    Best "mini PC" out there. I have tried other models that either where too slow or die within a week. This PC has lasted a while now without any issues at all. I use to for portable photoshop, running universal media server for my network movies and to browse the internet. I Knew the limitations prior to buying it so I know this won't give me the power of a Mac.6-24-21 update: After exactly 3 years the mini PC die on me. It was good while it work.

    Azulle continues to make an affordable fanless option. As an owner of their previous Quantum Byte, the Byte3 is a step up in performance. Its main usage is as a HTPC coupled to a 4k UHD TV and audio receiver via HDMI to run video and audio content. The PC works well when running at 2160p 60hz (UHD 4K), it plays video content very well at this resolution over HDMI 2.0, no lag, no loss of signal. Don't expect to play current high demand CPU/GPU content games with this machine, or you will be disappointed. Emulation and playing of older NES, SNES, and N64 games works very well, as do lower demand games like Doom, etc.. The system does have a separate Intel HD Graphics 500 GPU, which helps with 2160p content, as well as the Quad Core Intel Apollo Lake (Celeron) N3450 CPU. The M.2 and SATA support are huge benefits. A 525GB Crucial M.2 card has been installed (formats to 488GB) and works seamlessly with the system. Overall the miniPC has performed very well, within reasonable expectations. It fills a niche at just under $200. If you want something that is more powerful you're going to have to step up to small system build, like an Intel NUC; but you're going to paying twice the price. The included remote helps with pausing/starting content, but you'd be best to couple the system with a wireless keyboard/mouse pad combo and you are in business.

    We're a a small office with 5 Windows 10 PCs: 4 older, upgraded machines, and one pre-installed Azuul Byte 3, so we well know how bad Windows 10 can be. Depending on age, processor, and memory size, our 5 old machines operate erratically, fail regularly, and show some or all the other well documented widows 10 problems. The Azuul Byte 3 however is a disaster all to itself. Along with its grindingly slow processor (a shock after all of those ace reviews), come the full complement of reported Windows 10 drawbacks and then some. Most irritating is the tendency to lose communication with connected devices; drives, printers, and so on without warning so that programs simply stop working or the computer itself crashes. Of course, this is readily solved by rebooting the machine, but how long has it been since we considered rebooting once or twice a day to be a routine task?

    Next in line horror is the machines tendency to fall asleep and/or hibernate at odd intervals, and fail to properly recover, again without rebooting. In fact these two problems have reduced us with the Azuul to the practice, unknown since Windows 95, of turning off the computer overnight and restarting every morning.

    Again, we admit that every problem that we've had with the Azuul, has also occurred from time to time in other machines upgraded to Windows 10. But, only in the Azuul, do all of Windows 10's hang-ups occur to the worst extent, and most of the time. Windows 10 may be the root problem, but the Azuul, our newest machine, does the worst possible job of accommodating them. One has to wonder how deeply those Best Of.. and First Prize.. judges looked into this pretty black box.

    One year later (March 2021) -- we're in the process of replacing the Azuul with a similarly spec-ed PC from a more mainstream manufacturer. Reducing our rating from 2 to 1 star. Weaknesses criticised above have all gotten increasingly worse since installation. The Azuul may be acceptable for a TV set-top box, it simply cannot handle the tasks of being even a low-load office PC.

    End-point (September 2021) -- Now demoted to video/TV set-top player, it failed the Win10 fall update and, while attempting to rollback, crashed, and is now just a pretty, silent, blue "brick". After a lifetime of only 21 months, it will get stuck in the back room, and maybe get Linux Mint installed for some utility task - maybe, probably not.

    Bought this to build a kodi media server for vacation/business trips. Can fit 15 mm high 2.5" SATA HDD (seagate, 120 US$, stripped from USB enclosure), even though its clearly only intended to support 9mm SATA HDD (<= 2TB). Needed to remove the M.2 cooling bracket and glue instead of screw HDD to bottom plate (holes not in correct location). Provided strip works well for this. Have not found another PC of similar size to fit 15mm HDD at all.

    Included Win10 only left 9 GB free on built in 32GB flash after latest Win10 update. Win 10 pro licensing working fine also after update. Installed 120GB M.2 SSD and copied Windows to it (from linux with Clonezilla). Works fine, lots of space available, probably also faster than internal 32GB flash.

    Gets fairly warm, especially HDD when copying, but never crashed on me. Power supply very compact, but manages to power both internal M.2 SSD, internal 2.5" and external USB 2.5" HDD and copying between them without crash. Nice. Ca. 120 MByte/sec transfer speed.

    Linux (Debian) also running fine (dual boot).

    Not tried wifi yet or gaming.

    Negatives:

    The IR remote is a waste because it does not have enough keys to run kodi well and i have not been able to figure out ways to map keys or use another remote on the built-in IR port. So i need to waste the USB 2.0 port for another remote.

    Given how it has space for 15mm HDD, its a shame that its not set up to officially support them.

    8GB memory option overpriced, 64GB flash option overpriced too, but not relevant IMHO, at least not as long as flash is rock bottom priced (120 GB M.2 SSD ~ 35 US$).
