1. Make sure you have USB 2.0 enabled in the monitor settings, this is actually default. USB 3.2 will limit your refresh rate to 30Hz and it's awful.
2. Get a better USB-C <-> USB-C cable. Unfortunately Philips screwed this up. They throw a cheap one to the box and it can't provide enough bandwidth to pass 4k@60Hz - you'll be stuck with those 30Hz. I've used another one, from my USB-C external SSD drive, and it work perfectly.
There is no need to install any drivers, hack anything or click anything while holding magic buttons. macOS recognized it immediately and you can choose default or scaled resolution up to full 4k as you wish, just like with built-in display. Both displays work fine at max resolution at the same time, even though for this monitor I stepped it down a little so fonts are not so tiny. Everything still looks very sharp and smooth.
I do photography and was pleased to see printed calibration report in the box.
I stand it upright against the wall to power it on and there is discoloring to some extent along the edge that was pretty apparent. I messed with the visual settings enough to mostly make it go away. The monitor is where I have Slack open vertically. I’m disappointed now I’m being forced to go to Phillips when this just arrived like this. It’s just shady and soo not worth it now. I bought an arm to put it on. But it makes it really odd to buy a monitor and not be able to stand it up or put it anywhere else.
Some positives about the product - The thin bezel is great. Very low profile from the front. Great range of settings for clarity color and brightness.
However - be mindful of shady seller. Ensure it’s prime so they can’t stuff you.
The seller was very good. The monitor arrived earlier than the scheduled date. The seller gave me time to try the monitor for a couple of weeks before they asked about the service and the product. I like having time to evaluate before anyone attempts to rush me about products.
I highly recommend the seller and the product.

Quiero hacer válida la garantía pero nadie me responde.
1. Set monitor to USB 2.0 via monitor controls
2. Set monitor to DisplayPort 1.2 via monitor controls
3. Ensure you have downloaded the most recent DisplayPort drivers for Mac and confirmed they are enabled via About this mac/System report/Software/Extensions/DisplayLinkDriver > Loaded: Yes
Should you connect with USB setting at 3.2 the bridge will support faster USB speeds but the display will cap out at 30hz. This is due to the limitations of data, display and power transfer of the USB-C architecture. When the display is only in DisplayPort 1.1 you won't be able to get anywhere near 4K.
*Thunderbolt 3 cables provide no benefit or difference to USB-C as they need to be certified for both connections (and this is not a T3 monitor).
*When set to the above settings you can still use the included bridge for USB 2.0 speeds plus upstream power of 65W to your Macbook/Pro.
*In the macOS display settings hold 'Option' and hit 'Scaled' to switch between manual and automated resolutions. You can run scaled resolutions at comparable 4K density which looks great and is functional. Most systems should provide 1920, 2560, 3008, 3360 and 3840.
*If you have Thunderbolt 3 capability your graphics can run this monitor (including all recent integrated Iris graphics). If you are using a non-Thunderbolt 3 Macbook you may not be able to run full 4K60 but still a comparable scaled version.
This is a great monitor once you get it dialled in! I’ve connected an additional USB hub for a total of 6 peripherals, GB Ethernet and line out all with a single cable to the Mac, powering it at 65W. If you use your MacBook closed it boots automatically when you turn the monitor on. Very happy with purchase.
The monitor functioned as promised for less than 4 months, then a purple solid vertical line developed on the monitor (see picture), too soon for a high quality product. I need the monitor for professional use, and this is highly distracting. Now all monitors can develop problems, that is why I was glad I purchased a professional oriented monitor with a long warranty.
Boy was that not the case. The replacement arrived about 3 weeks after, it was poorly packed, and arrived already broken (and pre-used, though this in of itself is OK). How ridiculous to send a broken monitor!
Had to go back through the warranty process.
Here comes the kicker. The monitor ships from the US and I'm in Canada. Philips did not declare the second replacement as a warranty replacement, nor did they pay the duties. A month after receiving the monitor I got a bill for $104.78 for a monitor for which I HAVE ALREADY PAID!
That was two months ago, and after numerous calls to Philips, where they admit this is their mistake, they still have not clarified with Fedex, or paid the duties. Fedex is threatening to send me to a collection agency since the monitor shipped to my address.
Do you really want to pay the premium for a "professional" monitor with a long warranty when the service is poor and the warranty can cost you 100s of dollars more through negligence???
