My 6-1/2 year old grandson remarks "I didn't even ask for a scooter but oh my gosh, its my favorite!" The next morning he got up and started riding it and said "I am so happy."The photo was taken a few hours ago with the caption "You can guess who is in the bathroom!" Since the scooter has never been far away from him for the last 48 hours.I realize this is all anecdotal and does not talk much about the scooter but if my grandson did the review, it would be nothing but exclamation marks. Nothing better for a gift giver to see: utter satisfaction.

Scooter runs great and is well built. I previously purchased a less expensive one for my 9 y.o. daughter and you get what you pay for, so I replaced it. This was the best one I could find in her size based on advertised speed and battery life. I have been very pleased with it. I wish it had a headlight and tail light for better visibility like some of the competitors, and the lights underneath are pretty useless in daylight. But otherwise it has run perfectly with top speed of about 11 mph (my adult one has speedometer) and is very quiet.

I'm not bitter at all about how Segway treated my defective product situation and warranty, and just want to relay my story before anyone decides to buy. I bought one of these for my 45lb son who rode this about 3-4 times a week. One day we went to turn it on and it gave us the notorious flashing red and white lights. I am very handy and worked with multiple sources to troubleshoot and reset the device. In the end, nothing worked even after talking to Segway. What did they recommend? They asked me to mail the scooter from Florida to California to have it fixed. Cost? 100-$130, and good luck finding a good box for such a situation ...Long story short, paying that price is ridiculous, so I asked if I could get the part mailed to me (they said it was the control board).... No way. Can I get the part # so I can buy it on my own? No way. In the end, I wanted to address the issue but they weren't willing to help point me in the right direction. What did I learn? In the end, you do not have a warranty. What you have is a company that won't back its products in a flexible way that supports the customer. Cross your fingers when buying ...

This is my 2nd e-scooter in a week. I got the Gotrax GKS and after 1 hour of use, the scooter dies and would charge or start again.... I bought 2 mo.ths early for my son bday and.luckily I had 2 weeks left in my return policy and got a full refund.

I decided to spend a little money more for quality and I'm glad I did. This scooter was much easier to setup and feel a lot sturdier. Battery works 3x longer. It feels twice as fast and doesn't have those awkward foot sensors like the Gotrax.
