Don't believe the low stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In case you have never seen, you should watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qanlirrRWsDisregard the low stars. Yes, at launch the controller needed a patch, which is now available, and is great. Besides, this game, i feel, is meant to be played with a Wheel. I have played with the Thrustmaster Spider and their TX Italia...that along with doing some correct settings...this game is GREAT. So many people wanted this to be easy and not have to learn how to adjust settings that they have ruined the amazon reviews so far. This game is SICK. Stellar graphics, set your own weather pattern, set your time of day, every tuning setting I could ever want, tons of cars and tracks. Absolutely great.I mostly use the Aston Martin V12 Vantage G3, here's the settings I use in case it helps. Be advised that at least with the TX I bought and at least with Project Cars, out of the box it felt strange....the factory feedback settings made the cars feel old, clunky, like the tires were full of rocks or that the steering column was broken, it just wasn't translating as feed back from the ROAD, it just felt like a broken column. So, you really need to be patient and get good with all the settings in Project Cars, once I dialed in within the the range listed below, the TX was way better than originally, again, I have only tested these settings with the Aston Martin V12 Vantage G3. When I say "regular options" I am talking about where you press your start button and go to "options & help"...that is, the setting area that ISN'T that settings area when your in the pits, just that Options and Help area within the start button or the home pages. All other settings not mentioned were left as they were.I am 100% pleased with this wheel.Steering ratio 15.0:1.Force Feedback: Master Scale 80.All F & M Scales 160.00.All F & M Smoothings 70.0.Force Feedback Calibration in the Regular Options, Tire Force 51.Put steering ratio to 25.5:1 IF in regular options the steering assistance is No, Driving Assists Allowed All and Yes to Antilock brakes/stability & traction control. Now, IF in regular options the steering assistance is YES instead, still all assists yes and yes on all the Antilock brakes/stability & traction control, then just put all Scales up to 190.00.This is all with the steering sensitivity in Reg Options at 70NEVER CHANGE DEAD ZONE FROM ZERO IT SUCKS.Lastly, in regular options, taking the steering sensitivity from 70 up to 100 seems to tighten up that slack sensitivity at the wheels center/or deadzone. Also, 180 Scales with 60 Smooths is good tooIf you prefer a little more feedback from bumps in the road, with any set up above, just DECREASE all four of your All F & M Smoothings.Keep in mind that, in my opinion, the lower you put the Smoothings the more of what I call a "belt grind" effect happens. I mean that the belts inside the TX unit will give more feedback in a sense, but it can feel , to me, more like just a grinding belt/broken steering column effect...not really translating as road bumps, so just test it of course. for me 50 or 60 on the Smoothings is the threshold to keep the bumps still feeling like bumps and not just belt grind.UPDATE: Today I will be testing the settings by Stella Stig on YouTube, seen here at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joDSaUXxZFkI will also test MoneyMan300 settings at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1WAQCF5OB4I will update this post with how those settings compare to what I listed above, I am assuming they will be better. They have their Smoothing settings to zero, pretty much what I haven't been doing, so I am interested to see how their set ups play out.Lastly, I use the TX with the Playseat Challenge. Google that if your not familiar of course, its a really good seat for regular home use. It folds up which is the main point. Its not your top of the line deal, but for space I dont think it gets better, and, its still very, very comfortable. For $250 its a very fair price. One issue I had was the straps your elbows rest on were bugging the skin at me elbows...just go to Home Depot plumbing area, get either type of one inch pipe insulation...they have a grey type which has a more plastic feel to it, and they have a black type that is smoother, looks and feels more like rubber...I tried both, its personal preference whichever you like. The more rubber type has this tape you can peel off to stick one side to the other and close the factory split...leave this tape on if you get the rubber type foam, you'll need to remove the foam from the chair after each use as to allow the chair to fold up again. Cut your foam at about 15" or 17"...whatever works best with what angle you have your seat adjusted to...open the factory split and wrap the foam around the two straps where your arms rest at then seated in the chair. Works great. These are sold in singles at Home Depot, you don't have to buy the multi-packs. You can cut your same 1 inch foam longways with the factory split, taking it's diameter down as to better fit the pipe diameter where your knees rest, get some velcro straps, and make knee padding here. See before and after pics below. Here's a review of the Playseat by Inside Sim Racing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_lxcNdMdmU

