    Product Description

XFX Radeon RX 590 fat boy 8GB OC+ 1580MHz high Performance fat boy anybody heatsink - The XFX RX fat boy series graphics cards features an all-new fat boy anybody VRM heatsink. This unique heatsink offers 50% greater heatsink surface area than previous RX Series graphics cards. Radeon chill technology - Radeon chill is an intelligent power-saving feature for Radeon graphics that dynamically regulates frame rate based on your movement’s in-game. During peak game play, Radeon chill works to deliver the full frame rate potential of Radeon graphics. As movement decreases, Radeon chill reduces your game play frame rate. Designed to save power, lower temperature, and increase GPU life, Radeon chill enables high performance graphics when you battle and saves power when you explore. XFX exclusive Ultra low noise XL inductors - GPU inductors are notoriously noisy with that tiny buzzing noise caused by traditional low quality inductors but XFX exclusive premium quality XL inductors utilize multiple layers to seal the inductors completely and securely nearly eliminating inductor noise. Zero db auto load sensing fans - XFX fans are equipped to run at the highest possible performance, while our zero db fan system will also keep your fans running at efficient RPM in order to minimize annoying fan noise by lowering RPM all the way down to zero RPM. When the heat is on during intense gaming, our fans will speed up as needed.

great upgrade for my little brother's Christmas PC build

great upgrade for my little brother's Christmas PC build
We got this as part of a Christmas present build for my little brother's PC and it is amazing! this card took the ok performance of a GTX 1050ti and blew it out of the water. we are getting anywhere from 60 to 100fps on this card and it's on the silent mode of the dual bios dip switch. I was shocked when I first saw it in person because of how thick it was (now I know what the "fatboy" part of this means in the name). just remember you will need 12 pins for a power connection and plenty of room to clear it if you have a smaller case. the price is decent for this card given the performance and even better on a Black Friday price.

To start things off and give a simple and well rounded review for those who are debating on paying for this graphics card, it's solid and works beautifully on my Ryzen 1700 system. It's got massive support on resolutions, it's value to performance ratio is amazing. I can easily acquire 2K resolution on the highest settings in pretty much all games (albeit might to reduce a setting or two) with around 60 fps. The card temps under load have yet to reach 60c and this is with hours of gameplay. I'm usually on Skyrim SE (Which is heavily modded for 2K resolution) stable 50-60 FPS and depending on my location 40 FPS at its lowest.

    Positives:
    =====================
    * Great performance for the price
    * Stable and stays cool under load
    * Modern titles run smoothly

    Negatives:
    =====================
    * Image quality can be poor at times but it seems to be before updating drivers.
    * 2K may not be the best for high refresh rates, especially if you want to play on the highest settings in most games.
    * Recently found out that the card is really just an overclocked overclocked 480 with better clocks and cooling solutions.

Overview: If you're looking for a card that can get you performance that is comparative to Nvidia 1060s and 1070s, this card is a steal by all means, get yourself this card but currently as of writing this review the card has increased from $219 (I payed this amount) to $239 and for $40 more you might as well get yourself a GTX 1660 ti which will do you better than this card. I chose this card because it fitted the best in my budget and it definitely shows potential for high framerate and solid graphic settings. I don't regret my purchase so I'm going to say you should pick one up for yourself.

    The card is great!
    1) The performance in both bios modes is great.
I used a number of testing utilities.
The game I tested it with is Elite dangerous at 4K with all settings set to ultra-high and Doom.
    2) Noise can be an issue especially when bios is set to the gaming mode.
In the silent mode - it is not silent but significantly quieter.
I did not note any loose of the performance by switching into the silent mode.
    3) I tried to replace the standard cooling system with "ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme IV High-End Graphics Card Cooler with Backside Cooler".(I was hoping this cooling system will be quieter)
This cooler is not adapted well for RX590.
In my case, the temperature regimes were broken which led to the complete shout down of the graphical card within several minutes of playing Elite.
This is just a commentary for "ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme IV..." unrelated to the adapter itself.

Reinstalled the original manufacturer cooling system and switched bios to silent mode. Everything works fine at 4K (3840 × 2160).

6 month later - still satisfied.
Once I had a glitch - I relate towards the adapter. The screen turned kind of greenish.
This could be caused by some malfunction of the memory.
This problem resolved by restarting the computer and does not appear again since then.

I cannot recommend to buy it now due to RX 5700 has been released.
However, I have no complaints to RX 590

    *Update 3*
I was a little upset on update 2. Sorry. :P After the two crashes and a few big FPS drops, I feel like I'm starting to narrow it down on this second card. I'm thinking either my MOBO/CPU are getting a little long in the tooth, or the PSU is. Playing mp3's on WMP is I'm fairly certain what's killing my machine at this point. Probably Citrix too. Got to remember to shut Citrix off.

So now the hunt continues for a PSU. :-( then mobo/cpu but that's easy. PSU, hard. :(

    *Update 2*

Forget this garbage. Brand new replacement card didn't last a month. Buyer beware. This card is absolute garbage. Very upset.

    ------
    Original:
Absolutely love this card. A legitimate upgrade from my r9 580. Make sure to fill out your warranty card though. My card lasted less than 3 months with very gentle use. Reaching out to warranty, hope they can help me out. I'd still make the same choice again though. This is legitimately a great card. (Update, within 48 hours have an RMA to send it back, so that's neat.)
(Update 2, got replacement card nice and quick, and its been plugging away for a month or so now. Only one hiccup when I was running citrix, but citrix is a system-killer anyway so not the card's fault.)

This card is a screamer. Easily 20% improvement over my R9 580 and runs a lot cooler and very quiet. Install was easy. Keeps itself clean, which is cute. Can run everything basically on max as long as it isn't something co-op. Oh, and yes it's very tubby. So forget about using the slots directly above and below it. :-)

History. Long time AMD fan, 15+ cards purchased over the years in my immediate family. Every CPU has been AMD for 20'ish years. I've only ever had one other AMD card fail. A gigabyte 5770 certified refurb. which unfortunately the seller (huge big box store...) wouldn't honor their certified refurb. Not really AMD's fault.

So here I am back on my R9, wishing I was on my RX 590.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot card but runs well
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 11, 2020
I use this card with my 3600x and it performs well. I think the best thing about the card is that it has 8gb VRAM, very very nice to have. But yes, the card itself performs decently well. I do not play new triple A games but the games I do play, such as Overwatch, Satisfactory, Jump Force and some others, I can run all on ultra at consistently above 60fps. It is not a god card so if you push some settings too high, like render scale, you will see performance drops. I run Overwatch at all max settings, everything at highest, except render scale. It is far too taxing and I can only do it at 150% instead of 200% because it halves my framerate. I haven't had good experience overclocking so I have left that.
However, there in lies the issue with such a powerful card. The XFX cooler is less than ideal. The card runs extremely hot, as in for me, pretty much always above 80+. My case has decent air flow albeit not the best so you may perform better but it is generally true as a whole, if you do research you'll see, the XFX 590 runs hotter than most, if not all, variations of the card. I have heard it is one of t he loudest cards on the market too but this Icannot confirm. It's dual fans spin well. Know that it is a heavy card too so it's sag for me was a considerable amount to where i actaully support it up with a piece of card. It also takes 3 pcie slot things on your case because of how THICK the card is. the cooler is huge but shockingly not that well. Warranty on the card is very very unclear. I have no idea how it works.

Reviewed in Italy on April 28, 2020

    Pro
    - 8GB
    - prezzo

    Contro
    - A prestazioni elevate è molto rumorosa
