I loved the original RE:2 on Playstation back in the day, so buying this was a no brainer.

Simply put, if you love survival horror, and love the Resident Evil series, this is a must buy! I absolutely loved every minute of playing it, as it brought back many great memories of times when I was younger, and some of the jump scares were even better this time around (I'm looking at you Mr. X!).

This is a great game, albeit a bit short, but that is how it should be, since it is a re-make of the original, with some updates of course. Visuals are amazing of course, especially if you have a 4K TV.

What a great game! I was a big fan of RE2 when I was younger. I couldn't resist this when I saw it. While it's not an exact remake of the original, a lot of the parts of the original that stick out in my mind are in this game. It's almost like a trip down memory lane. I'm glad that it's not an exact remake because that would ruin all of the scares. If your a fan of the original or horror, then you should definitely get this.

First time getting a digital code and it was awesome! So easy and can play right away after the download completes! Resident evil 2 is amazing! I’m already 4 hours in and absolutely love it. They brought back the classic resident evil vibes! This is how resident evil games should be! I was a little worried after Res 6. Thank you CAPCOM!

Its like alan wake meets resident evil
Probably 1 of the few I liked
Enjoyed
Biohazard for its errie 1st person approach & the panned 6 (for its breezy/action oriented approach)

It's fantastic and for $20 an easy recommendation save for one huge ethical quandry. It contains very expensive costume DLC where you spend a great deal of money on pretend pixels of clothing your pretend characters pretend to wear. That's highly inappropriate cash grab DLC especially when it's a remake of remake. It adds nothing to the game, was actually in prior remakes and likely comes right on disc as it was offered on day one and just capcom double dipping on a game there already quadruple dipping on great remaster quality notwithstanding. We bought it on PS1, we bought it on Gamecube, we bought it again on PS3 digitally as a classic and even on a shoddy windows version that didn't work. Normally I boycott games with predatory pre baked dlc or "season passes". What's predatory inappropriate DLC? Think basically anything Activsion, Bethesda, EA, Blizzard, Epic or Ubisoft calls "DLC" or lootboxes where the game is barely half built, untested and over the course of a year you get to pay twice as much for a mostly complete game containing all the content and quality control that should have been there day 1. Compare this with CD Project Red who doesn't even believe in digital rights software DRM or actively combating piracy (They actually understand the mentality of piracy that a pirated game is not lost revenue but is an opportunity for word of mouth marking, brand reputation and with enough respect for a high quality product purchase from a now brand loyal customer) with "DLC" that could be published as another entire game. Some credit to From-Softerware also who builds less massively valuable but solid DLC that includes nothing the core game should have already had only adding to the complete package. Its just more good times in Lordran. They even had bravado to publish a game that was a hit with Activision that would have no dlc at all. Capcom meanwhile is horrified by selling a complete product thinking theres money on the table. a
Normally I punish that behavior but at $20 I'll just forgo the DLC that while still an issue is ultimately cosmetic and not structural. This game is an important memory and its hypocritical but it gets a lot more leeway than most. I wish capcom understood something though; I would have just paid full price day one if there hadn't been predatory DLC.

My first experience with Resident Evil was with the RE:2 version for the N64. As far as remakes go this sets the bar pretty high and I’d like to see the same treatment applied to other titles in the series as well as on future titles. On top of it all the game is absolutely gorgeous on the Xbox One X.
