Overall, I’ve had zero problems. These switches were easy to install and even easier to setup in HomeKit. It took a bit of digging and internet research to find documentation of how to set up and pair the remote switch with the main switch, but I got it done. I also have several Echo Dots. Integration with Alexa and the Alexa app seemed to have a few more steps, but again I got it done.
HomeKit with Siri has a definite advantage over Alexa in the aspect that you can control your lights and switches from any where. With Alexa, you have to be on the same local network and would need the LeGrand app to accomplish this away from home.
Some of the problems I’ve read about are non-existent in my setup. I’ve yet to see any delay when I turn the lights on or off at the wall. It works instantly. I’ve had no issues of the switches going offline and needing to be reset. The switches have been extremely reliable. From my experience, these switches work almost instantaneously with Siri, but have a bit of delay when using Alexa. I’m including a video to show the difference. If anyone has an answer of how to make Alexa respond quicker, I’d be glad to hear.
Throughout my house, I have a combination of 1, 3 and 4 gang setups. I really like the screwless wall plate covers. They make for a better looking finish. Although not the fault of the switch, most people would be surprised of how sloppily the builders install the switch boxes. If the box isn’t installed flush or straight inside the wall, it translates to the wall plates not sitting straight and flush with the wall as well.
Overall, I have no regrets with my purchase and highly recommend them to anyone who’ll listen. This is a very good product.
