From the manufacturer
The VC-E is a compact and very affordable record cleaning machine. Regardless of its size, the VC-E offers a lot of features:
The aluminium surface of the VC-E is able to withstand excessive fluid spill without compromising the chassis.
A clamp seales the record label from cleaning fluid and avoids damage on the label.
The VC-E is super powerful and cleans records in as little as one or two rotations. The very best results are achieved with one rotation forward followed by one backwards.
It turns the record superfast within 2 seconds per rotation, which is about 3 times faster than comparable cleaning machines. The result is a much faster and more effective cleaning process.
The robust metal arm is easy to use, mechanically stable and focuses all suction power directly onto the record surface.
If you are looking for a compact and yet affordable record cleaning machine, the VC-E is definitely your choice.
Our environmental-friendly and non-alcoholic vinyl cleaning concentrate, Wash-IT, offers very good cleaning results and reduces static charge, so record wear and stylus wear are significantly reduced.

The one-step cleaner and brush are pretty good, and the cleaning machine works great especially if you are trying to play old albums. It is a very powerful record cleaner that saves you time, and it vacuums the solution off very adequately.

I purchased open box as I was able to save $65 off of retail. I didn't expect original packaging, and it was available via Prime, but shame on you Amazon. It was literally tossed in a box 5x too big with very little package support. See pics.
I plugged it in an did a basic operational test before I tried to clean an album I didn't want to ruin. I motor operated in both directions w/o issue, and quietly, a plus. I then turned the vac and it seem to "suck". So on to the clean test...
I took a really bad and thin Bowie album and ran it through the cleaning operation on both sides. It worked as I wanted it to. On to a not so cherished album and another test. This one also cleaned up very well and played with almost no noise and popping. On to yet another album and yeah, it worked too.
Finally on to one an album I purchase used on eBay and have anxiously been waiting for a cleaner to play. It was filthy when it arrived. See before and after pics. After both sides were cleaned, on to my turntable it went and I'm listening it to it now. It sounds great, so far, so very good.
I have a few dozen used albums that need cleaning, which I'll do this weekend an post another update afterwards.
SUMMARY: Works as I hoped it would, but I need to run it thought it's paces to make sure there was no damage inflicted during shipping. Shame, shame, shame on the team the "re-boxed" it, or rather tossed it in a box w/ insufficient packing.

Con: It doesn’t seem to do an awesome job. I thought this would be the answer to all my record cleaning dreams but I’m just not having that kind of results. The directions that come with it aren’t super specific on the best technique to use so I went online to discussion boards and you’ll get more varying opinions there than a person would ever need. A lot of my records still have some surface noise after cleaning (including brand new albums which is frustrating). The clamp that holds the record in place mysteriously slid itself off the table and fell just a few feet and smashed to pieces. The clamp is VERY cheap plastic, explodes with the slightest impact and is expensive to replace. Definitely disappointing for something at this price.
TL;DR It does a pretty good job, but not everybody will be 100% satisfied with results. Super cheap record clamp is straight junk so be really careful with it.
First off, anyone who has experienced blow back thru the vent on the bottom of the unit, you don't have to drown the LP to get the results you desire! Even in video's I have watched many that never have experienced this problem. I have done up to 75 LP's back to back with ( no ) splash back and got Great cleaning results! I have the clear vinyl piece to put underneath my lp to stop this and Never once used it. I find once the brush is completely wet you don't need much if any more liquid to get the proper results. As I said you don't have to drown your LP.
Things I have picked up off video's and use every time are #1 ...let the liquid set in for a bit after using the brush in both directions for 3/4 revolutions each direction. Let the liquid set and do what it needs to penetrate deeper into the grooves for a more thorough cleaning before drying...
#2 ..I dry the LP about 4 revolutions each direction , even then I may get a bit of liquid left on the edge of the record or near the label which you'll want to get off due to the possibility of the moisture being left creating mold ..
#3 so you don't get a bit of liquid left on the LP after drying from the vacuum arm , I lift the vacuum arm up off the LP while the vacuum is on during the last revolution of the drying process.
#4 ..After your done drying look at the bottom of the vacuum brush to make sure there's no debris left on it that may damage your next LP that you clean.
#5 this is just me ... but I use De ionized water with my cleaning solution instead of distilled water , reason is and have read this in a few forums and asked a friend of mine with a chemistry degree. Distilled water still has minerals in it that have Ion's still left in the water which can lead to static pops on your LP's
#6 once your cleaning is complete .... don't put that LP back into anything but an anti static sleeve to help for storage until the next listening session, and look for any sign of moisture on the sleeve because it may cause mold and you'll be back to square one where you started.
Over all I couldn't be more happy with my Pro Ject, I find no need to have the bigger unit, mine is smaller/lighter/and does just a great job for less $$.
I'm no expert and I'm not saying this is the holy grail or the only way to go. It's just what works Very Well for me and I thought I'd share my 2cents on the Pro Ject in hopes you get the same great results that I have and will in the future...Cheers Now go play some vinyl
