Ultra High Definition and High Pixel DensityAOC's U3277PWQU features a 32-inch class professional, high-quality, non-glare VA panel for fast refresh. Ultra High Definition (UHD) allows users to see more on the screen at one time; it gives more 'real estate' and also shows more detail for sharper and more brilliant images. A 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution is four times a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. Whether working on the next beautiful photo, design, or even just for productivity, users will appreciate the true crisp image from a UHD display. |
VA Panel for Wide Viewing AnglesVA panel gives 178/178 degree viewing angle while maintaining consistent image quality and colors from all viewing positions. VA panel has true 8-bit color depth that results in incredible color accuracy. The screen itself has a matte anti-glare coating that won't leave fingerprints or smudges. VA is perfect for graphic designing, video editing, photo retouching, amongst others. You can also view your spreadsheets or weekend movies from virtually any angle without compromising color uniformity. |
Over 1 Billion ColorsThe 10-bit panel boasts 1.07 billion colors. The Frame-Rate-Control (FRC) technology is used to enhance the color depth of the 8-bit panel and boosting the normal 16.7 million colors found in most displays, to 1.07 billion colors. More colors means the panel can present more depth and richer color, producing more colorful and vivid images. |
Flicker-Free Technology for Reduced Eye Fatigue
The normal LED-backlit monitors adjust brightness using PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). This causes flicker although human eyes can’t see it easily, it still causes discomfort over long periods of time. Flicker-free technology is using DC (Direct Current) backlight system to provide more comfortable and healthy viewing.
Connectivity and Features You Need in a Monitor

Setup out of the box is pretty straight-forward. This model comes with three video cables: an HDMI cable, a DP cable, and (I think) a mini-DP cable. Additionally, it comes with a power cable and a standard 3.5mm sound cable.
There are two additional pieces to the monitor: a rather heavy stand base and a VESA-compatible mount that connects the two. I was pretty surprised by the heavy weight of the base, though it also quickly allayed my fears that the monitor might be top-heavy. The mount was also easy to attach to the base and the monitor.
The base has a turntable underneath that is not overtly conspicuous, and if I hadn't accidentally put my hand on it during the mounting process I might not have realized it was there. The turntable makes it much easier to turn the monitor when necessary, though it's so heavy that it really isn't that easy to move. I think it's there just to make turning a little easier. I like it.
The stand is height adjustable, going almost all the way down to the desk and stretching a solid 8" or so higher than that. I find the tilt to be on the generous side and should be enough for most any seating situation. As mentioned earlier, technically it swivels, though it isn't designed to and I wouldn't recommend getting a monitor this size if that is a function you need. This stand does not pivot [portrait-to-landscape] (most don't).
The footprint of the base is larger than I expected, larger than average, but it's sturdy. Expect to need about 7-8" of clearance from wall to monitor face. This can be alleviated by using you own VESA mount-and-stand that you already know has less need of room.
The speakers are quite adequate for any necessary sound, but I use headphones almost always. If you're looking for nice sound, you should be investing in quality external speakers or headphones anyway.
As for the monitor itself, I have been very pleased that it has had no dead pixels show up in the last 10 days or so since I purchased it. The video is clear and beautiful, and though I have no need to check the color for balance, I don't see any reason to adjust it.
The advertised 4ms response time looks to be true, and casual gamers will be pleased with how games look on this monitor. If you really need to adjust the settings, the buttons are adequately confusing (which seems to be the norm du jour on technology these days) and you'll duly get used to them with some trial and error.
This should go without saying, but I see a lot of reviews on various monitors that address this, so I will. For a 4k resolution model (3840 x 2160), you need to have a motherboard and a graphics card in your computer plus a cable from such card that can handle a resolution this high. I had no issues with the DP cable as the computer booted with the connection from a Radeon RX 580 straight to the monitor as if it had always been there.
If your graphics card is not rated for 2160 vertical resolution, then this monitor (or any 2160p monitor) is not for you. A 1440p connection will look very jagged on here, and 1080p monitors are so cheap now that you might as well opt for one of those instead.
While we're in the Goes-Without-Saying category let me just add that a high resolution like this will make most text look smaller. There are ways to make text appear bigger in most apps and it usually doesn't take much to do it. Also I sometimes read about a few people who complain that they have to turn their heads to look at different places on the monitor. Yes, that's normal. It's a very nice problem to have.
What you get in return is finer pixelation that makes the picture look very sharp and pleasing and the space to have multiple windows open in each corner that look "normal size". The primary purpose for my purchase is for the real estate that this 32" monitor provides for my composition work. It is the equivalent of having four up-to-date 16", 1080p monitors, and it's really nice. I can have the four corners filled by a spreadsheet, a word processor document, a sheet music file, and browser window... all at the same time. Again, not just a nice property of this monitor, but of any 32" monitor at 2180p.
With that, this AOC is a good monitor that is not cheaply made while still at a good price point for its specs and quite deserving of its five stars.
I also LOVE that this monitor can be used vertically as well as horizontally (see photos). That's a credit to the mounting arm I bought, but my Mac also had a setting for rotating the orientation of the monitor, so that's a quick setting change any time I want to flip it vertically for a while and then back again to horizontal. Note: in my photos, the monitor looks way brighter and washed out than in real life (taking a photo of a monitor with my phone yields inaccurate color/brightness), but in real life it's perfect, with a slew of adjustment settings to fine tune it.
Overall excellent monitor, totally worth the price.

