No schedule, no loudness control, motion is not great

No schedule, no loudness control, motion is not great
Update: This will probably stay. The app has controls to select only the components one has -- but for now, it is still cluttered with 2 warning banners because I have not signed up for the service. I hope they will go away after the 30 days trial times out. The alarm is actually not that loud. It has a high pitch that is loud but not loud enough to pierce through sleep, so I will actually need to add something there. I'm still playing with the motion sensor, to be sure the large dog or small cat do not wake us up.Overall it seems workable, but I am still baffled by the lack of a schedule. I will try to see if there is any automation with Alexa and will update again.I switched from SimpliSafe after I realized the app upgrade requires the monitoring service. We don't need. want that. This is used only to track older kids leaving the house in the middle of the night (don;t ask -- apparently it's a phase). So I need a quick deterrent that is loude enough to wake me up, but not the neighbors and definitely not the police. I also need an immediate response -- none of the 60s grace periods to leave the house. Ring seemed to allow for self-monitoring, so I decided to give it a try. Well, I'm finding that there is only one loudness level for the alerts -- wake the neighborhood loud. The sensors are rather bulky, compared to SimpliSafe, and they use 2 coin batteries rather than 1. The system needs repeaters throughout the house -- my 1600sq ft split house required one (SimpliSafe did not). And the app is trying to do too much -- I don;t have a camera or a doorbell. I just want to know that my sensors are all closed and active, and to be notified when that changes. Instead, the app is trying to show me all the places where video images and monitoring would go if I had one, along with "Action Required" annoying warnings.Another issue I ran into is that the covers move while placing a sensor and trip the tampering marker. As a result, I have 3 tampered sensors that will need to be reset now. Finally -- there is no schedule, like many others have mentioned. For those of us living in busy homes with kids going in and out of the home, in a relatively safe neighborhood, I have no intention of leaving this alarm on throughout the day. I just want something to tell me if windows were opened at night, to enforce a curfew. 8:30 it's on, 6:30 it's off. Like another reviewer was saying -- a night time mode only, so I can sleep easy at night.I still believe that the SimpliSafe hardware is better and the app gets the job done in an easier, more streamlined interface. Their keypad almost could replace the app -- except it does not provide sensor status. The Ring keypad is much more limited in what it does, and the app fairly cluttered.Bottom line, I am not convinced this will stay. I will update the review in a week or so, when I've tried to work with its settings.
