At this size and price point it’s hard to bear
I bought this primarily for playing racing and flight sims primarily wanting something with a wider field of view than my 32 inch 4k monitor. So far I love the monitor, setup was simple enough, works great with both my windows PC and my M1 MacBook pro. The MacBook will only allow me to set the correct resolution 5120 X 1440 through the display port on my doc, it doesn’t work correctly via thunderbolt which isn’t a huge deal but the KVM switch only works between my windows pc and Mac via the thunderbird bolt port so I’ll be trying to work around that little issue. On my windows PC the monitor works perfectly. The Freesync Premium works perfectly with g-sync. One thing to keep in mind if your looking for a monitor like this with refresh rates above 100 hertz you’ll need a newer GPU like the 20 series from NVidia or I believe the 5700 on the AMD side. My PC is a AMD 3700X Ryzen 7 CPU and NVidia 2080ti. With a setup similar to this you can expect between 60 and 120 FPS with high settings. In Microsoft’s flight simulator I get an average of around 80 fos, Dirt 3 I think was above 100 most of the time. American truck simulator runs at 120 fps when not in a city or town and as low as about 85 in the city.I had considered the Samsung G9 but for that price and the fact that I like play with setting turned up I knew I would never get close to that frame rate and have no interest in spending thousands to trying to game at 240 fps using ridiculously high settings. If it were really into first person shooters I might feel differently. I’m very happy with this purchase and would recommend this monitor to anyone interested in a super ultrawide monitor.Update. To get my MY M1 MacBook Pro working correctly through one of the thunderbolt 3 ports was to shut game mode. It now is displaying at 5120 X 1440 120 Hz and my key board and mouse now work well so I don’t need as many keyboards and mice on my desk which for me was 3 each now down to 2, I should have got a KVM switch a long time ago.Update: I’ve been using the monitor in picture by picture mode so I can run 3 monitors in surround mode using NVidia control panel. One thing I’ve noticed and have seen in a review is when in side by side you get a blue hue on one side. It’s a little hard to see in the picture but it’s there and noticeable in use. It only does this in this mode and personally doesn’t bother me. If you would like to use this monitor in a triple setup you may need to use Custom Resolution Utility to add the correct settings for windows to recognize the correct resolution for 3 monitors. I’m using this with a 32 inch 4K Samsung monitor with no issues all though you do need to match the resolutions so I run all at 2560 X 1440 for a combined resolution of 7680 X 1440. Using surround I can only run them at 60 FPS which for racing and flight some I’m okay with.

I bought this monitor as an upgrade to my 35" 21:9 and couldn't be more impressed. There are zero dead pixels, and the color was more than acceptable out of the box. My RX5700 XT is able to push the pixels for gaming (The Outer Worlds, PGA 2K21) at over 100 FPS. The OSD is clunky and unintuitive, as just about every review has noted, but I knew what to expect, and the remote control alleviates that issue. Aside from some settings being in unexpected places, using the remote to control the OSD is a breeze. However, AOC isn't known for making particularly good OSDs, so I'm not going to knock of a star for this review. Besides, it's not like most people spend much time fiddling with settings after they get the monitor setup.

For work, forget about it. If you open a single spreadsheet zoomed to 150%, this will display it out to column BC, which is absolutely absurd. If you open two spreadsheets side-by-side zoomed to 150%, it will display both to column AB. I have Windock to create zones for windows, and I can have 4 side-by-side windows open without squinting!

I went with this over the comparable Samsung because it did have early issues that resulted in a recall, and aside from the OSD complaints, the AOC one got good reviews. This monitor is entirely worth the price. Just buy it.

I have had two of these monitors for 2 years. I got it because I both work in development and game, so this had wonderful functionality for both. The only complaint I have with it, is the cable management or lack thereof. Beyond that, it performs wonderfully both for work and play.

    Pros
    Color reproduction is solid
5120x1440 is great in a work environment and gaming
    Solid refresh rate
    Good value
    Tons of connections
Can have two systems connected and running side by side on one screen

    Cons
No cable management. They just hang and are visible from the front.
    Menu is lacking

Just purchased this screen to use with both work laptop (now pretty much permanently working from home) as well as my gaming PC. Really happy overall.

Starting with setup, pretty straight forward, however the tiny instruction scrap of paper could have more details, such as showing the exact ports on the back. (the port labels are tiny and very hard to see on the monitor itself. Had to tip the monitor and use flashlight to verify connection ports). The instructions also did not clearly spell out how to use the KVM that is built in, however, learned much of that ahead of time from other reviews.

