    First Mechanical and Ten-key-less
Bought because I wanted a ten keyless so I would have more mouse room. I don't like clicky sounding switches, and this one is comparable to membrane switch sound with a bit more sensitivity/easier to click keys faster.I'm glad the software allows you to dim the light on the front. An added bonus I didn't expect was the media function keys. In the program it has you set a program, I chose iTunes and I can skip songs while I'm still in Overwatch or something. When using the function keys too quickly, it puts iTunes in a loop of skipping ahead. Only thing I can do to fix it is task manager and kill iTunes. So long as you're not flying past songs you should be good, still very impressed how much easier it made using my setup.- EDIT: It turns out it was just due to me lifting off the function key before lifting the F7(Audio Next) key, hence loop of switching. just make sure you got it done before lifting function, and it it does happen, just hit the pause shortcut and wait for it to stop(The sooner the better but no rush, it will stop) Stupid simple lolFor some reason. The symbols on keys are flipped, kinda weird I guess. It made me think a couple times. So far this is the best keyboard for my needs. 5 stars.

Top reviews from the United States

Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2016
I really LOVE this keyboard; and I'm not DELIRIOUS...it has FLAWS, and I love it despite those flaws...let me explain:

You see, My "a" key had problems...making me return the first keyboard after 3 weeks, which led me to a much deeper search into mechanical keyboards within this price range. After some investigation and fiddling, I decided I prefer CHERRY MX BROWNS...these are MY preference, and I believe they give the best combination between tactile feel, and reduced noise.

With that said, once my "a" key started malfunctioning (it would double-type a), I went to bestbuy, checked on newegg, and went on Frys.com in addition to amazon. What I found was that amazon and best-buy have managed to narrow the market down to some of the best for keyboards carrying cherry mx browns in this price range. I found 4 keyboards:

    Corsaire Strafe
    Rosewill Rk9000v2-BR
logitech 710 (I found it at bestbuy for 89 so I figured it's a comparable price range)
    coolermaster (CM) SKG

The Rosewill, I stayed away from, because many reviewers noted issues with the cord's connectivity, and that it's very fragile/temperamental.

the Corsaire, TRUE to some of the more critical reviewers upon testing, had a very NOISY space-bar. I went to best buy to test it, and you literally hear "clink clink clink" every time you hit it. I cannot imagine typing on it for hours without going nuts.

The Logitech 710 was VERY high quality BUT DID NOT GIVE ANY TACTILE FEEDBACK. They say it has cherry mx brows and maybe I'm uninformed but I don't understand how there is such a big differenc. It honestly doesn't even feel like the same key as what's on the corsair or razer, with the same cherry mx browns. Good keyboard, but it doesn't feel, in my opinion, like a mechanical keyboard should.

The CM keyboard, is not tournament style, and offers in-optimal hand positioning for gamers. It may be worth looking into, but that was more or less why I crossed it off.

I also tried a keyboard from a certain Vic Tsing company that only amazon carries(Not sure if that is spelled right) and their keyboard was a cheap knockoff of the razer; the keys felt loose...even though the frame was almost full metal, and the overall construction felt sturdy. It was around the same price range.

Overall for ~80 bucks, the keyboard gives PHENOMENAL performance, in my opinion, compared to the competition. It does what it's supposed to, and as long as you spend like the ~$7 on the extended warranty in case a key craps out, I think it's well worth the money. There are better mechanical keyboards out there, but I'm not sure how much better you could do for ~$80.
Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2017
I purchased a Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth in 2012 with Cherry MX Brown switches. I really enjoyed that keyboard more than Cherry MX Blues because I found that the actuation force needed on keys that you hit off-center (like the enter key) was far less. I found with Blues, under normal lazy typing conditions, I don't really press keys down hard enough to consistently get a response from larger keys like the enter button, but that all changed with the Browns.

I ended up donating that Blackwidow for various reasons, but now I have, yet again, a need for a mechanical keyboard and I opted for this one. This is my first time with the Razer Orange switches and I must say they are a step above the cut with the Cherry switches.

I've read so many reviews about how Razer has "copied" Cherry MX switches for their own gain but really, after using the brown switches for 4 years, I cannot speak highly enough of Razer's orange switch. It really is delightful to type on these keys! They are smooth as butter, they require very little effort to type on, yet they benefit from the confidence of a mechanical keystroke.

I've been typing almost exclusively on membrane-style chicklet keyboards for well over a year now, and by comparison, this mechanical keyboard just blows it out of the water.

I often do typing speed tests to keep up my muscle memory and with chicklet style keyboards, I tend to max out at about 95 wpm with a 90% accuracy. My first night with this keyboard and I averaged 115wpm at a 97% accuracy over several races. These keyboards are truly not a fad, they really make a difference!

Of course, while gaming, it's great to have the larger key height and active feedback of a keypress so I know that I've done what I intend in the game. It's amazing how much more I have to pay attention to the key presses on a chicklet style keyboard versus this one.

I cannot say enough about this key switch from Razer. The oranges really are the way to go if you want something quieter and easier on the fingers!

I'm new to mechanical keyboards - I've only used them for a few hours here and there, but I'm really enjoying mine!
It's got a very light tactile bump... Much less so than an MX Blue or Brown or the equivalent clones and , but the actuation is SO nice and shallow.
The keycard get grease marks easily and the keycard wobble a little. It's got some bulk, which is great and all-in-all it's great for the price - got mine at CAD87

This keyboard, for the most part, fit my needs perfectly.

    Pros:
    - Not as loud and clicky as the blue switches
    - If you're looking for compact, this is it
    - Mechanical, NOT membrane
    - Build quality and great cable included
    - Included carrying case
    - Works great both on Windows and Mac
    - Visually appealing

    Cons:
    - Does not light up with the exception of caps lock, scroll lock, macro button, and gaming mode.
    - PERSONALLY: Still too loud for my use. I'm a late night gamer and need to play without bothering the missus. I hoped to get a mechanical-feeling keyboard without the noise, however, it is still distinct and audible.

    User dependent:
    - Razer Synapse software. You will either love it or hate it. For me, it's worked perfect and all macro or re-programmed keys are executed flawlessly.

I advise buyers to be wary of reviews since the review beside 'Razer inc.' of 4.5 stars is the AVERAGE of reviews for all their products. The review below is for the: " Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition Stealth Keyboard - Quiet Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with a Compact Layout "

It does not provide 'Quiet Mechanical Gaming ' and as posted in the photos below, the cover of this keyboard said that it's 'SILENT' which it clearly is not. To be precise, it is not silent at all and in fact it is very loud. This is just straight up faulty description. My used gaming keyboard is much quieter and my $18 keyboard is also much quieter (Please views the posted videos for the comparison). This keyboard cannot be worth $100; it might be $50-70 but only because it's compact and it has Razer Synapse technology.

In addition, the keys of this keyboard have atleast 2cm height which is absurd since the keyboard already is heavy and the base has it's own height.
All in all, I am disappointed with this keyboard. I did not expect Razer to provide such a misleading description on their amazon webpage.
