Product Description

Used to be, if you wanted to experience FPV (First Person View) flight, you had to piece together a system yourself. Once you did, you then had to figure out how to make everything work together. The Spektrum VS1100 Ultra Micro FPV System eliminates all the guesswork by giving you everything you need in one box. Camera, headset, batteries, charger - it's all there, all compatible and can be ready to go in minutes.

Spektrum VA1100 Ultra Micro FPV Camera
This amazing bit of Spektrum technology combines an FPV camera, transmitter and antenna in a single unit no bigger than a thimble. Installation is easy and can be done in seconds. No soldering or special skills are required. You simply attach it to your model and plug in a 1S battery (sold separately). A Y-harness connector is included if you want to eliminate the weight of a separate battery and power the camera with the same 1S flight battery that powers the aircraft.

- Signal range suitable for ultra micro aircraft
- Compatible with 5.8GHz Fat Shark headsets
- Requires 1S LiPo battery, sold separately
- Powered separately or by aircraft battery
- No 2.4GHz RC interference

for anyone starting out in fpv this is a nice set. the one thing i wish they would have included was a battery for the camera. i ended up using the y connector that comes with it and changed one of the ends to a end that a hubsan quad-copter would use, so i could use my other battery's. those batteries are 380mah so i get a long duration of time to use before having to recharge the battery. super simple setup.

could not get it to work headset very uncomfortable

I really wanted to like these. I bought one pair and sent them back because there was a large spot in the goggle lens and you could not see anything. The replacements didn't have a spot, but didn't even get to put it on an aircraft because the camera seemed to quit. So, now I have a useless pair of goggles. I refuse to spend another penny on it and probably won't buy from Horizon Hobby again. Not the first time I have ordered from them and received less than satisfactory merchandise.

The Spektrum FPV system is a great beginner kit for those who are interested in flying FPV, you can always get a better camera later once you feel more comfortable flying through FPV goggles. The Fatshark Goggles themselves are decent but there are better versions, this one is not as immersive as some of the other FPV headsets out on the market. But overall I am pretty pleased with my purchase, I plan to use the micro FPV camera that came with the kit on a separate micro Quadcopter that I plan on building in the near future.

It does come with pretty much everything you'll need to get started flying FPV

First I would like to start of by saying that this set up is very easy to use. No experience required to set up running just make sure you buy the eflite 1s battery for the camera I almost plugged in a 1s battery for a mini quad to notice the plugs fit in perfectly but the positive and negative led were opposite could have shortaged the transmitter on the camera. 2nd if you plan on using this for a qav250 don't. Save your self the money and buy a camera and transmitter seperate from the goggles. You won't get more than 50 yards on a really good day on an open field. On the bright side the camera itself has great quality could fpv on a medium lighted parking lot with perfect quality. They were meant to be used on mini quads and unfurtonetly you can't travel from one room to another because 5.8ghz wont penetrate thru most objects and with weak powered transmitter you won't get that far. As for the goggles they are great, but if you really want to feel the luxury of fpving or if you're in it for the long run grab a dominitor or attitude best bang for your buck. Besides that great goggles for the fun or first time experience.

Bought this for my son and we love it. It can work with a lot of other equipment and has the features we wanted for a VERY good package deal price. The range of the small camera is decent, but keep in mind that anything higher powered requires a ham radio license... and WAY too many people running illegally high power with FPV stuff. The license isn't hard to get or expensive- and when some bored ham radio nerds frequency hunt you and report you to the FCC... it might get REALLY expensive for you. I've heard them talk about intercepting and recording the video and giving it to the FCC. The FCC loves to prosecute people... they're sadistic.
That being said, this is a great starter set as it has all you need. You will likely want to get more complex and move into other gear eventually, but this is a great way to get started and will still be useful gear once you get more involved in the hobby.
If you wear glasses, they sell a diopter kit that may allow you to focus properly with this headset, although in my case I can't get a clear focus even with the diopter kit. I might make my own inserts out of some two dollar reading glasses.

The video quality of the picture was very substandard. There is no way I would even attempt to control any FPV with this equipment. I have a better quality video/picture feed on a Quadcopter that cost less then this system.
