my stable 4.8Ghz. This board does NOT disappoint. I also LOVE the yellow and matte black color scheme!

MSI Tech. 01/04/2015 If all steps have been tried and problem still persists then please kindly refer to our website for manufacturer warranty RMA info/request: http://service.msicomputer.com/msi_user/rmaform_p.aspx

End User 01/04/2015 I removed all memory modules except for the one in slot 1. Enabled just XMP, not OC genie. Saved. Rebooted. Error. "The previous overclock settings have failed, system has been restored ti its default settings." For good measure, I tried a different module. Same result.

MSI Tech. 01/03/2015 this seems like XMP has problem on the memory modules. try with just single stick of memory be installed and try with the XMP enabled.

End User 01/03/2015 I disabled the OC Genie and enabled XMP. It didn't work the second time either. Just like before, the computer restarts twice and I get an error message.

MSI Tech. 12/31/2014 disable OC Genie and enable XMP

End User 12/31/2014 with OC genie + xmp, memory voltage options are set to "Auto" and I cannot change them.

MSI Tech. 12/31/2014 adjust the memory voltage a little higher than standard spec and retest.

End User 12/31/2014 I updated to 1.5, but it didn't help. I noticed there were two DRAM profiles, 2800 and 3000. Neither one work. The memory is rated for 2800, so I should be getting at least that.

MSI Tech. 12/31/2014 please update to bios v1.5 and retest as it has XMP fixes: http://www.msi.com/support/mb/X99S-XPOWER-AC.html#down-bios

End User 12/31/2014 The BIOS won't overclock my memory. This memory is on your supported OC Memory list. CMD16GX4M4A2800C16 After clicking the XMP button in the BIOS, BIOS restarts the computer... It restarts again and then I get a message saying that something didn't work and settings were reverted.

Bought a system with a i7 5820 cpu and added a Zotac 980ti AMP Extreme NVIDIA card. The system places in the top 50 in 3DMark with one video card but of the 64 GB of gaming Ram installed the system only recognizes 60 GB in Windows 7 System & SiSoft Sandra software. Even with the latest and hard to find MSI bios version 1.82 it is not fixed. ugh However, it overclocks beautifully and is very stable at 2666 mhz for ram and 3.8 for cpu. I have not decided whether or not to RMA it but will likely do so as it may mean more troubles later after warranty is expired.

I'm sorry but I'm building a computer with the Intel Haskell E hecticore 5930k and I can't review this board considering I am not able to test it but I look forward too or I would not of spent that much on it ha!

The first board i purchased operated for about 1 week before failing. Apparently some sort of power fault on the board as the PC would begin to power up then trip. Removed all possible components, (ram, GPU, etc) still same problem. Contacted MSI for replacement - they were prompt in replacing it.
Wasn't sure how long it would take from RMA process so purchased 2nd board (these are work desktops) and ran fine - until now (12/26) 4 months later - same fault - apparent short on board.
In the interim the replacement for the original board came about 3 weeks after RMA. We put it aside for the next desktop build - which we did this month. Installed the RMA'd board in new desktop, all new components, and wont even boot - same apparent problem - short on board (12/20).

So now we have 2 X99s board pc's, both failed for board issue - no more MSI boards - worst board we've ever had for quality of product and reliability.

Awesome. Above average users will be able to do lot with this board. Even if you nuke the BIOS, it's easy to recover from it.
