Size and Aesthetics – The Corsair One i160 is much smaller than I expected. It’s only slightly taller than the packaging for a typical graphics card. Fits easily on my desk. And while aesthetics are entirely subjective, I like the look. The chassis is black-colored aluminum and looks professional and feels very solid; the fit and finish is top-notch overall. Even the perforations on the side panels, which are a functional part of the cooling system, are more than just a simple grate; the designers actually gave some thought to what they look like from the outside. The black etched Corsair One logo on the front is subtle, as are the two RGB LED strips on either side of the front panel; the color(s) are configurable (or turned off completely) through Corsair’s iCue software. This isn’t a typical “electronics aquarium” gaming rig; it would fit comfortably into any office environment. In construction and looks, it’s probably as close to a Mac as you’re likely to find in a PC.
Performance – This is a seriously powerful computer. Out of the box, it can compete with anything of comparable specs. For comparison, I’m getting consistent 90-100 FPS in Far Cry 5 and Battlefield V, both on ultra settings, at 3440 x 1440. I’m not doing any over-clocking and don’t plan to – nor do I need to. Had I opted to built a new gaming rig, this is the performance I would hope for.
Heat and Noise – The performance is no real surprise given these components. But the thermals and acoustics, given these components, are pretty amazing. The design employs a unique convection cooling system: the CPU and GPU are housed in separate compartments on either side of the case and both are water cooled; the aluminum side panels are perforated to draw air through attached internal radiators; the only case fan is a 140mm exhaust fan at the top of the chassis, which draws outside air through the side radiators, through interior of the case and out the top. It works incredibly well. The GPU in mine tops out around 54C under full load; the CPU at around 59C. Heat simply isn’t an issue.
And, impressively, neither is noise. The water pumps make a slight noise that I can hear only with my ear near the unit. The fan at the top of the case is a variable-speed (PWM) model and runs at 0-1500 RPM. The fan doesn’t spin at all until either the CPU or GPU hits ~41C and then gradually and smoothly ramps up as temperatures increase; it doesn’t hit full throttle until the CPU/GPU are at or near full load, which happens only during heavy usage (like a graphics-intensive game). Noise is another thing that is largely subjective, but my machine is virtually silent during normal usage (web browsing, word processing, even light gaming). I only really notice the fan when it hits full speed, and even then it’s more a low rumble than a high-pitched whine and blends into the ambient noise in my office. I don’t wear headphones and the fan noise is usually masked just by the sound from whatever game I’m playing. The machine is not absolutely silent – no computer this powerful could be – but it could challenge any “quiet” design of comparable specs.
Cons – One might have hoped for Thunderbolt support. And the main storage drive is a 2 TB 5400 RPM HDD; a 1 or 2 TB SSD would be preferable. And some might prefer 64GB RAM instead of “only” 32GB. But those are relative nits. Probably the biggest downside to this design is the limited upgradeability; Corsair has managed to wedge a bunch of components into a very tight package. The HDD and RAM are easily replaced; the CPU also is easily accessed; and even the motherboard could be replaced by someone with some experience (and patience). But upgrading the GPU would be a major chore and probably could not utilize the existing water cooler assembly. But that’s just a necessary trade-off for a proprietary design of this sophistication. And the components in the i160 are all top-of-the-line and should remain plenty capable for quite some time.
Overall, I’m very pleased and seriously impressed with the Corsair One i160. After years of having hulking gaming towers stowed under and around my desk, it’s refreshing (and a bit amazing) to have this much computing power actually on top of my desk!

Then I came across the Corsair One, and after reading reviews, I decide it's exactly what I was looking for.
Incredibly compact, sleek, and attractive. Ridiculously powerful without any need to get paralyzed by tinkering with random upgrades.
Got this along with an Asus ROG 240hz, and playing Fortnite and Apex Legends at maxed out settings is just epic.
Very happy with the purchase so far, and feel confident that this machine is going to hold up for a long time to come.
Unfortunately, when you use a PC daily to run your business having one in the shop for fixing isn't all that helpful. So I bought another equally expensive PC from another company to use instead while this one was being fixed. On that note, I used to repair PCs for a living so I know my way around hardware, windows, blue screen issues, etc so this isn't somebody that is clueless on tech (and I even run it under a high quality UPS to ensure it wasn't dirty power causing issues).
After the 2nd PC was back that Corsair for repair they emailed to say they were sending it back. When I asked what the problem was, what was fixed, what was replaced, etc their reply was "I don't know". Great, so was anything fixed or are they just shipping back a PC that will likely bluescreen again. Who knows and with only a 30 day warranty on fixes you don't get enough time to even know if it's fixed or not.
Bottom line: with slow support, pricey PCs, and a clear track record of problems I've had I won't ever again buy anything with the name Corsair on it. I strongly suggest you avoid this company at all costs as well. You've been warned.
- solid build quality
- silent
- very powerful PC
- beautiful and sleek console design. Blends in nicely with my home theatre
Con
- very expensive
- bundle software is a buggy mess. May need to do a fresh windows 10 install.

Price: Yes, you can build a system with similar specs for a lot cheaper. However, if you were to purchase the exact same parts off amazon or newegg to create this build, you will be surprised on how competitive it is to get this much punch in a mini-itx build. Don't forget to factor in someones time to build this system. Don't get me wrong, this product does target a niche segment. However, the price for a small form factor build to take up about the same foot print as a regular lamp is not "overpriced".
Performance: I mean, put plain and simple. It's a beast. Corsairs choice of motherboard, CPU, GPU, and RAM was very impressive to see. Time and time again I see people heavily bottleneck their systems and wonder "why isn't this better". The parts work in symphony and give me performance numbers close to those I have done on much more expensive full ATX machines. If the small form factor scares you, I can assure you it's still packing a massive punch. I am running this machine on a 31.5 inch curved monitor at 2560x1440p monitor at 144hz above 144 frames on high detail or greater on the games listed below.
- Rainbow Six Siege, GTA V, Wolfenstein The New Order, Wolfenstein Old Blood, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
Issues: As a product, I rate the machine 5 stars. However, I did run into some issues when I first got the system. First, the initial boot took a long time which threw a red flag for me at the start. After completing the Windows 10 setup I quickly installed some games and kept getting the error "Windows ran into a problem". After some troubleshooting I decided to do a fresh install of Windows 10 and that solved the issue. I will not fault Corsair on this one because they sent the product in working order, but without setting up a user on the system before I received it they wouldn't have known. For this reason, I can blame Microsoft for this one... again. Secondly, give the loops (pumps) some time to break in. My AIO pumps for the CPU and GPU were very loud at first but have normalized over the past month. Thirdly, I did have a problem with the heat skin fan on the GPU. After popping off the side panel I noticed the fan on the heatsink was a little loose, probably from factory or shipping.
The small M.2 NVME SSD was a little frustrating, but I just bought a Samsung T5 to keep my Steam Library on which works great over the USB-C connection.
