Unboxing and First Impressions -NUU Mobile's Z8 gave me a good impression to start with and I can't wait to use this phone on a regular basis. I am very interested in budget devices because of the potential for getting the most bang for your buck.In this video I unbox, go through an overview, and some opinions. Check out my YouTube channel for the whole video. I'll be updating this review as new information comes across. I should have a full review done in a couple weeks.What I like:- Low cost- 5.5" screen- Screen looks great- Removable battery- Expandable storage- Android 5.0- Good cameraWhat I don't like:- Only GSM. I would love to use this with Verizon, my main carrier.Stay tuned for updates.

Ok, so here it is. I average about 2,000.00 a year in cell phones. I buy the latest and the greatest because I love technology. After a while, I get tired of a phone and I buy a new one. So I try the NUU Z8. Maybe a little pricey, I dare you to find a cell phone out there with 32 gig on board and can add another 32 gig.!!! Its smooth and feels good in your hand (with a case on it) Fast, smooth and it runs ALL Android apps .HD is crystal clear, and very vivid colors. Did I mention fast ?. The only thing I have to say is the battery isn't what I would have expected. If they come out with a higher capacity battery I will buy it. It would be nice to see them get their phones out there faster, because they WILL sell. With a 2 year warranty its kind of hard to beat. Its a solid phone. I think ill keep this one for a while. If you match this phone against any other unlocked phone including Apples" I" anything, this one wins hands down. I hooked it up with Straight Talk Wireless and using the ATT sim card. No problems. Hope this helps. P.S. If you do buy the Z8 the glass that will protect the screen is the one for the LG "G4".

This phone is very easy to break. I mean you cant even drop it a foot and its toast. It doesn't work properly with google chrome and the connection issues are enough to drive you insane. You cannot tell if you are on a 4 g connection or wifi half the time. The phone's screen cracked by just falling off the arm of my couch and landing on the carpet. For having an octa core processor its performance is mediocre at best. Spend a little more money and get a BLU or ZTE. Don't waste time with this. trust me it not worth the money.

Probably my expectations were very big after I read all features of this phone, there are two reasons which convicted me to return this product:
Wifi connection receiver was very bad. Disconnecting every minute, and always when I tried to open Chrome. Wifi icon dissapeared and then I was just notified "New connections found" and it automatically reconnect and after one minute same situation repeated...
Second - available space of memory. Device has 2GB of internal RAM, and after the first start (no additional applications loaded) - only 0.92 GB available. WTH??And every other second that amount was decreasing...

On the other hand I have to honestly say, that Display is beautiful, very sharp. System response is very fast. But the Lollipop version installed doesn't include any specialities or available some custom settings..Icons are BIG and it seems like children toy. Need to download 3rd party launcher to get smaller icons on displays. But this is system issue, not the mobile. For the price 300$ I would expecting at least some more better utilities,

Seriously thought about returning this phone. I kept getting this app notification in Japanese although the phone is set in English... Not sure what it was for, so I blocked it, haven't noticed any problems in doing that. Then my MMS messaging wasn't working, after looking my phone over a day after talking to technical support I tried hitting SAVE after changing my APN settings. Now it works great!

Battery life is pretty good if you turn the brightness all the way down.

Camera is pretty good, (video doesn't auto turn during playback) at least the video doesn't get distorted during playback. (Update: video playback works if you turn off autorotate when playing back the video.)

Reception is pretty good.

Update: Battery life lasts twice as long since the device upgrade.
Data speeds are pretty fast with this phone. WiFi speeds vary depending on carrier.

Update: After using the phone for a month, it fell out of my pants pocket and landed on our tile entryway cracking the screen, not just a tiny crack, but a feathered one that takes up half the screen! Called about getting a screen replacement and they told me it would cost $160! That is not a cheap replacement! Now I'm stuck with a phone with a cracked screen until I can afford a better phone. The camera isn't that great either, the pictures come out blurry almost every time with the auto setting inside. Has a glitchy processor, but seems a little better since the last update. Had to uninstall google chrome browser because the updates didn't work with this phone... It kept force closing every time I tried opening. Not sure if it is the phone or my wireless provider, but the reception isn't the greatest in certain areas too. Speaker quality could be better with this phone too.

Pros:

I may be in the minority, but let me just say I've been searching quite a while to find a phone with the following characteristics:

works on US LTE frequencies:
octocore CPU
removable battery
micro sd
dual sim (LTE)

I had never heard of NUU mobile before, but unlocked and at a "reasonable" price...I had to give it a shot. I will say Customer Service (Noetic) has been quite responsive In fact, when FedEx lost my phone, they shipped one out to me right away (overnight). I've just gotten the phone, have not seen any issues so far. It's early yet, but I am happy to see a phone with these kind specs released in the US and wanted to at least get a review out there of my first impressions. Seems to work fine and is picking up LTE for me, and the phone did score 46025 on Antutu 64Bit.

Cons:

Seems like battery life could be improved, maybe by having a higher capacity battery available or even through firmware improvements. I'd like to see glass screen protectors and cases more readily available upon product release.

This phone worked well for me, and had most of the features I was looking for a good value. I ended up having to send my phone back, since the phone that I received had a faint "clicking sound" in the background whenever I tried to listen to audio or video through the headphone jack. Nuu Mobile customer service was quite responsive, but I was unable to fix this issue.
