About this item
- The Neato D9 has 200 minutes of runtime and can cover up to 1,600 square feet on a single charge, but if your robot needs more time, it it can also auto-recharge and resume to finish the job. Neato works smarter so your floors get cleaned faster.
- Neato's D-shape design reaches dirt where round robots can't—in corners and along walls with its LaserSmart LIDAR technology, the same technology used in self-driving vehicles, to map and navigate your home with precision, leaving your carpets with those satisfying straight vacuum lines.
- Customize your floor plan with Zones that define areas to clean more frequently—or No-Go Zones to identify areas to avoid (like a child's play area or pet food bowls)
- Clean with a Helix Multi-Surface Brush that’s up to 70% bigger than those round robots and 50% quieter on hard surfaces. It’s effective on any surface—hardwood, carpet or tile—so it’s great for any home. Neato’s industry-leading dirt bin, at 0.7 liters, means less frequent emptying.
- Go beyond Eco and use Turbo mode for a deeper clean—Neato D9 offers 40% greater dirt pickup than D3 & D5 (tested in internal labs).

Product Description
Neato D9's 200 minute runtime, covering 1,600 square feet on a single charge, makes it ideal for medium to larger-sized homes. You can't use circles to clean a square corner. That's why Neato's D-shape allows for a 70% larger brush than those found in round robots along with an industry-leading 0.70 liter dirt bin that holds more dirt between cleanings. Neato's D9 offers corner-to-corner and edge-to-edge cleaning in a short amount of time and its unique Helix multi-surface brush is now 50% quieter on hard surfaces. Neato's D9 also offers 40% greater dirt pickup than D3 & D5. The powerful performance combined with an easy-to-clean Ultra-Performance filter traps up to 99.5% of allergens and dust. Equipped with energy-saving Eco Mode for general vacuuming to high-performance Turbo Mode, Neato gets the job done. The Neato D9 uses LaserSmart powered by LIDAR, the same technology used in self-driving vehicles, to map and navigate your home with precision, leaving your carpets with those satisfying straight vacuum lines in no time. Because it uses lasers, not cameras, to navigate your home it works just as well in low light conditions like under furniture and never records images of you and your belongings. It also doesn't have microphones on board and features state-of-the-art encryption both on the robot and in the cloud. With regular software updates sent automatically, you can feel confident you're getting the latest features as soon as they're released. Get cleaning in minutes with Neato’s hassle-free setup using the MyNeato app. Create Zones to target trouble spots more often—like crumbs under the dining table. Create No-Go Zones to avoid spaces such as a pet dish or child’s play area. Clean where you want, when you want—on demand or scheduled in advance. Available in a premium, brushed black finish that fits in with any décor. Let Neato D9 take care of the dirty work. You've got better things to do. The Ultimate Cleaning Machine.

I manually put it back on the charger and waited for it to fully charge again. I wanted to see if it would do the same thing on a 2nd run. Much like the first time we used it. The 2nd run was a similar repeat. Still couldn't clean the other side of the home even though it got 95% over the transition. Instead, it backs up and ignores that area. It finished cleaning in our bedroom and I kept checking on it. I heard no vacuum sound only the wheels as you'd normally expect when it's finished with cleaning and heading back to the charger. My wife has a desk chair in our bedroom and it was doing the same backup and slamming into the side of the chair. Over and over for several minutes. When It did finally decide to come out, it went right to the charger and spun around in front of it a few times, then left the area and was heading back to the bedroom. I'd had enough at this point. I was convinced this bot was getting returned and would be my last Neato product ever. The fact that it couldn't enter the other part of my home was already a deal breaker and I did see the mediocre reviews on the D9 and the overall complaints and weak satisfaction with the company as well. What a shame, you'd expect the products to improve and get better but it appears the opposite with Neato. If you have an older product it's likely going to outperform their newer products because they didn't put the same quality, care, and workmanship into their newer stuff. :( RIP Neato!. It's been real!.
First purchase: Got a DOA -- dead on arrival. Unit wouldn't function whatsoever, just pulsed all lights together. Finally got a replacement.
Replacement unit: Worked for the first week! Was super excited. However... it basically got stuck every single run. Nothing crazy, just seems to have really bad algorithms for getting out of tight spots. Definitely almost flipped itself when it tried to vacuum underneath the vacuum chair.... but that's the chairs fault. You'd think it would have an accelerometer, and know when it's no longer level...... but it doesn't seem to know.
Does a pretty good job with basic vacuuming, although the patterns seems incredibly inefficient. I'd see a little pile of trash bits on the ground, and follow it around excitedly to see it vacuum them up... but somehow, EVERY TIME, it would get close to the pile, then literally stop in the middle of the floor, do a 180, and go the other direction. After watching it long enough, I stopped.... pretty sure it got that little pile, at some point later in the run, but man, you'd think straight lines would be an efficient way to clean....
After a week, it completely stopped working. Same behavior as original DOA unit -- just pulsing lights, won't connect or do anything at all. Attempting to get support to help, we'll see what they do.
At this point, I'm pretty sure these robot vacuums are a gimmick -- at least, this one. Was really excited -- this is just cleaning a basic office space, with low-pile carpet and hard floors, no crazy obstacles, square rooms.
I really hope they replace this one, and it ends up working well... I'll edit the review if it does, of course, but for now, no bueno!
My new D9 seems to have inferior navigating skills from that of my D5. Navigating performance on my D5 is noticeably superior from that of my D9. I trusst neato will improve that with future updates.
