Motherboard: Z390 Aorus Ultra
GSkill Trident Z Neo: 2x16Gb 3600Mhz 16-16-16-36 RAM
Cooling: EKWB Monoblock, 240mm and 360mm SE Rads and some other stuff (see pic of RGB barf)
Temps: Idle mid 20's, close to ambient. Under CPU Synthetic load mid to high 60's, when GPU is loaded as well (gaming) it will climb to mid 70's but that is because I've side mounted my GPU and my case is known for cooking GPU's anyway.
R23 Score all core - 13240 @ 5Ghz
R15 Score all core - 2134 (2153 @ 5.1Ghz, so not a huge bump at the expense of longevity hence not bothering trying to stabilise it)
Given CPU prices lately I'm extremely happy with the purchase!

Given CPU prices lately I'm extremely happy with the purchase!
Other than Apple's interesting choice in CPU retention (only uses the unweildy heat sync, so you have to be really careful attaching it), it's a straightforward drop in replacement.
Not much more to say really. It works. Heat hasn't really increased much at all.
So far it has been a worthwhile upgrade.
I saw a few 1 starts of people complaining about getting fake/used cpu's, so it made this purchase feel like that much mroe of a gambal.
What I got was real (at least if it is fake, they went all out to make sure every single detail, down to each pin, matched perfectly. So I'm sure it's real).
The package was not wrapped, but was sealed using intel tape (pretty typical from what I've seen before). The box was slightly damaged, but nothing that would effect the cpu, and nothing that can't be explained by a long shelf-like pre-sale.
It is 2022, and I don't think intel is still making 9900's. So even if it is used, so long as it preforms well enough that I can't tell, I'll take it.
Will update when installed tomorrow.
Top reviews from other countries
The 8-core, 16-thread architecture of the i9-9900K ensures seamless multitasking, effortlessly handling resource-intensive applications, gaming, and content creation with ease. It's a beast of a processor that never breaks a sweat, even under heavy workloads.
Gaming on the i9-9900K is an absolute joy. It provides smooth frame rates, eliminates stuttering, and drastically reduces loading times, creating an immersive gaming experience like no other. This CPU truly lets you unleash the full potential of your high-end graphics card.
Hard to be beter than that. This i9 is fast and stable in my rig. No need to overclock. Stay cool with Noctua NH-U12A cooler. Good to run any 30xx GPU and any demanding software.
The value price vs performance si not the best. For having poceded myself, an i5 9600K or an i7 9700k represent beter value. Of course less strong and less fast than the i9 but the gap is not that big. I'm the first supprise of the great capacity of smaller intel CPU at less cost.
So go with your needs or your budget. The i9 9900k is the top of the top. Not everybody need-it.
