I've come very, very late to the smartphone world and was reluctant to spend a huge amount. After asking the opinion of an expert (17 year old boy) I plumped for this Motorola, mostly because of it's enormous battery life. Possibly there are all sorts of bells and whistles enjoyed by the owners of fancier phones, but all I want to do is the basic stuff - calls, messages, a bit of surfing, maps and checking emails when away from home. I've found the interface very accessible indeed.
I was rather taken aback by the sheer size of the thing when I first unpacked it, but I've come to appreciate the big screen, although you need a pretty big pocket for it! The battery life has been just as long as I hoped. The predictive text is excellent (it was dire on my last phone) and it works very well with wifi - I keep the mobile data off as default. I've also warmed to the fingerprint recognition which is quick enough not to be annoying.
Of course, when I first got it going, I had to go through everything and sort out the privacy settings and notifications and so on but as far as I'm concerned, it just works!
Good phone good battery life , good size screen , works well and charges quickly . I really can't knock this phone for its use , looks and easy to use . Really great buy
This phone is extraordinary. I bought it for work due to the huge battery and it doesn't disappoint. Have been using for over a week now and my thoughts are: Positive: Battery, battery, battery! This phone can go for 2 days of heavy usage.Incredible. It's got a nice, shiny finish even though it's plastic but looks fine. The processor is fast enough- it's an average Snapdragon 632 but for the price it's fine and gets me through the day. Negative: Display is average. It's not good for watching videos or movies. It ain't easy to find a screen protector for this phone. I bought 2 different ones and both couldn't cover the screen properly leaving the edges exposed. The camera is pretty mediocre and slow and it doesn't have a 4k video. The speakers, unlike the awesome stereo speakers on Moto g7 plus, are so low that you would only hear it in a room. The face recognition and fingerprint sensor are rather temperamental. They don't work consistently. You can still use them but they are irritating at times. It's bulky. I mean, I've got big hands but even for me it's a slightly difficult to hold it and navigate through apps with one hand. It's also heavy. It's the biggest and heaviest of the Moto g7 series. The case I got for it doesn't exactly fit and while it protects it against a drop,it does make it a little difficult to use the side power button and volume buttons above it. It states it's got fast charge and it comes with a funky 15W charger, but as I suspected considering the whopping 5000 mAh battery, it's just normal charge. It charges for about an hour and a half to two hours. Not really fast charge,is it? But it lasts, lasts, lasts! That matters more to me here. Bottom line is this: I bought this phone because it lasts longer than ANY phone I or you can think of. It's that good in this regard. It's just awesome. Motorola made cuts in a few places but that was to be expected. If you need a phone to work with, this phone is the one. If it's for leisure time and everyday use, I wouldn't recommend it.
Perhaps I'm not the most sophisticated user, but this phone is fantastic. I've only had it a couple of days and so cannot make any comments regarding its longevity but my first impression is that it has everything I need and more. I wanted a standard plug in 3.5mms headphone socket, an SDS card slot and an FM radio. All present. The device is except easy to use, reacting to commands instantly and switching from one app to another without delay. The screen is crisp and clear, maybe not as sharp as my son's £850 Samsung but way better value at £130. Every bit as good as my work iPhone although the camera is a little slower with flash. Why spend more ? Did I mention that I got 3 days use from the first charge ?
So far so good, only had it a few days. Looks nice but I like to have a case with card holders anyway. Choose this as good reviews and price. I use the finger print as they say the face recognition isn’t as secure. Motorola has good tips to help you use it to its fullest. The back does get a lot of fingerprints but easy to wipe . I’m a safety freak I will be getting a glass tempered protector for the screen . It does come with a clear case, free, so if you want it’s good to go straight out of the box.
