i do have the full line of EPL cameras and early on bought the EVF add-on. while the camera has nice features like the star-trail option i was shocked when i realized that it did not have the port for the EVF. to me it is like someone is selling a car without wheels.
unfortunately i could not return it so i was stuck and tried to love it. i took it as my only camera for a vacation to new zealand. bad idea. NZ like California can have a lots of sun and in that condition now one can convince me that you can work with an LCD only. also i tried to take bird pictures. impossible with LCD only. so not having the EVF port reduces for me the usability by about 50%. i cannot understand the product manager at olympus who made this big mistake. for any halfway serious photographer i would say do not buy that camera.also there is no real improvement in autofocus speed or focus tracking. just not up to par to a real DSLR. I can live with that because i am not a professional sports photographer. as long as i know the limitations of the cameras upfront i can life with it but the missing port was a huge and unexpected surprise to me. also the camera has this nice astro-photography capability it lacks on external power source because you are running out of battery after 1 - 2 hours. ideally olympus could have expanded the astro photography feature by going a little step further and add a full stacking capability in to the camera.
So next time i go on vacation i will take again my EP5 and Zuiko 15-150mm plus EVF as only camera with me.
