It is an absolutely amazing little computer. If you are a hacker. (hacker in the old sense). This little thing was designed to be cheap enough to put in the hands of every student. A tremendous entry level computer for anyone. On top of that, it is so cheap that you can buy one, build it into a project like a weather station or what not and then go buy another for something else. It's main feature is the GPIO. General Purpose Input Output ports. It has a 40 pin header that can be controlled by the PI to interface with real world sensors and out puts.
It includes many programing tools for beginners and experienced programmers. The reason I bought it is because the default operating system is Linux, and one of the main programming languages is Python. Both of which I just recently learned and am working on a project using them.
Warning! There are hundreds of after market add ons available and you could find this becoming your new hobby.
And we all know hobbies mean spending money :)
I found it works great with the Pi 400, 4B, 3B and even works well with the Pi Zero! Highly recommended!
1. make sure i2c is enabled in Raspberry config
2. make sure SW is installed:
sudo apt-get install sense-hat
3. add the following to the last line of /boot/config.txt and then do a reboot:
dtoverlay=rpi-sense

Since my project is meant to be portable even where there's no internet connection available, I must use an rtc module (I've got an ARCELI 4pcs DS3231). If I put on the rtc it works. If I put the sense hat without the rtc it works. If I put both on the sense hat doesn't work. Thinking it was a power problem I even temporarily installed a usb3 hub that gets powered externally by mains (I will power it with a solar battery pack later) and connected the nvme/usb disk to it. The pi boots fine but the problem is not solved. If you have any hints to give me I am all ears. without the pisugar3 everything works but I need a ups to make my rig portale