This is not an arcade game - it is a simulation. Mayeb that's why I see some 2 and 3 stars. For a motor racing fanatic who has purchased nearly every racing game on nearly every console over the past 20 years, this is by far the best racing experience ever. Graphics are right on. Sound quality and accuracy of sound for each vehicle, for someone who has seen most of these cars in real life, is right on. FINALLY - a true racing experience that does an excellent job an conveying the feelign of being in each vehicle. Moreso if you have a wheel/seat configuration in place a of a handheld controller. I also work a lot and do nto have a lot of time to myself, so I apporeciate the ability to jump in and enjoy an advanced class vehicle without having to spend hours working my way up from base models to prove myself. LOVE IT

But, that was always the point if this game. It was designed to bring a real driving simulator to console platforms and That's what the developers did.

So, if you don't have a wheel and seat, you will not get out of this simulation that which the developers put in. While a wheel without a seat is a step in the right direction, the effect of your inputs on the behavior of the car is affected in a simulation much in the same way you would experience if you tried to drive a real performance car that had a wobbly wheel on front of a Barcalounger or folding chair.

Try to drive pretty much any of the cars at competitive speeds with an XBOX controller and you might find yourself wanting to jump on Amazon and write the sort of 1 Star review that reflects buying something with great expectations and getting much more than you were ready to deal with.

BTW, I received my Disc on the 12th of May. After setting up the wheel and seat, it took me a fair amount of time to navigate arount the menus in order to get where I wanted to go. It could be more intuitive, but game developers long ago threw out any notion that they were responsible to explain how to use their products. While I don't like that fact, that's the need Reddit and other forums came to fill.

For hat its worth, I paid $60 for Forza Horizons and tossed it a drawer after two sessions. Thinking that Forza would follow with a real simulator was a bone headed way to think. Getting a driving game that has girls in short shorts using pink panties to start races is my idea of a waste of money. Project Cars is clearly not that.

We're not sure what's going on here. Read all the bad reviews and seriously lowered expectations for this game. But it's great! Only played it an hour (Xbox one, patched, Thrustmaster steering wheel) but haven't had any of the problems we've read about in other reviews. Plays smooth. Great graphics. Best views of any racing game. Cars handle great. Definitely on the sim side of a driving experience. To be fair we've just been practicing an the various tracks with random cars so haven't tried everything but so far so good and I only expect it to get better.

EDIT: I'm took a star off. After playing it some more it has a lag on certain circuits like the California highway and also when running with a full pack of other cars. This all seems like stuff that is fixable. Some of the single car smaller circuit stuff is really smooth. The other things that ticks me off is that Amazon lowered the price a day after it came out. Kind of a "Screw you" to the people that pre-ordered.

This is without doubt the best driving SIM out there. If you want to jump in and play with every car handling and reacting the same this may not be the SIM for you. If you want to crash around the track, banging your way to the front, this SIM is not for you.
This game takes patience and practice and skill just like a SIM should. The graphics are superb, the tracks look beautiful, the car sounds are spine tingling and racing sets you on the edge of your seat!!!!
Throw in virtually adjustable everything, including weather and you really do have a SIM as it should be.
The nay sayers amaze me!!! maybe they don't understanding the concept of this SIM, it definately deserves 5 stars

Just played it for a little while. First impressions are that the AI is pretty good and the racing seems like a lot of fun. Unfortunately the graphics are bad. I mean really really bad. Pixelated hell. I am very surprised. I know this is not running on a PC in 4K but you can barely make out the lines in the road ahead due to lack of resolution. Frame rates stutter all the time with cars on the track. Very disappointed in a title that I was looking forward to very much. Forza 6 it is I guess.

I have enjoyed the Forza series for years. Looks great and fun to play. But I have attended racing schools and would never mistake the feel of Forza for the real thing. A formula car requires significant effort and delivers a raw unfiltered experience. Enter Project Cars. If you want to get the closest thing to a real on-track experience achievable in your living room, may I suggest my personal recipe: Project Cars Formula B car, Thrustmaster TX wheel, T3PA PRO pedals, TH8A in sequential mode operated like a dogbox with left foot braking. Take a few laps around Brands Hatch and you will know.
