The customer service responded quickly and solved my issue.
The customer service responded quickly and solved my issue.
Then i discovered the brita elite filters which boasted 6 months of life! So i said heck yeah, lets try this out. I didn't even want to continue using my pur filter/pitcher until the filters were used up the taste quality was so much better. I just tossed them and have been using this since.
The brita filter is so good, i filled up 8 5 gallon jugs of filtered water by continuously filling the pitcher and pouring it in and the flow of the filter never slowed down and the taste remained the same even after filtering 40 gallons! If your wondering PUR filters have to be replaced after 30 gallons, they get clogged up so bad that it can take an hour for it to drain the reservoir up top to the bottom.
Another thing i like about this pitcher over pur is how the top stays locked in even while pouring. The pur pitcher has a plastic lid with a flap over the spout that keeps falling off whenever you pour water, you got to hold it down when you pour. Brita has their top locked in place with plastic clamps to prevent this and it works well. This one also doesn't have the spout flap.
Highly recommend, do the switch! Ill be stocking up on some filters soon just to keep them on hand.
There is no seal on the lid of this pitcher, it's just plastic. That's okay, it fits pretty snug. The problem is that for some reason, when you put 10 cups in the pitcher, there is about a cup of it that for some reason remains in the upper reservoir. I've filled it 20+ times and it's always the same. Apparently, there is not enough force of gravity to push that last cup through the filter that is nearly fully submerged in the filtered water below by cup 9. Why does this matter? Here's why:
The instructions provide no warning pertaining to fill lines except it instructs users to fill the upper reservoir only to the "max fill" tab. That tab, I presume, is there to either: (1) Keep the LED indicator mechanism attached to the underside of the lid from being submerged for a long periods of time (something I didn't see a warning against in the instructions for cleaning), or (2) They think people who buy pitchers and pour fluids into things don't understand the basic concepts and consequences of overfilling something with a liquid. It's probably (1), but I sure hope they made that mechanism waterproof since, you know, it's whole life will be working less than an inch from water that moves in close proximity with nothing to keep it from splashing on it as the pitcher is used. Back to the point though, since you have to fill the upper reservoir at least twice to put fill the pitcher to the max 10 cups, you have to go through the process of measuring yourself and seeing where the waterline stops when 10 cups are in the pitcher, then going forward just sort of guess as you use it. Not a deal-killer, but a simple mark on the pitcher would be a big improvement. If there is a mark, and the instructions indicate it, someone will need to point out where because it's not in my instructions and not obvious on the pitcher.
That said, the water tastes great, it works well for us so far, and since none of more expensive brand filters are actually certified, I expect this one filters out lead and other things just as well (or close enough) that it's not a critical difference. Overall happy with the product, just wish there was something other than testing it several times and then eyeballing it that would indicate when it was at max capacity so there you don't overfill and risk unfiltered water from reservoir mixing in with the filtered water as it pours.

All I would say is there are only two of us probably not drinking enough water lol and the filter lasted 4 months.
Wish it was easier to get the replacements in the UK too - couldn't find on Amazon.
Brita UK is a different franchise and basically their water filters and jugs are a waste of time - they don't filter out any contaminants - just make the water 'taste better' whatever that means!

And also to filter out bad particles like lead from water.
Works as expected for me but as its a bigger pitcher it weighs more.
Pros:
- 10 cup - Large capacity
- Came with long lasting filter
- the indicators for filter replacement is good, looks better than the lower models
Cons:
The construction might not be well - when holding on full I feel like it might break.
No equal distribution of weight I felt.
Conclusion: fits the purpose, comes with long lasting filter and is very good price.
Suggestion: be careful when using, if not used with care it might get a crack.
