good experience, probably not best value though
Used for my first PC build almost a year ago and have had no problems. It's certainly not the most value option on the market at $120-- other products probably offer the same wattage, features, and durability-- but as you can tell by the rest of the build, I'm a corsair shill.I realized after the fact that modularity in a power supply isn't really worth it unless you're working with an absolutely tiny case, which the Define Nano S is certainly not. I probably would have gone with a semi modular model in hindsight. In any case, the product comes with a ton of cables, pretty much all of which I will never use.Literally silent-- the fan is supposed to turn on at high loads according to an included fan curve graph, but the only time I've ever seen it spinning is for a few seconds when booting. I have read lots of forum posts online where people think it's broken because it just won't spin under load. Good thing too-- my GPU fan clearance is shockingly tight and it needs all the cool air it can get. I guess demanding games and even 3DMark Time Spy Extreme don't even draw enough watts to warrant active PSU cooling for a casual user like me.

These power supplies are extremely well-built and come with a 10 year warranty. The output is stable with minimal ripple on the 12V rail and acceptable 5V & 3.3V characteristics. Efficiency is on the upper end of the 80+ Gold specification, just barely missing 80+ Platinum. The fan often does not spin at idle and remains extremely quiet even when under near-full load. Coil whine has not been a problem, in contrast to older units. Cables are mostly flexible & easy to route, though the 24-pin ATX connector's capacitors do mildly complicate cable management moreso than with other cables, but do further smooth the output.

I purchased the RM750 after I got a more powerful GPU for my first build. Up until then, I had been using a 600-Watt EVGA non-modular PSU (which was great and had enough power output, but didn't have two PCIe 6+2 connections). Going to a fully modular PSU was quite convenient since I didn't have a load of unused cables hardwired into the old PSU just gunking up the space under the case. The installation was easy enough, and this PSU has more than enough connections for most applications. The thing has been working flawlessly since, and is ridiculously quiet.

I have friends who have used Corsair PSUs for years and have never experienced a failure or fault, so it's odd that so many here seem to be experiencing such.

Needless, to say, I fully recommend this product if you want enough power to provide for any gaming build with a good amount of headroom for future hardware that may consume more power.

Upgraded from a Cosair RMX 650x due to upgrading to the new Ryzen 7000x and video card upgrades and I've had no issues at all with the power supply.

Note: Some new Ryzen boards come with a PD_12v_PWR ports (My board is a ASUS Crosshair X670E) and this PSU does not include the adapter for this plug, Although it's not necessary to power the board. The port is used to supply the front panel with 60 watt charging vs 24 watt without it.

Good power supply that works well with high end components (Ryzen 5950X with a RTX 3080). Under load, my power pull hit 750 watts sustained and the PSU had no problems handling it. The PSU doesn't make much noise and was easy to install.

My only complaint with this power supply was with the provided power cable. Rather than providing a 3 pin grounded power cable, a 2 pin power cable with a grounding wire was provided (picture provided). Not really a problem since I have lots of 3 pin power cables, but why include such a specialized cable that won't work with most household outlets. If someone were to make the mistake of using this cable on a standard household plug and didn't connect the ground wire, it would present a fire hazard. There are a lot of reviews stating that the power supply stopped working or burned out components on their motherboard. I suspect that this may be the reason.

Bought this to replace an old 650x corsair PS I had in my last build for the current rig. That power supply lasted nearly 11 years people! Sure it was older and not modular as that wasn't a thing - but 11 years? My system is centered around corsair from the cpu cooler, ram, fans, pc case, mouse pad and psu. Everything runs flawlessly, simple to install with a focus on aesthetics and the cable management is insane - especially with that 5000d case.

850x is more than I require, but this is also future proofing as I intend to be using this psu for a decade or so. Its fully modular, meaning you can only attach the wires you need, which eases the strain of the cable management chaos. I have 4 cables attached to power the cpu, gpu, sata sdd backups and of course all the rgb modules on the back panel). Great, quiet and modular psu backed by Corsairs legendary quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Performance and Silent Operation, with a Minor Initial Odor
Reviewed in Canada on May 26, 2023
    Size: RM1000xPattern: Power SupplyVerified Purchase
I had a disappointing experience with my old EVGA 850 power supply, as it suffered from bothersome coil whine under load, resulting in performance issues while gaming, specifically in Elden Ring with my 3080ti. Seeking a solution, I decided to replace it with the Corsair RMx 1KW power supply. The difference was remarkable.

The RMx 1KW operates silently under any load, delivering power as expected without any performance issues. It even resolved strange OS-level freezes that I was encountering. Corsair's reputation for quality is well-deserved, and my 10-year-old PC still relies on an AX1200 from Corsair, which has been a reliable workhorse.

The only minor drawback I noticed was a temporary chemical smell during the initial usage period. However, this is expected from a brand new product, and the smell completely dissipated after a couple of days of heavy usage. If you are sensitive to odors, I recommend ensuring good ventilation in the area during the first few days. Nonetheless, this minor inconvenience does not warrant a deduction in my rating.

Overall, I highly recommend investing in a quality power supply like the Corsair RMx 1KW, as it delivers exceptional performance and operates silently, making it worth the additional cost compared to budget options.
