My rig's been running since Feb 12th 2020 with this motherboard, I got this TR4 chip liquid cooled, Motherboard's been running strong, hasn't died after almost a year. Mobo's not one of those 4 month board's *thumbs up*. I'll been running this board to the ground, threadripper still packs a punch even with Gen 3 M.2.
Original Review:
Cheapest threadripper motherboard with great bells and whistles. Threadripper is a beast CPU. The 3 m.2 ultra nvme slots support 970 evo's or corsair force mp500's. So you get some good modern features with this board. Chipset is solid, decent sized heatsink on the x399 chipset (gear cog). My VRM temps are very stable. The VRM sink is very large. No vrm fans built in but you should expect to need lots of case fans with a threadripper. I use a swiftech 360 mil AIO liquid cooling kit for my 1920x and it still runs on the warmer side. Im using 15 lat Corsair RGB RAM. This mobo supports good RAM. Only complaint i have is my PWM doesnt work on my CPU and Chassis fans. Its not worth an RMA for me though. The wifi works and half the boards have broken wifi cards these days. Theres bound to be something broken on a new motherboard. Ive tried various methods of adjusting the fan curve to achieve phase width modulation and it aint happenning. All my 9 fans are running at max. Luckily im using 9 quiet fans. Expect to need a big case and lots of fans. I definetly do not recommend air cooling a threadripper cpu. The mobo and ram and vrm run fine with air cooling though. Its a big motherboard. Each slot is about 2.5 regular slots. So this motherboard is HUGE.

No issues delegating different PCIe sockets to the different operating systems, and while any virtualization setup has a performance penalty it was fairly minor when I compared bare-metal w10 and VFIO. Somewhat of a niche market, other chips+boards will eke out a few more FPS on twitch shooters, but for video encoding or large application development the support for 12, 16 or even 32 core CPUs is worth the price premium.
Overclocking: I've run for months using PBO out-of-the-box and it just works. I didn't try very hard to manually overclock beyond that so I can't answer how well it works for extreme applications.
The motherboard itself has one major con, but I would actually call it neutral
-The top PCIE bracket sits dangerously close to larger cpu cooler (NH-u14), but it fits
There was enough room for all dimms of ram without too much hassle. Support for dual gigabit Ethernet is a HUGE bonus! Integrated wifi that I will never use is there. Missing several 4x pcie slots between the 4 armored pcie slots is confusing, but I never use them.
Over all great board with a not so great bios and flexible compatibility with ram (from what I have seen).
UPDATE**
Bought a second one for a 2990wx build and the bios update process was fantastic. I thought I would need to pull my 1950x to update the bios, but asrock made a fantastic process to avoid that. Now running two systems stable on the taichi x399 boards
Second bonus! ECC memory worked right out of the box!
My original review (left intact below) was only able to discuss the contents since parts were 'missing', and I was unable to complete my build without them. Once contacted, the manufacturer was vary quick to respond and sent me the 'missing' M.2 screws without any fuss. With the new build now finished and running, I can say that I am very happy with this MB. (And I didn't have to go to ACE!)
Having only used it for a couple of days, my only 2 comments are that:
1) The built-in Wi-Fi is great and very fast, when it connects. I have intermittent connections to my 5GHz network - it will come and go randomly, while the 2.5GHz network is always visible/available. While a super-fast Wi-Fi is a nice feature - I prefer wired connections anyway, so not having a stable 5GHz connection is no big loss for me. (And BTW - My 5GHz network is working just fine with several other devices).
2) My Memory is only running at 2/3's speed (s/b 3200, but is running at 2133). I haven't had the chance to investigate all of the related settings, so I can't yet say there is a problem with the MB, but I will say that it's automatically generated RAM configuration is not accurate in my case.
On a final note, to be fair to both the seller and manufacturer, I must admit that 2 days after receiving the replacement screws from the manufacturer and completing the build, I found the M.2 screws I thought were 'missing' (well, 2 of the 3) under the couch. I have no explanation how they could have gotten there (never got near that area during the build), so my only defense is temporary alzheimers, or spontaneous teleportation (I'm going with teleportation).
********Original Review below********
NOTE: This 'review' is only about the CONTENTS of the box as shipped, not the performance or features/functions. Normally I do not write reviews for products I have not tested yet, but in this case the product CAN'T be tested because of the missing pieces.
As soon as I started the assembly I discovered that the hardware bag did NOT contain the screws for installing the NVMe M.2 SSDs. Mind you, the motherboard has 3 (THREE) Ultra M.2 sockets, but not a single one of the REQUIRED screws for mounting anything in them. Might be a simple mistake of omission, but after seeing so many others on the inter-webs having similar issues (missing M.2 mounting screws), I can only assume this was a deliberate choice, not a mistake. (Thank you bean-counters).
So for lack of a 1-penny part, I can't even complete the assembly, let alone turn it on. Once the seller corrects this truly moronic omission (I am contacting them directly to this end) and sends me ALL of the hardware needed to use this motherboard as designed and intended, I will update this review, presumably with many more stars.
LAST THOUGHTS: As I was writing this review, a friend of mine did some digging and found that many people end up having to go to ACE Hardware which carries the right size screws [2.0 x 3 mm [CM2x3-3.3]). But if it turns out that I need to go to ACE to get my screws, this board WILL be sent back as "incomplete"/"missing parts", and I will get it from a different vendor.

It has it's own faults as well, notably the BIOS updates have been a bit slower coming than I expected, and this hasn't helped the hardware hiccups that are the current state of TR4 + Linux + Virtualization (IOMMU, PCIe issues) - but it is humming along now, so ultimately surmountable.
Note, for the server-inclined: This board + TR does indeed have working support for ECC RAM. I'm using Crucial CT8G4WFD824A.18FB1 sticks, 8GB, DDR4-2400. PN is listed as 18ASF1G72AZ-2G3B1, so I suspect the equivalent Kingston value ram would work just as well.
