I am really glad that I did! I found that for my budget, I would have to give up 4k and step down to 1440p. I was fine with that. However, I also found that most monitors TN instead of IPS, and the colors would be terrible. After owning this Dell for a couple of months, I can safely say that I don't miss 4k and I don't miss IPS.
To my aging eyes, 1440p is sharp enough and it is easier to push high framerates on 1440p. Of course if you have a 4k monitor, you can always set the resolution lower. However whenever you move away from the native resolution, things start to look bad. I have found that it is best to stick to native as much as possible for best picture quality.
For the IPS part, I could notice a difference when both monitors were side by side. However, I a few months later and it's not something I ever really think about. The color on the Dell S2719DGFis really good. Not really good for a TN. It is just really good. In fact, picture quality overall is great. I almost want to buy one for work to replace my 1080p IPS monitors.
So good picture quality, color, and 1440p are all good. What about the 144hz? This was huge for me. It really made the whole experience of PC gaming so much better. Everything is smooth. I feel like my mouse is doing exactly what I want. Hit shots in an FPS is easier. Racing around Forza Horizon 4 is so much more immersive. This is how PC gaming is supposed to feel.
One more thing on the 144hz part. I strongly recommend you do a few things to get the most out of this monitor.
1) Use a Displayport cable to connect from the monitor to the GPU. Mine did not come with one in the box, maybe order one at the same time.
2) If you don't have Displayport on your GPU, use an HDMI cable and connect to the HDMI 2.0 port on the monitor. I did get one of those in the box.
3) If you don't have HDMI on your GPU, upgrade your GPU
4) Reboot your computer after installing the monitor
5) Go into Advanced Display Settings and make sure that the monitor refresh is set to 144hz. It will probably default to 60hz, so it will need to be changed to take advantage of it.
6) If you have a Nvidia GTX 10 or 20 series card, open up the Nvidia settings panel. Look for G-Sync and turn it on. This will enable Freesync on the monitor to run.
7) If you have an AMD card, go into the settings and make sure the Freesync switch is turned on.
8) Once you get into a game, turn off any frame limiters and turn on V-Sync. By enabling V-Sync, your frames will cap at 144, Freesync will operate between 40 and 144 FPS, and V-Sync will take over at 39 FPS and below. This will ensure that you have extremely smooth gameplay between 40 and 144 FPS with no tearing and no lag on your mouse or keyboard.
Overall, this is a fantastic monitor, and I have been surprised at how much I love it. A few other things that I didn't mention were the excellent stand and the convenient USB hub. This monitor brings a lot of value and function to the table. I highly recommend this monitor!
The stand: Excellently engineered and simple to mount/un-mount. It can be a little tricky flipping the monitor into portrait mode.. you have to lean it back to spin it because the stand doesn't go high enough. Not a huge problem but annoying if you're desk is cramped. Otherwise solid stand with room for cables to go out the back and height adjustment is very easy.
The box: Came perfectly packed and protected (my UPS guy dropped it on the porch with such a thud you'd think he was having a bad day or something). No damage to the screen and I was able to repackage the monitor in the box when I moved recently with zero problems.
The buttons and OSD: Simple and intuitive design. Took me all of 1 minute to get it figured out. Overclock settings are easy to find and enable. Has all of the usual features, etc. What's not to like?
The USB 3 ports: These kind of suck in that they are on the bottom left of the screen and very hard to use. I highly recommend getting a small usb extension cable for these so that you don't have to feel around on the bottom of your monitor to use them as it is extremely tedious. Other than that I haven't had a single problem with them or the included cable.
The HDMI cable: I was able to use the cable at the full 155hz without any problems. I did, however, upgrade it to a Club3D VESA Certified CAC-2068 DisplayPort cable with no looking back. DP or die!
Issues with Windows 10: Windows 10 sucks of course so you may run into issues like games freezing upon waking up, having your Hz reset to 60 if your main monitor isn't running at 155Hz as well, problems with FPS in fully maximized windows, etc. I recommend ensuring you are running at a full 155Hz with a widget or just by paying attention because Windows 10 might try and undermine you like it has me. Probably an issue with my specific hardware, but beware. Not the monitors fault though.
Thoughts: Great monitor. Picture is so much better than my previous Asus VS248H that it looks dark and dead in comparison. I knew my monitor sucked; I did not know that I was a caveman living in the dark ages. So glad I finally upgraded. What a beautiful monitor. The overclocking feature is easily enabled and it runs perfectly at 155hz. I should have gotten this when it first came out! Price has increased by nearly $80 since I purchased it, but I suppose that can be a testament to its demand. Anyways, I highly recommend this monitor and will be getting a 2nd one hopefully soon. Epic screen!

Would've been nice if they included a Display Port cable, as that is required to get GSync running, but even without it the experience is great compared to my previous 60Hz 4K.
Visually it's really really hard to tell the difference between this and an IPS panel, though the machine it's running on is primarily used for games and browsing at the moment.