KVM - it did work. Had my laptop connected via USB-C, gaming pc on the display port. The USB pass through, hooked my powered hub which had my speakers, headset and keyboard/mouse remote wireless receiver. When the the computers were on and running, no problem, everything switched nicely. Bringing out of sleep state, not so good. Keyboard/mouse, usually not able to login after kicking it out of sleep mode.
The other issue I had was on the laptop side, screen had a slight flicker connecting via USB-C. Worked with it for a day, tweaking refresh rate, display adapter drivers, etc. In the end, my solution was to abandon the built in KVM and use my physical KVM switch that I already had. Now the Laptop was on HDMI and the gaming PC was technically on both HDMI and display port. (Had to use the hdmi for the KVM to detect signal, but used display port for the actual output.) This is working much better as keyboard/mouse immediately active on selected device.

Once that was all worked out, laptop, at the lower 3840x1080 is working fine for work. Everything is clear and crisp. The gaming PC is fantastic at the 5120x1440 resolution (only through display port). So far, only had time to try a couple of my racing games and on the full resolution, was flawless. Really fills in the peripheral vision.

If it were not for the built in KVM not meeting my needs, would have given 5 stars. But overall, very happy and would recommend to others.

I have to start by saying I'm a spoiled I.T. consultant. I live on computers and when it is one of my machines, I demand the best for my monitors. I do still game a little, so I wanted a monitor that could handle a game or two. However, I mainly use the monitor for work, and don't prefer dual monitors so like like the ultra-wide concept.

I have been on 27" and 32" monitors for a long long time. I now own an LG 38" curved, and a Samsung 32" 4K curved. The LG is on a Mac Mini and the Samsung was on my old i7 custom Windows rig. I just upgraded to an AMD Threadripper custom rig and decided to upgrade my monitor too. I was not ever really happy with the Samsung 32" Curved 4K, so time for a new monitor!

After hours and hours of research, reading reviews, etc... I initial bought a Lenovo 43" Legion ultra-wide curved monitor but in the end returned it. The Lenovo was impressive, a super nice monitor, but I am used to a taller (32") monitor. So going with a dual 24" equivalent just didn't cut it. I really wanted the new LG 38" but for $1600 to $1700, I didn't see the value. So I read more reviews, looked at more specs, and ended up buying the AOC Agon 49". (I like the AOC better and got it for the same price of the Lenovo on sale, so a better value too)

So what do I have to say... well my initial comment is the AOC 49" monitor is nothing short of amazing. It has better specs than the Samsung (minus the new Odyssey G9s) and is $200 less.

I have no dead pixels (and an awesome 4 year warranty against dead pixels). The monitor is big and bright. The resolution is great, I love the 5120x1440. Graphics, text, photos... it all looks good.

I can't yet speak to gaming but I can only assume it is excellent based on the specs and what I have seen so far.

I also can not speak to AOC's support, some say it is bad but per their comments I wonder... hum? And in reality, very little support is any good.

My only con, and this is a preference, is the monitor stand, although adjustable up/down, does not raise the monitor high enough. That could just be me, I'm tall, but it was easily resolved by buying a monitor arm mount.

So overall, if you're in the market for a 49" ultra-wide, regardless of your usage, you can't go wrong with the AOC Agon 49" monitor!

This monitor initially arrived to me with a large crack along the right side of the screen. However, amazon was able to promptly send me a replacement, and I must say this monitor is gorgeous and responsive (I am typing this review on it right now!). I have not been able to play many games with it yet due to needing a GPU upgrade to unlock its full potential, but so far the picture is breathtaking. There are also speakers built in to the monitor, which aren't great, but It was a feature I was looking for and am happy to have them to clear extra speakers off my desk for basic sounds. I use a headset for gaming and would recommend that as opposed to using the built in ones.

Great monitor for both work and gaming. Easy to flick between USB C input for my work laptop connection and my desktop PC input connection on DP using the AOC remote control. I use the same keyboard and mouse connected to the monitor for laptop input and desktop PC using the inbuilt KVM switch. Great having the inbuilt speakers which works well with USB C laptop. I use a different speaker system for my desktop PC. I would definitely buy this again very happy with purchase

5.0 out of 5 stars It's awesome but..

I was nervous about making such and expensive purchase online, but it was before I could get the g7 and was expecting the price jump to be higher. About this monitor. It's great. No dead pixels, I like the built in speakers, the built in USB hub is handy for keeping the desk tidy. I purchased this monitor for write code and reading text all day. Honestly, the picture is great, but because it's so wide, it makes reading stuff on the sides hard on the neck. For gaming it's probably awesome because you're not really focusing on the sides. But I do wish I waited for the G7 (only for the r1000 curve) where this one has an r1800 curve.

This monitor has a beautiful display.
Work the ultra high resolution or van easily be split into 2 screens while still being HD.

The first monitor I received had a cracked screen ( apparently pretty common for monitors of this size) it took about 2 months to get the working monitor. So that was frustrating but worth the wait.

I wanted to love my Samsung 49in monitor so bad, but the constant popping and cracking sounds from the high temperatures of the plastic case was just too much. But the Samsung has the best picture quality hands down. The Spectra model cracked on the corners too easily and was a very cheap build. This AOC model offers a very sleek design, good picture quality and no cracking sounds. I recommend.
