    The quality of the recording is good in this class and the amount of low frequency is even quite astonishing for such a low profile desktop mic and it can even be improved with the free Rode Connect software. But there's also where the problem start. It needs quite some time to figure out, how this software works. The most important features are totally hidden, and the ones usually not needed are placed very prominent. It will also install a ton of virtual mics and speakers in the system settings which make efficient working difficult when often switching between speakers and headphones. The Rode Connect has to run also all the time (!) when you want to use the built-in DSP enhancements like bass enhancement, exciter, compressor and noise gate. Why is this needed when they claim that the functions are all in the DSP of the mic? Does not make any sense to me. There's definitely something wrong with the design or the built-in DSP does not work properly? I can only guess. But either way - this compromises heavily the user experience and hence I'm not sure if it was a good decision to buy. Also the recording level is very low, which requires to have the audio always on 100% and also the gain boost (which is not a knob on the mic ... also a huge disadvantage) needs to be on the maximum value which is +40db. But then the audio level is decent. At least the DB boost will stay after closing Rode Connect software. But the heavy boost also means a quite high background noise interference. Either requires an absolutely quiet setting or using a noise suppressor software on top. I've been trying to get online support from their website, but usually replies took about 2 weeks with no real added value returned. The only reason why I'm keeping it, is the very unique super low profile with no obstructing LED lights on my desk with a very heavy and hence safe stand and an above average deep frequency recording from such low-profile mic.

    I've been using this mic for 4 years for work Zoom calls, Youtube videos, podcasts, everything. It makes my voice clear and perfect. I don't leave reviews often but this mic is worth every penny. It was $99 when I bought it in 2020 and it's still $99. Can't imagine that there's a better value mic out there.

    I’ve wanted to upgrade my microphone for quite a bit and decided to go with this one instead of going with the pod mic. Why? Let me tell you.

    I currently share this mic with my girlfriend and I needed something that could move back and forward between mine and her computer (both macs).

    But here is where the only real issue appeared (reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5).

    It brinda and usb c to usb a cable, that works great when connected directly to my Mac Studio.

    But when connected to dongles or an adapter from usb A to usb C, it gave static every once in a while.

    Also when I used a great amount of usb C to usb C cables the same issue happened.

    The only usb C cable that I was able to use without any static was the original apple usb c to usb c cable from my MacBook Pro.

    So, be aware that not all cables will work flawlessly.

    Also, a different mic stand needs to be purchased because it has to be close to your mouth (a fist of distance) and with someone big as me (1.87 mts) the mic stand that it brings is way too small.

    Quality wise is just amazing, those were the only two issues I had.

    The first thing that comes to mind when handling this microphone is its weight. This little guy is deceptively heavy. That's due to its all metal framework. I'll never try it, but it really does feel like that if I tossed the mic across the room it wouldn't receive even a tiny scratch. Really impressive build quality for the price.

    For just $100 I wasn't expecting very much in the way of sound quality but I can say that it makes my friends, all of which own Blue products and other overpriced microphones, quite jealous. The way this mic handles plosives is great. A built in pop filter adds some serious value to an already excellently valued product. The sound is also crystal clear. What you hear through audio monitoring is also what the mic output sounds like. No dips or hiccups when it comes to output.

    The one complaint I do have about the overall package is its desk stand. While the desk stand is somehow ALSO tanky as hell, along with bearing a magnetic mount, It's always better to invest in a microphone arm. There are plenty of cheap ones on amazon, but given the fact that this microphone is EXTREMELY sensitive, I recommend buying a quality microphone arm with some sort of shock mount or pad to dampen vibration as the desk moves.

    Also buyer beware: This microphone has only one polar pattern and lacks the multiple polar patterns that more expensive microphones have. That being said, this microphone was designed specifically for casual use, but delivers the cardioid polar pattern just as good as competing brands. If this is a deal breaker for you, I apologize.

    Otherwise, the RODE NT USB MINI is a fantastic low cost, highest quality option for people in the market for such a thing. Whether it be for studio recording, streaming, or just sweaty gaming. This little monster does it all better than the rest.

    Out of the box, I was impressed with the "density" of the Rode mini. It's small but quite heavy for it's size. I was also surprised by the magnetic mount to the base. Very strong. I only used it a bit since I just got it, but the mic's built in pop suppressor is quite effective. No explosive P's and B's.

    The sound quality is quite good and you can affect the tone by speaking closer or further away, getting more bass with proximity. Lastly, the lag-free headphone monitor is terrific. This is the first USB mic I've used that does not require you to adjust sound settings in your computer to monitor yourself. It's like there's a tiny monitor amp in the mic itself, and one that is capable of decent volume if needed. But you still get audio playback from the computer when you need that too.

    I already own way too many microphones. I work in audio and they are a bit of an addiction for me. But the Rode mini was recommended to me by a radio station manager who had to issue mics to her staff during COVID lockdown so her deejays could work from home. I can see why now.

    La calidad de los materiales no tiene duda, es pesado aun sin la base que es magnetica, aunque el sistema se me haria viable si asi como es magnetico para el soporte que viene incluido, se pudiera montar en un brazo para microfono sin tener que quitarle la goma que viene en el microfono, creo que el iman solo esta en la base redonda que esta incluida.

Es nimmt den Klang klar und deutlich auf, was es perfekt für professionelle Anwendungen wie Videoanrufe oder Sprachaufnahmen macht. Die Fähigkeit, Umgebungsgeräusche zu reduzieren, ist ein weiterer großer Pluspunkt.
