This review is for the R2 model fyi. So I bought this chair because it was one of the few on Amazon that wasn't the exact same chinese made chair with a different off-brand label slapped on it. I'm coming from buying one of those cheap chairs. My old chair, lasted about a year before the padding went completely flat and backrest broke off because it was mostly cheap plastic that looked great put together but wasn't built well.
This one out of the box I could tell was immediately made better than any chair I've bought off Amazon. It's made of steel, ample thick padding , fancy stitching and just looks like it's quality built. It even has a removable cover if it ever needs to be replaced.
Now there is one build quality issue, I've seen other people complain about it online and I have it to. And that is the right plastic cover near the armrest that covers up some internals is loose. So loose that I can see the internals inside. That's the only issue I have with the chair, but because the rest of the chair is so well made I'm still going to give this 5 stars because the rest of the chair is so well made.
I saw another reviewer online complain that the armrests were too far apart. I don't really have this issue, the armrests seem to be the correct width apart for me at least. Seems to be about the same width apart as my old chair.
Putting together the chair was very easy. I was able to put the chair together in 20 minutes. Again, all the connections and bolts seem very solid and well made.
Overall, despite the loose plastic cover near the armrest, I give it 5 stars. It's very well built, and very comfortable. Time will tell obviously, and I will update my review if anything happens, but right now I'm pretty happy with the purchase and recommend it.

Unexpected quality
Though this would be mediocre since Cooler Master isn't known for making gaming chairs. I was surprised though, it's a bit firm but comfortable and the build quality and ease of assembly was great. Just wish the base was a bit more robust.

I’ve looked into a lot of chairs such as the razer ikur ($600 - ridiculous), the secret lab titan ($450-500 - still pretty ridiculous) and a few others and frankly they all seemed very expensive for what they call “good support.” It seems like you are just paying for the name and because they “look cool” when in theory they are all the same. The price of this chair was very reasonable for what it includes. The instructions were very simple and took me about 30 minutes to put together on my own (see picture). The chair did not give me any issues during installation. I’m 6’3 and approximately 200 pounds. The lumbar and neck support are spot on for me. The elastic straps allow you to adjust the lower lumbar support as needed to get into your “sweet spot.” I can comfortably sit in this chair for hours and the chair keeps my posture upright while sitting (as I have a tendency to slouch after a while and then I get back pain). I have experienced a lot of back issues and this chair definitely helps me sit comfortably without aching.Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2021

Though this would be mediocre since Cooler Master isn't known for making gaming chairs. I was surprised though, it's a bit firm but comfortable and the build quality and ease of assembly was great. Just wish the base was a bit more robust.

Conceptually, I love it... it's even still pretty dang comfy as is. However... my final review all comes down to how their customer service takes care of the broken one they sent me. This would be a 5 star item if it wasn't broken.
Their support website is extremely frustrating and poorly designed... however, I did have a response within a few days of submitting my issue, so we will see how it goes. :)
I am within the weight limits of the chair, and I know how to put an office chair together, in case that is the assumption being made when reading my review. I am very mechanically inclined, so I'm pretty confident I put these 12 bolts in the right places.

Online support is a bit of a joke. When attempting to register the chair, it gives me an error. Never fear, they have a system I can use to contact them... However, the very helpful person apologized, then told me to go register my chair through their system, even though I explicitly stated in my message that their system was not allowing me to do so. It's like a new person is responding each time, and not reading the prior messages. We will see what happens next... but I'm not as hopeful as I was at first..

So it took them until October of 2021 to finally get me all taken care of. That was super frustrating. However, they did replace the broken part.... Eventually.
As I've continued to own the chair, I have found other frustrations however. The dang thing squeaks terribly with any movement. It's pretty obnoxious.
At this point, knowing what I know, there is no way I would buy this again, especially considering how much it cost.

This broke a few days ago. In the same place the first part broke. After looking at it closer, it appears that the seat portion (where your butt sits, not the back) was also defective/slowly deteriorated over time. Noisy, uncomfortable, terrible longevity, and made my back hurt. I LOVE Cooler Master products (My last 3 computer cases have been from them), but this one is an absolute bust.
Support was an absolute joke, taking over 3 months to even COMPREHEND what was defective on the chair when I first got it, then it took them another two to send me a new part. Once that was all solved, I figured smooth sailing was to come. Aaand then the chair started slowly breaking over time, culminating in a loud "POP" noise a few days ago, and the back started sagging terribly. I cannot recommend this chair at all.
For reference, the last photo is shortly before I took it apart and threw it away. That is in the full upright position. And I was in the recommended weight range the entire time I owned it. Terrible chair. Both the bottom and the back broke in the end. I will continue to buy Cooler Master products, but I will never be purchasing a chair from them again. The first chair back was defective, the second one broke the same way... which tells me it's a design flaw.
Defective product. Support finally came through. Only lasted a year.

So I'm giving Cooler Master an opportunity to fix the issue, but as of right now, I'm not too thrilled. The chair is quite comfy, but the insides broke pretty quickly. I mean the metal supports inside the chair back. I can recline it 6-9" without touching the handle on the side. If I actually recline it, it dumps you to the left. Squeaks (shrieks? creaks? croaks?) terribly when you lean on it. I figured out that the lower part of the support beams has come detached from the rest of the chair. If I push the chair to it's broken version of reclining, it twists, and something bulges out of the pleather.Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2021
