Price point was not an issue for me, given this is a tool I use every day.
For much of my career, I'd used Apple products and the revered cinema display.
When it became clear that a new Thunderbolt Display wouldn't be materializing I, like many other pros, began to look over our options.
I use my Asus ProArt with my 2015 MacBook Pro and its expanded Raedon GPU. It ran right out of the box. No drivers. No installation. Nothing.
The only thing I had to do was up the refresh rate from the default 40 to 60. That's it. Runs at the full and gorgeous 3840x2160.
Pros:
-The 4k display is INCREDIBLE. I would even describe it as luxurious. You kinda feel like it's using you a bit.
-It's a MATTE display. Seriously. Why Apple would but a huge sheet of reflective glass on the TB Display always drove me nuts.
-The bright IPS panel is totally worth it. This thing has nice even contrast, deep rich blacks, and marvelous colors.
-It's not a Dell, so you won't get that After Dell feeling every time you use it.
-The USB 3.0 hub is nice and fast.
-Lots of supported connection types.
Cons:
-The USB hub is located on the left side of the monitor, not on the back...so everything sticks right out the side. Not the prettiest.
-Portrait mode is really nice—unless you're using the USB hub which subsequently relocates everything to the top. Unless you have really long cables...not going to work. Having the extra connectivity in the base of the thing would be much better.
-The footprint of the stand is enormous. I had to get a bigger desk.
I didn't have any issues with dead pixels or backlight bleed or any of the things people describe here. I did, however, have an issue using the USB hub. It seems the power of the hub is completely dependent on the computer being awake. If the computer is asleep, the hub is asleep too.
Normally, that's not an issue, but I had a couple harddrives connected to the hub and once my computer went into sleepmode, the hub shut off. That meant my computer thought the harddrives were unplugged, which woke it up...which turned the hub on...which mounted the drives...etc. That kicked off a cycle of waking and sleeping with the peripherals that made one of the drives unusable and had to be reformatted — but I didn't lose anything (BACKUPS PEOPLE!). But it could have been a HUGE issue.
This may not be an issue on a windows system...but it was for me. Learn from my mistakes.
Enjoy!
The stand is awesome, best stand to come with a monitor I've ever gotten, you can position it however.
The stand gives a great freedom of placement, hugely better than the thunderbolt display that I am replacing with this.
This monitor really hits the sweet spot for price vs. performance. If you've been thinking about going 4K but waiting for the right time, wait no longer.
P.S. I was initially led to believe by one of the reviews here that I had received an older PA328 model instead of the PA328Q. However further investigation has convinced me that this is in fact the PA328Q. If you have concerns about this from the other lower rated review that claims this is an older model, be sure to read the comments for that review for a full discussion.
tldr; rest assured that this is the latest and greatest PA328Q
However, because of the annoying way that Windows rearranges the desktop any time a DisplayPort monitor is powered off, I don't want to use DisplayPort. In order to get full native resolution at 60Hz, this leaves me using the HDMI-1 port specifically--not HDMI-2 or HDMI-3 which only support 30Hz.
Unfortunately, when connected to an EVGA GTX 1080 display adapter on a machine running Windows 10 (with latest drivers & latest OS on all as of 2016-08-10), the HDMI-1 port carries some ATROCIOUS artifacts that makes anything with red color components look like jpgs that have been saved 100 times each. Fonts printed in reds or pinks are blurry and illegible, and when simply moving a window with such fonts across the screen (or even a screencap of those fonts), the text flickers violently. Meanwhile, grey, blue, black fonts immediately beside them look fine.
Eventually, after I ruled out Windows 10 DPI scaling, and after realizing that even images of red text flickered as well, I tried switching to the DisplayPort connector again and the flickering was resolved. Without that, I would have returned this monitor without question. However, now I'm stuck with this annoying desktop rearrangement problem for as long as I use this monitor, which is disruptive in its own right.
I tried messing around with all the on-screen settings, as well as Windows-based and NVIDIA-based color settings, but nothing seemed to work when using HDMI-1. I will happily remove this review if I ever figure out how to work around this, but I can't believe that people doing graphical design could possibly use this unless they make the same DisplayPort concession that I've made.

If your use case is just casual, then you can find much cheaper panels that'll do you just fine. But if you require better coverage of wider colour spaces, more accurate colour calibration, and all that entails - then this is actually a bargain.
