1. get a case that is plenty wide so the side panel is not close to the top of the card where the power connector is. too close and cables will have to be bent/curved which can put too much pressure on the connector. This is more of an issue with the 4090 and 4080 where those cards consume a lot more power, but be aware this card uses the exact same 12VHPWR power connector.
2. mount your GPU in the vertical position if possible
3. leave side panel off
while a right angle adapter could possibly alleviate the issue, the problem is that right angle pins are another possible source of a failure. the company "CableMods" recently did recalls on their right angle adapters and they are a PREMIUM custom cable company, so this just means you have to be careful in how you setup your pc.
I chose the cheapest and most simple route, I left the side panel off my case.
I highly advise installing the GPU sag bracket. Even if you have a tall case like mine where the bracket is not tall enough, find something to stack underneath the bracket or find another bracket that will work. The point is, it's a large and heavy card, eventually it will sag which could cause other issues.
Performance wise, it's great. I installed the card with it set at default settings and it ran BF 2042 with the game maxed out settings at 1440p and get well over 120+ fps, RT is off. cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p, maxed settings, no RT, at around 100 fps, your mileage may vary depending on your cpu/mobo/RAM setup, i have a 5900x, 16GBRAM at CL 16 on an asrock x470 taichi mobo.
I have ran teh card with RT on, it looks very nice but I don't run it usually because I like having the extra perf for smoother gameplay animation.
It's also a quiet card with temps peaking at about 72c after 2 hours of gaming.
With all of this said, if you can afford it and you know and can plan accordingly for the power connector, then this particular model has been a great experience and worth considering since it tends to be one of the lower priced models. I was able to pick one up for $760. I know that the rumored "Super" models are coming out soon, so there is a possible further price drop going to happen, but I simply could not wait because my 980ti(8 years old) died and I had no GPU.
It is not so loud nor hot.
It is not so loud nor hot.
This thing runs everything I have thrown at it maxed at high frame rates. With DLSS it can even run Cyberpunk maxed on Overdrive at 90+ fps. RT performance and AI features simply put it in another class than AMD's offerings.
Great card, worth every penny. I do wish it had 16GB of VRAM, but it's meant as a 1440p card.

The card never goes above 300w consumption with my current settings, so I deem the 3 cable unnecessary tbh, I'm spent a couple of days testing with a Y splitter to convert the 3-pin connector to the 2-pin that the Razer Core X has (not sure if this hinders performance but like I said, for me it's fine)
and there is no signs of overheating on the connectors nor in the cables, because temperature oscillates between 270 celsius and 290 celsius. Transients spikes get to 310w but I don't think they will be a problem since they last for a couple of ms and the PSU is 650w with nothing else taking power from it (except the fan which is like less than 10w consumption).
Overall, card is running great, fits inside the Razer Core X perfectly and there is no signs of overwattage on the cables or the connectors at all, even with this being the OC version and using a Y-splitter from the 16-pin of the card to the 2x8pin from the Razer Core X.
Maybe not worth the 1.2k CAD for running it in a eGpu but hey, the big win about the 40xx over the 30xx is the power consumption, it's much lower and that makes it perfect for the PSU of the Razer Core X, and if I ever decide to build an ITX or a bigger desktop, then I'm covered for the future, so I'm happy with my purchase.
I purchased my Y-splitter from Amazon as well and the one I got is a COMeap GPU VGA PCIe 8 Pin Female to Dual 2x 8 Pin (6+2) male PCI Express Power Adapter Braided Y-Splitter extension cable 9-inch (23cm)

The cards power efficiency is great and better then my old card and also the fans not running while low workloads are being performed is a nice touch.
The Zotac software where it’s basic it also just works and does what I need so again can’t complain about that
This is definitely one the more value cards in the 4000 series been running it for a month now and can’t complain.
Card was well packed and arrived in good condition and was imported quite fast.
Pros:
- Silent no coil whine
- Very good performance
- Nice style
- Application software seems well built
Cons:
- Not a con for Zotac but in general the power supply connector with all the known issues may be problematic I made sure to plug it in all the way, and checked and rechecked.
- Price, still well above what a 4070 Ti should cost.
