Hi there! Yes, all Blueair units use small Ionizers. At Blueair we know ozone is a serious topic for our customers, that’s why our units have been engineered to produce no measurable amounts of ozone. Blueair units have been thoroughly tested and certified to comply with the California Air Resource Board criteria to emit less than 0.050 ppm. Additionally, tests conducted by 3rd party research firms, such as SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden, have shown that Blueair units may even reduce levels of ozone within a room.

It may not say "ionic" but it works in the same way, and still produces ozone. Every study I've read says even small amounts are dangerous to small animals at continuous exposure

Our research says it does not have ionizing capability. This was a positive to us. Our unit sits like a little robot, doing its' job and being quiet.
