This is a super big monitor, but it's pretty nice. It has a sleek design and nice color choice. Imagine- You have a room with all light colors. You might not want a standard black-colored PC or Monitor. Dell should design more monitor colors! I had to blow a bit of money on this just for the design. I don't regret it, though. This monitor has really nice specs.
Immediate reaction was - I should not pay any attention to a negative reviews and buy Dell’s U2718Q 4K monitor! After 10 months of use, I am pretty happy with my S2719DM. It looks more fresh and less boring as above mentioned 4K monitor; has a beautiful design, but unfortunately lacks useful ports. The image quality is excellent. I use it in pair with older FullHD 22" Samsung TN panel and Dell looks stunning in comparison. I'll enjoy working on this classy, borderless, bright, and thin monitor on my desk and, when time comes, I'll replace it with the most recent (probably ultrawide QLED) monitor.
I never leave reviews, but this monitor is sweet. I bought it used and it's in mint condition and works perfectly. I bought a Phillips 1080p monitor before this and the picture quality was horrible. This monitor is super thin, very easy to move, made with high-quality materials, and has a great picture. It does kind of stink how there are no speakers, but there is an aux port and I use Bluetooth soundbar anyways. Also, it could be used for gaming, but it's not great.
In my deep experience with monitors Dell has always been one of the best companies for solid all around panels. The one thing keeping this from the 5 star rating is the price. Being that the 1080p panel is around 150$ cheaper on average I feel like this one should go down about 100 bucks.
Backstory: I switched to these after discovering a massive issue when pairing a 144hz monitor with a 60hz. If you do anything GPU related on the 60hz (Me being a massive multi-tasker I'm pretty much always doing something on the second one while gaming) your 144hz monitor suffers many hiccups lowering it's performance to sync with and match the 60hz making your overall performance very unstable. I'm honestly shocked I haven't seen tech channels cover this as all over the internet I see people recommend pairing a gaming panel with a 60hz. DON'T DO IT. Just get 2 144hz or multiple 75hz like this if you can't afford the higher end. I refused to get 2 700$ monitors so I got 3 of these on sale for 300$ each.
Pros: +Colors are amazing +Performance has been solid. It's not as smooth as a 144hz when it's working at 144hz but overall my experience has been much more solid on this than my previous high end gaming monitor. Fast sync with Nvidia also helps boost the performance feel better than 75hz. + Dell provides fabulous build quality.
Cons: - Dell didn't include their base-stand 12w speakers. Thus when not using headphones I have to use desktop speakers and I prefer less on my desk. At this price point they should have added the features of the cheaper 2718 series models. - The monitor response time is 8ms as opposed to developing a standard 5. You can up it in the settings but the reason they do it that way is because they do not wish to guarantee the quality panel to panel. Some panels may have ghosting when using the "fast" setting. Mine work though. So this criticism is for those who aren't as lucky.
I love this product very much. I work on a Macbook Pro 2016 13", thought my posture was suffering and got this beautiful model (check on the one with the USB-C charging port. You won't regret the extra bucks).
I use it for everyday office work, music editing on Logic Pro and Playstation gaming. And it looks stunning and fitting my decor style.
I didn’t purchase this monitor from Amazon, but from Best Buy. I returned the first, and will be returning the second in a couple of days.
My advice, stay away from this monitor.
The first one had dead and stuck pixels both within the first three days of operation. Returned the first monitor to a different Best Buy store just in case it was a problem with my original monitor’s production run. Figured a replacement from another store wouldn’t be defective as well. I was wrong.
Hooked up the second monitor, and powered it up. Dead pixels within the first 30 minutes of use.
I don’t know if it’s just a bad production run, or if this model is defective all around. In either case, I will not bother with a third one of this model.
