I have a 5.1 sound bar with a broken optical port and a good coaxial port, the computer has only an optical port out and no coaxial. My connections picturedThe cost with cables is only $1.00, about 10 times less than buying cables separately, and it eliminates the possibility of broken cables

1.0 out of 5 stars REALLY Wish It Had Worked Because They Are So Nice!
Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2020
I have an LG webOS TV UK6500AUA. The only auxiliary audio output is a TOSLINK optical port. That optical port to connected to my Signia® StreamLine TV adaptor so I can have the TV audio stream directly into my hearing aids. I bought an optical cable splitter in order to connect the “optical out” cable from the TV to the splitter, and then send the signal to both the StreamLine TV adaptor and also to the ROOFULL Digital-to-Analog Audio Converter, so that I could send the sound to my (vintage) Yamaha Home Theater Sound System. (See attached picture for wiring chart. The sound came through the hearing aids just fine, so I knew the splitter worked.) Unfortunately the sound would not come through the ROOFULL Converter. I tried numerous different RCA cables. I even tried the earphone port on the ROOFULL, all to no avail. (I connected the earphones and disconnected the RCA cables before testing.) I confirmed that the digital sound on the LG webOS TV was set to “PCM,” as recommended in the instructions. And yes, I tried hooking up the ROOFULL directly to the TV (no splitter used), with the same result: no sound through the Yamaha Home Theater System.
The support team at Roofull was extremely courteous and accommodating. They even sent out a replacement unit promptly, with the same results as reported above. I was told that both green lights on the DAC must be illuminated, one reflecting the AC power and the other reflecting an optical signal. Neither unit produced that second, all-important green light. They authorized a refund and expressed deep regret, suggesting I try another DAC. I did find another DAC, one where a user specifically mentioned having an LG webOS TV UK6500. That unit works. There must be something about LG TVs that doesn't like the Roofull. So I really wish it had worked because the Support Team at Roofull was so extremely polite and helpful.
