This is my 2nd ASUS phone. My first was the ASUS ZenFone Max Plus M1, and it instantly made me realize there's no need to spend over $500 on a phone EVER. It was incredible, and strong too, took many drops just fine. But one day (my mistake) I dropped it a little too hard (still works perfect, but screen is cracked), so I ordered this, the ZenFone Max Pro.
Ordering this phone was the best decision ever. ASUS makes extremely high quality phones, has almost every feature if not more than today's $1000+ phones. It's running the newest version of Android, Pie (9). Fingerprint sensor works perfect 98% of the time, rarely will take a couple seconds but it's never bothered me. And that is my only complaint, yet it's hardly a complaint at all.
You get pretty much 100% stock Android with this phone. No more ZenUI from the previous ASUS phones (Honestly I slightly miss some of the ZenUI features, but can never go wrong with Stock Android). Battery lasts 2 days, still, even after a few months use, and I use my phone more heavily, and a lot more often than most people. Screen is great as well.
Camera has improved tremendously, I'm no photographer but, wow. It's got the same Dual Lense Depth Perception feature that the iPhone X has, to blur the background when taking photos. And it can record True 4K Video. Keep in mind the screen is 1080p so you will need a 4k TV or Monitor to watch your beautiful videos in all their glory.
Everything about this phone is incredible. NFC for Google Pay works perfect as well, taps faster than my actual debit card. Even the Audio quality, makes my headphones sound So Much Better than my PC does. Recharges very quickly considering it has a 5000mah battery. After my last ASUS phone, and now this one, I doubt I'll ever own any other brand again. 10/10. Sad to see it's no longer currently available, pretty sure I got the last one. (Sorry!!!) But if you are looking for a budget phone that feels like (and looks like) it can outperform $1000 phones, and you are able to get your hands on one of these, it's all you'll ever need.
