I was rather hesitant to buy a different mouse type because I absolutely loved my Naga, so I really took my time shopping through the entire Razer lineup. I have gone through ALL OF THEM, and finally ran into the Basilisk.
I have made the right decision, and if you are reading this, I strongly urge you do the same.
Here are some reasons why:
- Hands down, the Basilisk is the most comfortable mouse in Razers lineup. It's size and weight grant comfortable control as well as allowing a variety of different grips in which to wield the mouse.
- The strong, confident clicks are satisfying
- The adjustable resistance wheel is easy to use, and allows you to customize your roll, whether that be stiff shifting or a smooth flow.
- The sensor is second to none, 16,000 is ludicrous to use on a daily basis, but it's nice to have the option. Speaking of which, the software allows easy setup and switching of different DPI speeds with the click of a button
Now to address the biggest complaint I've seen with this mouse: the software.
Though I cannot speak for other users experiences, I had no real issues. The biggest challenge in setup and customization was that Razer Central, was slightly different than Razer Synapse.
Note: Yes, if you have an older Razer keyboard or other Razer hardware, like I do, you'll have to run both. Personally, It doesn't effect my system in the slightest, but if your rig is a potato, perhaps you may experience something different. (this should not deter you from considering this fabulous mouse)
Continuing on, The software was different, big deal. As of today: 5/12/2018, Razer central is running smoothly. The general customization is set up differently than Razer synapse, but it really only took about 3 min to work out some kinks (which were self-inflicted).
In conclusion: If you are looking for an an amazingly comfortable mouse, that is both sexy and righteous, and is unparalleled for multi-functional use (gaming, surfing, and working), Than this is the mouse for you!
It feels just like the G502, maybe even better. The side DPI change button (for sniper aiming in FPS games) is such a nice feature. You can also change the resistance of the scroll button if you want it more rigid or smooth gliding. The thumb rest feels comfortable and not in an awkward spot. Although, I do have small hands so I can’t say the same for everyone.
My only complaint is that when I received the item, the bottom of the box was torn and bent, which made me worry a bit. Though when I got the mouse out of the box, there were no visible signs of breakage or scratches or anything missing. The mouse is still working fine.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this mouse to anyone who might’ve had the Logitech G502 and are looking for a replacement or just simply in the market for a nice and comfortable mouse for gaming or just simple computer work.
For those who are worried about the Razer Synapse 3 which comes with this mouse, I haven’t had any problems with it crashing. I believe it is still in beta, so I will update this review if I run into any problems regarding the software.

The way the mouse is designed makes it easy to hold in different hand positions. I like to hold it more sideways, and its good for that, but you could also hold it straight from the top, and it would be good for that too. I rarely had any discomfort with this, and will most likely buy another one.
The DPI clutch is weird. I never used it, but I like how they have the option of removing it completely which I did. And its really easy to remove, because its only held on by a little mechanism and a magnet.
the only thing I didn't like about this mouse was the rubber part on the inside where your thumb rests. It is very susceptible to staining from the oil/sweat from your hand. That combined with my thumb rubbing the same spot over and over could have left a mark on it.
Either way it looks gross, and cant be cleaned.
That's the only bad thing about it. Good size, good weight, nice feel.

I used this mouse in FPS Shooters like CS:GO, Valorant, Rainbow Six Seige and Squad. It can be used in other games obviously but then the DPI clutch is kinda useless. So, to end my review, I will say this mouse is worth every single rupee I spent and would recommend you people to buy it. I paid the full ₹6,099 for it but I'm sure discounts are available now.

Averall great product
For gaming it is really good, but i wouldn't recommend it for fps games, its heavy and the glide is bad. It is however good for story games, mmo rpg etc. Tracking is perfect and i haven't had a single issue. Also lift of distance is very low, im a low sensitivity player, so i lift my mouse a lot.
Cons
->The mouse has inbuilt profiles for button mapping, but it does not save the lighting effects to the profile
->All profiles except the main (white) profile default to 500hz polling rate, if your dont have synapse in the background. If you do, then all of them will be 1000hz/the polling rate you set them to.
->Razer synapse sucks, easy to use but it is very resource heavy and buggy.
->Been using the mouse for almost 2 yrs now, and the side rubber grips are starting to fall off, I tried sticking them with glue multiple times, but it is only making it worse.
->Also the side clutch button is kinda loose, might fall off soon.
