For a game from '05-'06, I won't argue its graphical fidelity. The gameplay is rock-solid, and its lack of modern accomodation will probably make some CoD kiddies uncomfortable (lack of sprint, grenade tossback, &c.), but you cannot argue the challenge. You want Nazis? This game's got scads of them, all gunning for your scalp. The AI is sometimes lacklustre; for example, friendly AI is usually better at causing friendly fire failures than killing any enemies, and enemies use numbers and cheap positioning as a crutch more often than not.
But the challenge is there, and this is a nice long game to display all the pain. I beat CoD 4 on Veteran, arguably the hardest modern CoD (besides WaW - and that's entirely ridiculous), and it doesn't hold a candle to the all-encompassing difficulty, mission to mission, of CoD 2. Enjoy repairing the wire, my friends.
