Customers are mixed about the brightness of the monitor. Some mention that it has great brightness with no backlight bleed, and high brightness makes everything seem to pop. Setup an Installation was easy. The mount and arm came on in 5 minutes. The monitor came with a DisplayPort cable that supports HDR10, so that was a welcome addition.
Turning the monitor on, surprisingly, was a bit of an issue, and my only real problem with the monitor. The cylinder connector that powers the monitor is very stiff, and you have to apply some pressure to fix it in, even though the connector doesn't go through all the way. It took me some time to realize this as the monitor wouldn't turn on.
The monitor is very versatile. The vertical viewing angles can be adjusted, and the height itself can be adjusted a lot. In addition, the monitor can be put in portrait.
The 144Hz monitor means very smooth gameplay. Games like Rainbow Six Siege and CS:GO feel just so much more responsive. And it really can make the difference in close encounters with enemies.
And Freesync makes such a huge difference as well. Before, I had so much trouble with screen tearing in games, especially 3rd person shooters like GTA V, that I had to turn on Vsync. Of course this led to performance issues. Now I can get a smooth experience without any of Vsync's downsides.
Even though the primary aspects of gaming monitors are response time and refresh rate, this monutor's picture quality is superb as well. The 350 nit display makes very crisp bright whites. The 99% sRGB reproduction makes this great for amateur photo and video editing. Of course, the brightness band 10-bit color allow for HDR10. Now, I don't see HDR as a huge reason to buy this monitor. Windows 10's default HDR is broken. I tried turning it on and got a really gross screen, with text seemingly at a lower resolution. And if you have an AMD graphics card, you won't be getting any Netflix HDR. I tried and couldn't get it. Apparently it's only for Intel iGPU's and Nvidia cards. But playing games like Battlefield and Resident Evil in HDR is quite nice.
Overall it's a great buy, and sits comfortably as a mid-range monitor. There are probably cheaper 144 Hz monitor, but I think the 10 bit color and HDR 10 of this could justify the price for you.
This monitor kicked the bucket on me yesterday (2/3/24). It was doing what it does best, and all of a sudden the screen went black but the backlight was still on. It froze like that for about 3 seconds and then turned off. I haven't seen a light on it since. I even tested the power brick but, sure enough, 19V steady.
I'm sure it's just one chip on the circuit board that burnt out, but that's the end of the road for now. Made it damn near 4 years, but not quite. Guess I should have bought the 4-year coverage!
May your catchy and highly-memorable name live on in the memory of man for eternity. RIP LG 27GL650F-B. Rest in b****es.

A few major caveats worth noting though, the HDR mode is quite gimmicky and does not hold up with actual HDR content, the 1080p resolution might limit this for some who want it for mainly content creation or consumption purposes, and having no built in speakers is a bit of a downside.
Overall I absolutely recommend this monitor, at this price there isn't a better option on the market. I hope this was helpful :)
Pd. No llegó con pixeles muertos, cuando la pantalla está oscura o negra en los bordes se aprecia un poco de iluminación, pero es casi imperceptible o al menos a mi no me llega a molestar. Pero creo que ese tipo de defectos pueden ser aleatorios.
Packing was great, they ensured that monitor shouldn't be damaged or broke in the transit.
This monitor is really good, I use this for sole purpose of gaming, at first (initially) I was hesitant due to it's sheer size, I was wondering if 27inchs is top big for 1080p resolution, but no this monitor has proved me wrong there's no tearing or blurred picture while playing games, textures look great, there's no such opposed to pixelation on this set, moreover it's stand is ergonomically made for gamers, which was another plus point of it.
HDR may not be the best experience for this monitor, as of HDR requirements you need at least 400nits of brightness which this monitor has, even so HDR does make pictures slightly crisper, but not by much as it's not a certified DisplayHDR400 screen, I'd say 400nits is entry-level HDR at best, yeah you could use this on the monitor, but I'd suggest to not, because in some games HDR implementation is not even "average" it's bad. If you really just want to game on HDR then sure but it won't be a true HDR experience like on Oled screens, they are best for HDR experience, so as far as cost is concerned HDR is prolly not worth it to pay extravagantly high amount for a real HDR monitor/TV, only if you can afford then it's one of the best technology, but expensive. I'd say 600nits is sweet spot for HDR gaming but 1000nits is what you want for true HDR, however 600nits is also very fine, 400nits is not.....
This monitor comes with G-SYNC compatibility and has received Nvidia certification as G-SYNC capable panel, it really does what it says, games feel so smooth, even at lower fps, I've tested with and without HDR and difference is massive, there's so much input lag present with G-SYNC disabled it is unbearable to me, variable refresh-rate is game changer here. This monitor as I can see prompting to the settings says "FreeSync Premium" which means it is AMD certified too, so maybe that as well adds up on to give you smooth gaming experience, and also with G-SYNC enabled I have observed that I got slight boost in fps too, like 5 - 10fps which is just too good, Nvidia has done some serious work here for us gamers to deliver top notch gaming experience for AAA/RPGs gamers that want few more frames, though it is redundant in competition games where you mostly tend to be 120+fps. I appreciate Nvidia for implementing G-SYNC, thank you.
Colors are just fine, not the best, I'd not get this monitor for editing purpose, it lacks many colors and wrongs in many ways with colors, in rare cases in-game while gaming colors can be overexposed mostly WHITES tend to do so. Don't know why, but for gaming it provides enough color gamut of 99% SRGB yeah look for some other monitor with DCI-P3 gamut that has many more colors present and is winder than 99% SRGB.
All in all perfect gaming monitor that has 144hz refresh-rate, would definitely recommend to anyone who's keen to upgrade monitor and are still on 1080p like me.
Cheers!
Altamente recomendado.