Overall excellent monitor, totally worth the price.
-Reasonable price for the size and resolution
-Crisp at 4k, quite good at 1440p
-Comes with a cable for each type of hookup (HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, etc.)
-Generous height and pivot adjustments
-Solid base, takes more than a stray breeze to move the monitor
-Matte screen helps minimize reflection & glare from other light sources
-Good screen quality with vibrant colors and dark blacks
-Power indicator is easy to see but not overly bright
Cons -
-A little cumbersome to affix the base to the monitor (weight/size)
-Colors aren't the most accurate when compared to higher end models
-A bit of a light halo around the borders at times
Overall -
Extremely pleased with the purchase, given the price and the relatively low number of products available at this size/resolution. Went from a 32" 1080p TV to this for my computer, and I forgot how much I missed the faster resolution changes / alt-tabbing from fullscreen. I'd advise anyone looking for a professional graphics editing monitor to try this one out in person, ensure it meets your needs, but for gaming and regular consumer video viewing I'd say it's quite good and worth strong consideration.
Update: Upgraded to a GTX1050TI card, and added a second U3277PWQU 4K monitor on a VESA arm mount on the wall, to display my 3 security cameras, and a live weather radar. Original monitor is still working great, and its so handy to have the USB 3.0 ports on the side of the monitor, as my computer is under the desk, and a pain to reach around trying to find the front USB ports on it. Added it to my UPS, and it draws about 50 watts.
About to buy a 3rd one for a family member to hook her 4K PS4 and computer up to.
Will update if I find any cons, but right now, all appears great. This monitor is on the right in the picture.

Genial para profesionales que necesitan la calidad, resolución, tamaño, pero no pueden gastar una fortuna.
However, viewing angles are pretty bad. This is especially annoying since the vertical viewing angle is really bad and the monitor is so big. If I leave the screen straight at a normal height, the bottom of the screen has washed out colors. So you have to tilt the screen back so the angle of the screen "fixes" viewing angles and makes the colors more uniform. This monitor has some kind of anti-glare coating, which in general could be a good thing, except I can actually see it all the time. It's like you're looking through a kind of sparkly film, especially at an angle... which, again, because of the size of the screen means it's basically always visible on a portion of the screen. The worst part, however, is the build quality. You can tell immediately that it's made of poor quality materials... squeezing the bezel has a lot of give, it creaks, and some spots feel like it might break if I squeeze too hard. Even worse though, it looks old and worn out of the box. There's a "metal" strip that runs along the bottom (it has the logo and the icons for the 5 screen control buttons). It's just glued on, and there's an area that keeps popping off and bubbling (see the picture). Also, the screen hinge is not aligned to the base (harder to take a picture of, but included it anyway). So if I make the base straight, the screen is not centered to my eyes (the left side is further from me than the right side). If I straighten the screen, the base always looks like it's crooked. I know that's a minor issue, but it really bugs me.
Because of the size of this screen (the box is absolutely massive... bigger than most TVs) I can't be bothered to do a return. Especially since it took 3 weeks for Amazon to ship this to me. I can't afford to be without a monitor for another 3 weeks. So I'll live with it I guess.
It's an ok screen if you get it on sale like I did. But as a designer who is used to working with good screens, I wanted to share a more accurate review to balance out all the ones who say this monitor is amazing. It's not. It's just adequate at best.
