Purchased from SimpliSafe Website with 40% off promotion. I used to have the 1st Gen indoor camera installed in exactly the same place. I was excited to replace the old one with a new indoor camera but disappointed with its night vision. I can literally see nothing. I read another Amazon review complaining about this issue before I placed my order. I was like, it shouldn't be that bad. But I was totally wrong; the night vision of my living room is even darker. I wanna be honest, the 1st Gen camera night view is way better than this one. I'm not sure if this new camera can detect motion or catch any dangerous event at night time. Also, the waking process takes longer, if you have their outdoor camera, you will know how that feels. Overall, it's a waste of money.

Every time you try to view, you have to retry 6, 7 times to get live lunching on the spectrum wifi is 300mbps . The connection isn’t even that bad but you have to retry a fews times to view the live streaming. And doesn’t work with 5G wifi. Have to be with 2 G. Once it’s connected the image is very clear as it should be 1080p resolution. I still give it 3 stars because the live image is nice once it is connected but very annoying to retry and test connections a lot and trouble shoot a lot while the other wired connecting one with 720p resolution is connecting fine and image is still decent. And the wifi is more than 300 mbps. I wish I got the wired one instead of this one . But overall it’s working but annoying.
It was not connecting to wifi anymore
( around 12/29/23). I contacted the customer support but they keep telling me the reset step and they blamed the wifi connection, like some other devices are connecting and that’s why the SimpliSafe camera connection dropped. But I live in 1 bedroom apartment, how far could it be the router to the SimpliSafe camera is ? And also I only trying to live lunch when I’m not home, which mean no one in the apartment are not using any wifi at the moment, and other SimpliSafe camera the wired connection one is connecting fine and I can see live lunch on the same network. I’m just very frustrated, not even worth for anything and I give up with this Indoor wireless SimpliSafe camera . It just giving be high blood pressure from frustration and the person who refers to me is just feel bad . I don’t feel like giving any stars anymore since it doesn’t connect to the wifi it’s worthless. While it was connecting for the first month, you have to retry connecting like 10 time to live lunch anyway. It is a very bad way to waste money.

I added this to my existing system. Took 5-10 minutes to install and set up. I have it in my front entry and with my open concept floor plan it captures all the way to the back door. I use it to check on my dogs and with my office being right off the front entry it captures my office and garage entries as well. It’s wireless and can easily recharge the battery without removing from where I installed it. The cord I think is 6 ft?

This camera was very easy to mount in our kitchen to complete our SimpliSafe system. However, when opening the camera view on the app, the camera often times out or takes 30 seconds to load. Not ideal for a security system camera in case of emergencies… None of our other SimpliSafe products do this, so I believe it is an issue with the camera specifically.
